..and if the sidewalk gets icy, you've got a chain. Nice project...

I can only imagine hand forging tire chains, sounds like a punishment for people who don’t bother learning the basics of forging

Of course, I do love that little thing, it actually got hot enough to burn steel during this project.

I love the chain. I’m thinking two pounds might be more than my neck wants to carry around but it is beautiful!!

Thank you! It is very beefy for jewelry, I just have it hanging on my wall because I like to look at it.

You need some very thin metal.

I have a list of things viewers have asked me to make, and once I get enough of them, I’m going to make a video of just making those things. Your request has been added to the list!

Fantastic job!!! Glad to see your channel grow. Would you ever make something like a Jeweler's hammer???

I’ve never mentioned it on this channel, but my favorite thing to forge is hammers! I just think the elegant simplicity and the fact that it is so incredibly practical is what draws me to it. However, I don’t have any 1045 or some thing akin to that. I could make a mild steel hammer, however, I just really don’t know what I would use it for. But making a jewelers hammer would be an absolute joy, I just need to find a cheap way to get a medium carbon alloy in the right size. Probably either a railroad or maybe rail spikes?

@@Anvil_knocker To be honest with you if you do make a hammer that small, a chasing hammer would be the way to go. I could see you using it for engraving and texture making etc. A railroad spike could work great especially with the over hanging heads most of them have. With a small ball peen at the other end.

Love the necklace - wow beautiful! How many hours all together did it take you to make it? Glad you stayed warm!

I never count the hours, however, for me, it took at least 8 hours

What an amazing project. Always wanted to forge but thought it would be expensive to do. You have inspired me to build my own forge! What happens to the ash that builds up probably in the pipe and the bowl of the fire?
