    I 100% agree. The Acuity shift is so smooth and makes every shift with confidence it's in gear. I've had the 4 way in my base model for 2 maybe going on 3 years. I recently bought another RSX (Type S), and the stock shifter is so loose, I sometimes pop out of 3rd or even grind it. That may be because I'm so used to the short shifter that I am making the mistakes myself. I will be buying another Acuity shifter, but may be going with the 2 way this time. Just a week ago I had the set screw for the shaft that the knob connects to come loose and the shaft slid all the way down while driving. Not fun. It was causing me to have troubles getting into some gears. Easy fix took about 5 mins. I would advise anyone who is looking into getting a short shifter to go with Acuity. (Not sponsored either)

      That's cool to hear! And I totally agree, I had issues with the stock shifter as well because the knob didn't have any weight to it and the shifter itself seemed so loose (like you mentioned). You definitely won't regret the 2-way, it's really just getting used to the positioning which just takes a little time after having a shifter with more adjustability. I'm fully used to it now and it's smooth as butter every time.

    Oem gear box has a slight curve in the gearstick. Acuity 2-way is striaght so thats why it feels more forward. 4-way has that off center touch which make it feel more oem without much adjustments. Great vid 👏🏾👏🏾

      Thanks for the insight on those! I actually forgot the OEM one had a slight curve to it; it’s been awhile since I’ve had that one. And I appreciate it!

    Appreciate the vid because this really solidifies me wanting to swap out my hybrid v2. I can’t count how many issues I’ve had with the hr v2…constant swiveling, no more clamping force without trying to over tighten and not strip the Allen bolts for the swivel. Not “tuned” to spec out of the box. No real info on how to fix if issues arise. The 2 way acuity is what I’m looking for, less failure points is the biggest thing for me. It also seems to be a slimmer design not causing it to hit the plastic trim. As much as I like the open look to see the shifter, it just doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing seeing all the tabs and what not. I also hate that crunch in third…not confidence inspiring whatsoever. Hoping this acuity 2 way makes for a better driving experience. The hr works when it does but too much adjustability caused for headaches over time. Again, thanks for the transparency of product! Relatable for sure!

      appreciate the thoughtful response, and clean rsx. yeah i feel ya on all that man. yes, super slim design and pretty lightweight. i landed on the acuity for similar reasons. the simplicity of the 2-way is great; there's no hassle with all the extras for a daily. you're going to have a lot of fun with it because i noticed a huge difference after the install.
      really the only thing to get used to, like i mentioned in the video, was going into first gear because of the placement difference of the shifter itself (without the adjustability); all the other gears i was fine. but once you get used to the new position, it's buttery smooth. you always know it's in gear.
      you're welcome! appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.

      With me having the K-Tuned shifter for about 2 years prior to the Acuity, I really don’t notice it at all when I’m driving. I also don’t have a shift boot, so I’m sure having one would also help. Do you have a stock shifter currently and you’re looking to make the switch?

    i have the hybrid racing short shifter, are there any differences between the hybrid racing one and acuity?

    • @flonought
      @flonought  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can’t speak to that one specifically because I’ve never used it. I would watch some other comparison videos online. But are you having issues with it or are you just looking to change it up?

      @@flonought no issues at all and it works great, but i just wanted to know if i’m missing out on the acuity since when i bought mine i was deciding between the two.

    • @flonought
      @flonought  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tame7222 if you’re not having any issues I would save your money and stay with Hybrid; no reason to fix/spend money on something that isn’t giving you issues. I’ve heard the hybrid is pretty good (and the later versions have gotten better). I would have stayed with the K-Tuned shifter if it wasn’t pissing me off so much with sticky shifts (from my personal experience). Being that it is my daily I needed something that gave me more confidence, and the Acuity definitely did that for me.

    It's a shame they didn't put a slight bend in it to put the knob in the stock position.

    • @flonought
      @flonought  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I think that would have been a nice addition too, but really it just took some getting used to. I don’t really even notice it anymore and it has made the driving experience so much better.

      @@flonought I"ll think about getting it. I'm dealing with something broken in the transmission at the moment. Seems to be a broken shift fork. Car is stuck in 3rd hear even though the shifter moves and I can select other gears. I think the forks were damaged when the clutch hydraulics went last year and I had to be harder on the shifting to get the car home. Looking into k-tuned cables and this shifter after the the transmission is fixed to have precise shifting when it's done.

    • @flonought
      @flonought  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Caliber1077 shit, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you get it all worked out. Yeah if you think it’s gonna be an issue for you maybe spend the little extra and just go with the 4-way adjustable. Gears 2 through 6 were not really an issue to get used to. For me, it was going into 1st that took an adjustment period initially since it was positioned different than the K-Tuned.

    • @Mcdonaldt001
      @Mcdonaldt001 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @flonought
      @flonought  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would agree with that based on reviews I’ve read too. I can only speak to the shifter and cables, but other than eliminating the play from the stock shifter I didn’t enjoy it and should have gone with the acuity from the jump.
