    Back in the day the snap on truck I used did not have any interest.that was built into the extremely over priced tools they sold,now same price structure and interest? What a joke.

    What happens if someone quits there job and takes the product with them? and it's a truck seller loan so you can't report to collections or repo?

    Thanks for overview. Looking for a new scanner and not happening on truck credit 🤣.
    Can you give me the main differences between the D10 and the new Solus (think he said it’s a plus??) and in your opinion the Best Buy for the dollar?? Thanks

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on what type of shop you’re running!! If it’s strictly bidirectional scan tool, they both have the same scanning functions! Although the solus plus is a little bit quicker. If you’re getting into deeper diagnostics with actually replacing components, you may want to go with the D10 due to it having a component tester! Where you can test the actual component before you replace it, with the price of electrical parts being non-returnable this is a game changer!

      @@SnaponToolsJosephHull Thank You, Since I need the ability to do no-directional function testing for things like purge valves and window/door lock motors, if that’s not doable with the solus, then the D10 it is

    Do you know anything about the industrial account manager role at snap-on? Essentially it's selling snap on in bulk to businesses. I have an interview coming up for that, but I'm curious if it's as good of a job as they make it sound. Not sure how many large factories are going to want to overpay for snap on tools that could get stolen

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally, any job that sells the best tools in the world is a great job, I don’t have much contact with the industrial rep in my area, so I can’t comment on that, but I’m sure any big corporation that values productivity would invest!

      Large organizations are going to need those tools and better ones will have internal controls to keep track of them. My uncle used to work for Ford and his garage was stocked with Snap On tools that I'm pretty sure went out the back door of the plant. When I was in the Air Force, they also used Snap On tools, but they kept very good track of them, as a plane does not go back online until every tool is accounted for in the shadowed toolbox. The Air Force would also court martial your ass and throw you out on Bad Conduct Discharge if so much as a screwdriver was missing, so it was not really worth it to steal.

    Unless you have a ton of money behind you a ten week turn will kill you. A ten week turn will quickly turn into a 15 week turn. In addition during those ten weeks it’s unlikely you will be able to sell that customer anything else unless you are able to bump his payment. Paying for a toolbox for FIVE years is nuts! The burden is always on the dealer to collect the money every week! Is it really worth making the sale?

    I’m pretty lucky, because my local dealer will let us crank up thousands in ‘truck credit’ and pay under $100 a week.
    There is a guy in our shop, that has almost an $8,000 balance with the truck and pays just $75 a week.
    Thing is…we make good money, he knows that and he knows that everyone at my place stays for a very long time too.
    Turnover is uncommon, so it helps build reliability, etc

      Sorry but your dealer is making unwise business decisions for the sake of making a sale. Holding an 8000.00 balance for 75.00/wk is NUTS. I’m sure that in your mind this makes him a nice guy and I’m sure he is. Is that 8000.00 financed through Snao on? That might work, it’s his business!

      @@craigjorgensen4637 Damn that's like 9 years. If there is no interest being collected, that truck will be out of business soon. I wonder what happens to those truck accounts when a dealer goes under? They are probably pretty hard to collect on at that point.

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kennethsouthard6042 if a franchisee goes under, and Snapon doesn’t purchase the account. The franchisee has the choice to either collect on his own, or send to collections!

    Fuck that . Some weeks I pay $40 some weeks $100. For the prices it should be 20 weeks . I’m about done cause the crap has gotten way way higher the last 5 years. My box was $5,500 new in 2007 . That same box last year was $10,500 lol 😂

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeff! Hopefully you and your franchisee have spoken about that, as long as you’re making the minimum payments each week! Without your payment, along with every other customers, it makes it very hard for us to be able to afford to stock the truck, pay any employees, we have, and keep the truck on the road! Usually it’s set to a 10 week turn so that we can pay our tool bill, And afford to get whatever promotions that are going on at the time!

    How do you apply? or where do you apply?

  • @SuperDaddy069

    So a truck account is between the truck owner and not snap on

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the most part! Sometimes Snapon credit finances truck accounts for franchisees, but for the most part, franchisees finance the truck accounts and negotiate terms with the account holders!

    • @SuperDaddy069
      @SuperDaddy069 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So truck account is between the owner and the buyer correct and what’s the start off limit

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends on the franchisee and the buyer! For me my term is 10 weeks, so as long as you can make a payment of at least 10% of what you purchased, you can take it off the truck

      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jeff! In Canada, I don’t believe we have the credit cards! But yes, it would be paid off through your dealer, but then you would owe whoever issued the credit card! In this case, Snapon credit. The dealer has a choice to either Repo, or Snapon credit can contract another repossession agent to pick it up

      @@SnaponToolsJosephHull Thanks for your responding! So I bought a Zeus for $3500 with the 22.2 software from a guy. That guy told me he bought the Zeus with snapon credit not with tool truck vendor credit. Is there any concern I should have? Since I am new to snapon and I really some info. Thanks!!

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally, I would be very concerned! Something that’s worth so much money off the truck, being sold at such a high discount, would make me think that the person who originally bought it off the truck didn’t pay for it! Snap on credit and franchisees do work hand-in-hand with each other, Snapon credit just finances things for longer than what a regular franchisee can afford to, if it wasn’t completely paid for through Snapon credit, it does reflect on the franchisee And they could re-possess if payment isn’t made

      @@SnaponToolsJosephHull that is terrible! The Zeus currently 22.2 software I assume it is updated recently which mean payment was made recently. He was a mechanics worked at a Land Rover dealer. He is like 50 years with kids. He told me he will pay the snapon credit line. So when I go to my dealer and do a update if they runs a serial number and know it is behind the payment they will just repo the Zeus I bought? Is there anything I can do to protect myself? Thanks!

    • @SnaponToolsJosephHull
      @SnaponToolsJosephHull  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, that is the case! Personally, I’d see what options you have to get your money back and a return, it’s one of the biggest pains in the behind of customers, and franchisees! No one wants to look like the bad guy, but also on the other hand, no small business wants to see another small business lose a significant amount of money! And that would definitely be it if it was gone unpaid. What I would recommend is contact Snapon credit or your franchisee, along with the part number, and the serial number to see if it pops up on a current contract. If so then go from there! If it is paid, you should be good to go.
