    Dude! There's a ton of work still to be done in your chateau. I'm having a panic attack at the thought of taking on another project!! 😳

    • @moxielouise
      @moxielouise 2 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Exactly my thought. I'll watch either way but it makes me more than nervous. hearing my mother's voice in my head "if he'd spend more time renovating what he has instead of shopping he'd be closer to fixing what they already have. With such a young family if you were bringing in a successful income from the chateau it'd make sense but it will require much more than popping over there the odd day a week to revive that building and a full time working crew to achieve it.

    I have no words! You see opportunity and investment potential. I see a money pit and energy sucker. The world needs people of vision and the Petherick clan definitely have it. Good luck with your decision making. Thanks Billy🙏🏻❤️

      So agree about the money pit / energy sucker aspect. A defunct, institutionalized convent (?) seems like a serious investment mistake waiting to happen.

    I've remarked that all the Brits and other 'foreign' buyers who buy and live in these chateaux do so as they did back when they were originally lived in, with lots of people passing through, dogs, lots of work going on, gardening and animals. I feel that since at least 100 years the French have seen these buildings as part of their past and not very practical and liveable and tended to ignore them to the point that many are beyond repair which is sad. Chateaux like yours, Lalande, Bordeaux life and of course our many other 'friends' are really doing so much good to the French culture despite not being French. Thank you, as a Brit living in France it's so good to see and know that now people will no longer look at these places and then walk on by, they can now see the potential.

    An old convent could be split up into several micro-projects such as a couple of high end apartments/air bnb's, brocante, art sales & studio, destination weddings, wine tasting weekends. Place has alot of possibilities, but needs alot of manpower and money to make it happen! Good luck. Hope you will keep the current chateau, as you've worked so hard to make it your home.

    I saw a couple videos of some urban explorers exploring, videoing and talking about the history of the place…this will be a big task to undertake but gorgeous!!!

    I think those large tanks may be for oil...at least in the US those types of tanks were used for oil heating furnaces

    I could totally see it becoming multi use, brocante, cafe, air b&b. Great thing about renting it out as a brocante is that it only needs to be dry. A small part with heating, water, working plumbing... As an office for the brocante isn't that big of a project. A cafe would be a lot more work to get up and running.

      @@ThePethericks there is a great brocante in our area in an old school building and it works great. Every room has a different theme, beds, books, toys, table wear.... One thing i learn from them is keep the books downstairs, the weight was affecting the building.
