In team games, a gg after 2/3 of the enemy team left usually isn't an offensive gg, it often just means "good game". People in team games (and lower elo 1v1) often mean it when they say gg.
@@shorok9333 read properly, I mentioned that opponents are already giving up (means gg's first, as it is in the video). There is nothing offensive to confirm that game was good after opponent admited his defeat
@@Adlaran well, that is just the problem, it's supposed to mean good game but through years of usage it gained plenty of insinuations that may not be particularly obvious or logical when comparing it to the original meaning
Love your hypothetical conversations you have with your partners. This team content is the best. Love your 2v2 the most. Your partners are the most receptive as well.
it's only giga chad if you survive. That's like saying "punching Mike Tyson in the face is giga chad", lol, not if you end up with your jaw dislocated.
as an avid 3v3 diamond player, it was really fun seeing all these familiar maps and watching you play them as well as the "type of players" that are in that pool xD ngl i was keeping an eye out to see if i was in any of these games
Marc what i do to remember opponents' races is to remember the *color* of the *random* -- i.e. in your game 1: "blue - toss - toss." This way you know if you see a blue unit, you know instantly that it was the random. Alternatively, on the traditional method, "random - toss - toss," if you see, for example, a blue probe, you have to verify if blue was the 'random' player. You're the best! cheers ~
Just wanted to mention the map for the last game is sick for mass nukes, because bases are lined up vertically, so it takes multiple scans/observers to spot well spread ghosts
In larger team games, early pressure is really valuable because 1) it gives time for your allies to set up and 2) the opponents might overreact, putting them behind but still on the defensive.
Game 2 terran player pushing early disrupted enemy team which is very valuable in team games. A lot of people (like me) are often unprepared for a very early push like that. Its a gamble, but the 4racks gives you enough production to snowball quickly if you manage to pry an opening. If one player loses his workers and ragequits then you often win right there, the rest of the match is just cleanup.
yah, and sometimes if the push is dangerous enough, their whole team tries to help and that slows their entire team while your teammates are playing normal. Just gotta hope the other team just doesn't decide to make a huge army and come and crush you while you're temporarily down a player 😂
I wish SC2 Teamgames were overhauled. 1) you should be able to see your allies banks 2) you should be able to share units/buildings directly to a mate 3) after leaving you should be able to take over the bases of your allies
I think it's more confusing in 3 player mode because your random mates will be asking, "Is he talking to me?" Or maybe expecting the other guy to do it instead. In 2 vs 2 your team mate knows he or she is being directly asked, so they can agree or veto it immediately.
19:22 in a 4v4 with my friends, we massed units, I made nothing but zlots and just kept attacking bases with waves. one terran made widowmines so they couldnt take map control very easily, the other protoss made archons and the other terran made marine / tank to ensure we dont die to the enemies marine / tank (he was our best player so we usually made him keep us alive so we could do dumb stuff)
I never played 3v3 with humans, but aggressive proxy barracks strategy seems solid to me, even without any consolidation with allies. The guy did put on some early pressure on opponents, probably forcing them to invest in the army supply earlier then they had planned.
If you’re planning to be in a fight, that punch in the face has likely been accounted for. Such a common phrase used as a dismissal by a guy who’s turning his back on you for effect while insulting the brick in your hand. If he’s got eyes in the back of his head, they’ll be blacked in a minute
31:25 when his teammates leave, game is pretty much over so it is not bm in a 3v3 to gg after teammates leave because it is the only time to gg.. People usually leave when their teammates leave.
NEW CHALLENGE: constantly sacrifice your units, for the team! But you have to sound like you’re trying, and be super optimistic about “the next time will be better” and just keep running 200 supply of marines straight over lurkers. ;)
Yeea, Thermy brought some new fresh stuff as mostly. I've been thinking about new perspectives of competition too and it came up to this idea: Make competition of beating the Coop missions as fast as possible, two teams of gm players start the same map and the timer, one team beats the map - it's GG. Spectators have to watch both games at the same time though, but why not, I'd enjoy that. I'm sure there are charts of the best times of coop missions somewhere, but this idea is to see GM class players compete by choosing the unit comp and sync the abilities and crazy micro. Adios
you should play 2v2 or 3v3 with a known teammate and play really weird strats: -2-3 zerg for MASSIVE one attack banling; -toss + zerg for only mêle units; -3 same units only (marines, queens, sentry, etc). Really nice idea team games!
