Wonderful video for an older, ill guy like me, who f.e. has arrived Passo Rhombo (Timmelsjoch) + St. Bernhardino many years ago, but never took the french dreams ... congratulation for the amazing quiet manner, that you've kept bike and camera :-) Thanks a lot ! B. L.

Thank you for the kind words! Passo Rhombo and St Bernardino look amazing too. I hope I get the chance to visit them.

Nice video. This is part of the route for the Etape this year. How hot was it? Is there a strava record for this climb? Curious to know your watts if your had a power meter.

Thanks! The days we spent in Serre Chavalier was extremely hot. 30+ every day. But it was nice in the mornings and in the mountains. I think it was 20-25 when I did Col du Galibier. I didn't have a power meter, but my guess is I averaged ~200 W (my weight was ~92 kg at the time). I have a Strava activity for it but there is no interesting data there really. Good luck if you are doing Etape!

@@TheSterun Yes I am doing the etape. 56 minutes for this climb is excellent.. Do you remember how far you were from Briancon at the start. That is where the etape is starting.

@@leezehngebot3980 it is a long story, but the plan was to do the climb all the way from Chantemerle the day before. But when I got to Col du Lautaret the final part was closed due to a race. So I had to ride back (and tried to ride up Col du Granon instead). Then the next day I took the car up to Col du Lautaret and rode the last part up to Galibier just to tick it off. Here is the Strava activity for the ride from Chantemerle to Col du Lautaret www.strava.com/activities/1688555663. From Chantemerle it is ~20 km and 600 meters of elevation up to Col du Lautaret. And Briancon is just a few kilomiters down the valley from Chantemerle.

What is the application that allows you to have what you have on the left of your screen?

I used Virb. It allows you to display the data from your gpx file in many different ways and styles. There are other apps too. I think that GoPro also has an app.
