    i have said this on several blacksmiths channels i'll say it here as well, i wish more blacksmiths would show there mistakes on their videos bc i believe we learn by making mistakes more than we learn by our successes. what not to do is as important as what TO do. thanks for sharing. plus it makes me feel better about myself when i see ppl do something goofy as i do so often.

      I’ve always liked showing the failures, so that my viewers can feel like they’re going on the journey with me, instead of just everything going perfectly the first time which everyone knows isn’t true

    Good stuff! I agree with the sentiment at the end of the video! The permanence of my work and the work it took to get to where im at, is a very cathartic thought! I teach at a makerspace and often talk about this, thanks for validating my thoughts and feelings towards blacksmithing!

      I’ll validate any feelings that are valid! There’s a reason people say you only fail when you stop trying

    There’s a reason the most common motivational posters tell you to never give up, it’s an important message that is all too often gloss over

      I may have taken that idea a bit too far, but hey, stubbornness can be a virtue

    You're good, we routinely get banged up at work. Gloves are helpful also I keep superglue in the truck and nearly everywhere or close by and some quickclot or similar products. Remember we work with our hands and they are our moneymakers so we gotta protect them.

      I love new skin liquid bandage, it smells like cartoon poison and goes bad unless you seal it in a vacuum chamber, but it works some wonders for cuts that don’t threaten mobility

    You need 5 stitches to count as an injury, that's the spirit bro!
    End result was a beaut!

    I got myself Tuesday breaking a stick with my hand that i needed for a push stick on the table saw. The thing splintered into the web of my right hand. Luckily no major damage but i could have just cut said stick with the saw i was using instead of wanting to snap it quickly...

      I’ve always thought, “if I ever lose a limb, I can just for a new one” but I’d rather not do that quite yet…

    I had to get 7 stitches on Saturday because the knife I was working on bounced on my anvil, and nailed me in the head. ( the knife had no bevels it just flew that fast )

    dude thats bad. i had some pretty deep cuts on my work, but never got a stich i just used a masking tape till the bleeding cease hahaha never do that, and dude use a drill press its safer

    • @Anvil_knocker
      @Anvil_knocker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve always wanted to drill press, but there’s always been some thing else that I wanted more, that I end up spending my money on… I also like getting stitches on my fingers because then I can use them without worrying about my finger popping back open