"3v3 is WILD!" 😂😂😂 I'd like to see more random 3v3. Maybe it was just a coincidence that these teammates were less talkative. I imagine they get more talkative (and react more to crazy builds) as you match higher ranks.
Idea for future team games. Play as ultimate support. Make an army to defend allies ONLY. For attacking you can only make make SCV to repair ally mechanical units and medivac to heal ally bio units. Also give excess money to allies
What makes the gold patches worthwhile enough to do that? You saved a few SUVs in the long run but lost the time you could have made them by flying your base down there.
For those placements matchs, maybe 4v4 because you'll start low, do a drone rush into mass drone, and drone drop harass them. With your micro i'm pretty sure you'd win like that with 200 drone army in the end.
Btw the Iron Mike quote is really "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Im only correcting MBP because the real quote is much, much funnier 😁
Be first, steal the initiative, force opponent adapt to your strat, vary your strat timedly, push when pulled, pull when pushed and yada yada the theory of games and the base of military strategies, but also works in one on one duels/mma
@uThermal Arranged Teams still have to go through placement - correct. However, your combined MMR for solo teams is averaged. Example: Serral is Gold and you are Diamon (realistic assumptions) in solo 2v2, but when you team up and do placement matches your then average MMR will fall somewhere in Platinum. Your first placement match should be vs other Platinum players and your other placements can then scale from that initial point. If two Bronze solo players team up, even if they win all 5 placement matches, they're unlikely to get a party league above gold. Same for two top Master 2v2's can still get Master's after losing all 5 placements.
How much minerals did you mine in that first game though? I was curious. There's less patches to mine from, and on top of that the mining time and building time is subtracted at the start.
The opponents with the micro are a "little too weak." Lol! That would be my level of skill. I have never been good at games like this with so much going on. SC2 is still my favorite story of all time.
I never thought I'd enjoy but man I love the team series. Fun interactions here and there, people panicking, people with good strategies... basically people having fun. Thank you.
In heroes of the storm when they gave a bunch of the EU and KR guys accounts so they could practice for Blizzcon, they ended up starting in high gold, which sucked for us Gold and Plat players
gg when 2/3 of the enemies have left and game is over is probably ok. "wpgg" might be nicer. In LoL during the final few seconds before the nexus dies or the surrender vote triggers the end, gg'ing as the winning team is fairly expected and mannered. maybe thats a game culture difference, but it could also just be a team game format difference.
I find your random team game content highly entertaining. The 2v2 has been better, my guess is with 3v3 the extra communication becomes difficult so people tend to not engage in it. Not to say this one wasn't enjoyable but the 2v2 content was highly amusing.
So refreshing. Very nice concept. Pgm always cares about players with competitive mindset. But not about fun play with casual mates. On the ladder I see a lot of ppl not even ranked 1v1. Only playing team games.
About match making, race is irrelevant (surprisingly). If you are 5000 mmr terran 3v3 player, and choose protoss for a change. You are still 5000 mmr and will lose the game and terran mmr with it.
Problem with team games is you gotta deal with teammates, I keep running into teamkillers that either tilt and teamkill, or play games to build 50 zerglings and teamkill before you can do anything about it And obviously the MMR thing is crazy, and we just had new split start so it's even worse right now
2v2 relies the most on the team working together, so that probably works best for this format. of course, i still appreciate the experiment, but in 4v4 these strats are an ancient tradition from day9's funday monday, and 3v3 isn't that different. in 2v2, it's more important (and therefore also easier) to get the teammate on board, otherwise you just win the 1v2 or 1v3 at this level, which isn't really the point.
*immediately take a full minute to fly his command centre across the map *
"help me defend pls, i'm vulnerable"
absolutely killed me marc, keep up the good work
a teamplayer should never be shy of notifying the temporal weaknesses, it was also like the first comm check "12 roger, over"
"if these guys are not impressed by me flying my cc for a minute and a half to the gold, ill have to find something else to impress them with"😂😂😂😂
effectively wins a 3v3 game 1v3 in 5 minutes.
In team games, a gg after 2/3 of the enemy team left usually isn't an offensive gg, it often just means "good game". People in team games (and lower elo 1v1) often mean it when they say gg.
yes gg just means good game what's wrong with using it, especially when your opponents are already giving up

11:00 yeah, most people don't have the APM to type an essay while they're playing lmao
exactly, I rarely type anything beyond glhf because I'm busy and, in 1v1, chat is used primarily to distract or BM.
Typing speed and APM are two very different statistics.
I think next quality update Blizzard could make is to let AI recognize words said through the microphone and convert that into chat message
