I think and I may be wrong that most cushman owners are older men who aren't into recording the work they did on there scooters throughout the years and they don't watch youtube. Thanks for sharing your work on your scooter.
Just a hint anytime I go to kick over an engine that has not been started for a while I pull the plugs and put a couple of tablespoons of Marvel Mystery oil on top of the piston and let it soak in it helps free up the rings and loosen up any corrosion on piston skirts. I know this is too late for your project but maybe next one you rebuild will go a little easier. It also helps oil pumps free up if it is not working. best of luck with the cushman eagle.
Hello.Nice video. I also live in Oklahoma. I am currently in the market to buy a restored Cushman Eagle 1956 thru 1959 model. My brother and I owned a 1957 Eagle back in the 1960s.I sounds like your oil pump is not correctly working.On the internet you can find engine rebuild manuals.There are a few Cushman repair shops around the country.Looking forward to your future videos.
Just for information, the Cushman engine doesn't have an oil pump, like so many engines of its type it is what they call splash lubricated. The splash lubrication worked fine for most situations, it could be a problem if someone takes it out on the highway and runs it wide open for several miles, then the splash lube isn't adequate. As long as you don't run it wide open they are fine.
Not to be picky but I believe that is a 1955 not 1956.... the clues to the 55-57 era are 55=white grips, 56=black grips, 57=Chain on the right side. Awesome scooter, I have 9 of them...

It always great to get strong info I think by update 12 I went with 1957 really for me! , I had at this point in my life, never seen or heard of these, so it was by update 12 and way more research done! I went with the date I went with! but let me tell ya what a great time I had then top it off there person I bought from! we made a deal and now he has it back lol back in the barn lol crazy but he has taken way better care of it now then before lol but again thank you!

There is a website on those Cushmans. I don't have the site info at this time,but there is a mechanic in California that specializes in all Cushmans.

1957 had a hanging oil bath air cleaner.
you need a fly wheel cover to cpool the engine
