    Nice GUI Jake. Don't worry about the not being able to mouse click paste, anybody that would be confident enough to re-program their transmission, is going to know how to use Ctrl C and Ctrl V. Oh, and that hyperlink to your YT page is a nice little bit of self promotion. Great vid. From UK

      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      It took longer to make the gui then it did to do the actual coding part of the program lol

    Dude your freaking awesome. I'm not even a mechanic but I like learning about cars just in case I ever need the information one day. I watch a few guys like Eric O south of Maine , Ivan from pine hallow , scanner danner. I hold you in the highest regard for your depth of knowledge. Thank you for everything you teach and put on TH-cam.

    Awesome Jake! Not only do you teach people the proper way of diagnosing and explain it very well, you help out techs with something like this. Making a program and wanting it to be free and stay free. Awesome!!

    In Jake’s next video, he’ll show us how to automatically roll every half cent directly to our bank accounts.
    Seriously, this is awesome Jake. I’ll buy ‘buying’ it!

    Kinda crazy how we go from making homemade test leads to homemade software to fix cars. This is awesome, I'm going to download it on my Asian partition, hopefully I will get to use it soon.

    I love it. You know I was thinking about the same thing, like making an open source sw while I was spending an hours to collect pieces of information to one puzzle on how im608 is preparing an eeprom file, which contains keys IDs, for older Toyota/Lexus, cause I don’t have im608 and the job was done by vvdi prog, vvdi ktmp and manual dump correction. So I figured it out, but unfortunately I’m not a developer to write a code. Respect!

      I’m not a developer either lol I just watched TH-cam videos and got help from ChatGPT 😂

    On the licensing. I think it would be a headache and as soon as people pay for something they are ready to sue you if they are not satisfied.

    Huh I just reset the adaptives in the TCM with a SnapOn scanner when I installed a reman CVT in my wife's 2010 Rogue. No issues at all... 🤔

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      If you have a QR code on the range switch you are supposed to transfer the characterization. If its one of the CVTs with the internal ROM there is a "pedal dance" process that transfers it out of the ROM to the TCM.

    • @codyarizona4925
      @codyarizona4925 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah same on 2013 rogue I just did, no issues.. Might only apply to 2014+ models

    • @marstedt
      @marstedt วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I remember doing the "pedal dance" when swapping a TCU. Do you remember what it is or where to find it?

    • @PineHollowAutoDiagnostics
      @PineHollowAutoDiagnostics วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@autodiagyt the earlier CVTs with the external TCM were probably less fussy 😉

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PineHollowAutoDiagnostics these are external tcms. I’ll find the bulletin that explains both types and the process to get the characterization information transferred to the TCM.

      Not exactly on topic but is there a way to decode TCU part numbers? Trying to find the "best" TCU for a 2010 Cube and have a list of 13 numbers so far (half have been superceded).

    Fantastic job, Jake! I'm sure it will be very helpful for other techs. Just hope you get some compensation for your effort (assuming users will honor your work), once you made it free to use.
    PS: From my point of view, you should not have included the Python source code - you may come to find out someone, anywhere in the world, changed your software and gave it a new appearance, to sell only the .exe file online - such is the world we live in.

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Anyone that would go through that effort could easily decompile the exe and do it anyway. The hope is that since it’s free and easy available that someone won’t try to do that. I need to make a website for it and get it posted there so if someone tries google searching Nissan QR code or something similar it will pop up there.

    The auto manufacturers are making sure the right to repair our own vehicles is made expensive and difficult. When purchasing a used or new the seller should be made responsible for the calibrations prior to delivery (junkyard, or dealerships)

    I almost bought a Rouge until I read about the transmissions. I dont know whether the sheaves are too soft or the kevlar is too stiff. They get a ridge and wont advance . People stomp on the gas a lot and it eats them up.

    • @marstedt
      @marstedt 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      There's no Kevlar in any automotive CVT belts / chains that I know of. Utility / off-road vehicles (dirt bikes), and snow mobiles do use rubber belts though.

    thanks man. great idea and very good job. my only question to you would be this: do you have a solution for when the QR code is damaged. happens a lot in my area... I let most scrapyard know that we need those sticker to be in good shape, without paint or damage... but it still happens once in a while. every time it is a pain to find a solution.

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      No there is no solution at all for that. My advice is to have the shop scan the QR code before accepting the delivery as being good. If the qr code is not scannable then send the unit back as damaged

    • @mathieuvaugeois362
      @mathieuvaugeois362 วันที่ผ่านมา

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mathieuvaugeois362 as far as I know Nissan can’t get a file without making it from the QR code and i honestly don’t know if there is on on the valvebody or not. I know when you buy a new valvebody it comes with a new sticker for the range switch

  • @marstedt
    @marstedt 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    Looks like the early JATCO JF009e (RE0F08) doesn't need a PC to load the characterization into the TCM but there are still TCM updates that require $$$$ software/hardware to program (or swap out the TCM for a newer one).

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  18 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes the ones with no QR code has a ROM built into the valve body with the characterization. So you erase it out of the TCM and then it pulls it from the ROM in the valvebody. When you do the software update to the TCM it does this as part of that process as well.

    • @autodiagyt
      @autodiagyt  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Nothing they can do to me. The QR code is easily read by any smart phone so the data is there. I just figured out how to rearrange it and omit parts for it to match the file you would get from them. They could quit being greedy and charging for something that cost them nothing to do.
