I had a 58'... for some reason after a few years sold it.... major sellers regret... following spring... scored a 62' off an estate sale... I'm very lucky that we have a local fellow who has any part for Cushman.. and provides service... I had the engine, clutch rebuilt... I have it on my TH-cam channel.... fun fun scooter.... I got two buddies... both rode their Cushmans'' 52' and a 59' to Sturgis and back.. 1200 miles... I'll ride mine to Saturday morning coffee with the Star Buck rejects... 😎

When I was in Jr High, in 1962, there must have been 2 dozen Cushmans in the parking lot, but I don't remember any of them looking as sharp as yours.

i think your going to have paint peel do to you painting the filler neck the gas and fumes with eat at the edges of the filler neck paint

You don't want to paint the cooling fins for obvious reasons.

I live near you. I have many parts and also own a 57 eagle. I'm not real familiar with the engine but I could figure out about anything. My eagle is engine shaped with an 1992 vfr 250 Honda engine.

I think the Cushman Mustang has a 12 HP engine. It has more of a motorcycle shape and it has taller but narrower tires on it. It’s considered to be a scooter.

Do you know anyone that has a Cushman Mustang bike. I’m looking for one.

Man, my opinion, Cushman made some cool rides and I believe everything they made you could license and ride on the road, either way, very cool man! I dig it, looks badass! Sounds damn good too!

Where did you get your parts an repair manual

Is there a reproduction or original service manual floating around on the web? Sometimes the older stuff only has the digital version, but they're handy regardless.

My Mom and Dad dated on a Cushman during WWII, he later parked it in his mom's chicken yard. I last saw it in the 70's then badly rusted. The baddest guy at my Junior High, drove one like yours, it may have been an Allstate from Sears. It had tall chrome ape hanger handlebars and a loud exhaust, he smoked cigs and was the local king of the road...at least in our eyes. Two brothers shared a new red Vespa, but the old Cushman's loud wide open chrome exhaust pipe ruled the roads near our Jr. High !! There was a guy in Comfort, Tx. that had a collection on really nice old Cushmans, a while back. Thanks.

I bought a 1958 when I was 13 and paid for it with a paper rout. I still have one, but it is a 1974 Silver Eagle.

Being i was born in 1957 i would love to own that bike.

you have the 8hp version with the square fins, my 5hp had rounded fins.

my first vehicle 1957 eagle 5hp version. paper route paid for. in Tucson in1957 i got a scooter license at 13 years old for a 5hp or less.

You need to stop fooling around with that thing and drop a Maico 501 square barrel motor in it, talk about fun! Trouble is finding one, you could settle for the Maico 450 Radial fin motor i guess. Do it.

Where you bought parts like carburator kit.

Is this engine 2-stroke or 4-stroke?

I wish you would have shown how to remove the trigger…removed stater and flywheel no problem. Having a hard time getting to the trigger off….same problem with bad wires. Edit I only removed part of flywheel 5:14 removed center bolts will put them back on and pull it properly.. I should be able to do it now. Thanks for the videos

Hey man, just was wondering if I could get in touch with you? I have a cushman 1957 eagle. The bad breaks won’t engage. Was wondering if you could point me in the direction to find something to repair it or a diagram of the back breaks so I can break it to the problem. Great work on the cushman!!!
