I have been watching your (wonderful!!) videos for a couple years and stupidly didn’t think to subscribe until recently. You two have such a warm way of sharing (that might have contributed to my Guerlain obsession). I was today years old when I watched this video snd learned about the Osmotheque... whaaaat? Mind blown! Some day I hope to journey here; in the meantime, thanks for taking your viewers along.
Thank you for sharing this special pilgrimage with your viewers and fans. What a privilege it must have been to sample works of art from throughout history. It truly must've been like stepping through a window in time. Congrats on that wonderful bottle of Mouchoir de Monsieur, as well. Please know that those of us who may never have an opportunity to make such a pilgrimage sincerely appreciate you taking us along with you.
@@WaftsfromTheLoft Dear Dan and Joe, I began to review this video again, and I did a double take at the 48 second mark. As you panned to the right, just after focusing on the Jean Patou briefcase, you reach a wooden shelf with a glass top over what looks like a small refrigerator. Several fragrance bottles are on the glass, and the one on the far left, is a bottle of Lalique Pour Homme le Faune. That fragrance introduced me to a larger world. I discovered it about 2-3 years after it’s release on a trip to Toronto. I forgot to pack cologne and purchased this fragrance in a downtown department store from a lady in men’s fragrances with a French accent. After discussing what I liked, she recommended Lalique Pour Homme le Faune. When Lalique discontinued it, I was sad. However, a few weeks ago, I purchased a mini from eBay. That’s the first time I’d smelled it in years. I was surprised to see a bottle in this video.
The music at the beginning reminds me of israel kamakawiwo'ole's version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Highly recommended listening, if u haven't already
Wafts from The Loft , awesome that you’ve tried Djedi, Iris Gris and Nombre Noir. I kept meaning to ask you to sample mine but never get around to it. Are there any other legendary perfumes that you haven’t smelled yet?
Merry Christmas gentlemen! Could you smell Apres L'ondee extrait? Did you like it? I got a bottle and it's a really beautiful and delicate thing. I haven't seen those pastel colors in this perfume in any other Guerlain. Right now Apres L'ondee and Mitsouko are my favorite Guerlain's.
Omg how heartbreaking it must be to smell a mesmerizing scent and not be able to buy it. I was thinking about visiting but I know it would kill me not able to recreate the scent. Do they sell ANY recreation?
It looks like someone decided on Chypre Mousse. I loved my sample and have been meaning to pick up a bottle for too long. I haven’t smell too much like it
Yes, there certainly are similarities. Although, the bitter oakmoss is such a big part of the personality of Mitsouko, and I don't find it nearly as prominent in Antiquity.
The world's a better place with Dan and Jo taking us on such amazing olfactory journeys...
That guerlain store looks absolutely heavenly wish I was there don't think I would have any money left if I visited that store
It really is stunning
Guerlain - That must be what heaven looks like
Amazing that you got to smell both vintage Mitsouko and Iris Gris! An experience like no other. Loved the video guys!

Chypre Mousse! Fantastic! ♡
Looks like you had a great time. Really enjoyed watching. The Guerlain rue Saint-Honore store is nice too. I bought Derby from there a few months ago.
Lovely stuff. We certainly did have a good time, almost ate ourselves into oblivion as well.
at 14:20 typical french backhanded compliment lol you guys are too nice.
I think 'amateurs' in French means 'lovers', as in 'lovers of Guerlain'
The music at the beginning reminds me of israel kamakawiwo'ole's version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Highly recommended listening, if u haven't already
This was a real treat! Thoroughly enjoyed your vlog and it looks like you had a fabulous time! I must try and visit Osmetique next time I go to Paris.
Thanks Claire. You definitely should! It’s a real treasure trove!
I have the Novaya Zarya chypre on order..will describe it when it arrives
Thanks!
You smelled Iris Gris. I am jealous!
Ooo what a splendid episode! Did you know you’ve just been tagged by Smurfygurly to do your top three niche?
Thanks! I didn't know, thanks for the heads up!
Wonderful no clones no click bait just passion and something a little Penguin Cafe ish 😀
Thanks!
Outstanding. This is your best video yet. Did you try Djedi?
Yes, we tried in the Guerlain store! The best thing in the shop by a long way!
Wafts from The Loft , awesome that you’ve tried Djedi, Iris Gris and Nombre Noir. I kept meaning to ask you to sample mine but never get around to it. Are there any other legendary perfumes that you haven’t smelled yet?

Sadly I’ve never smelt the extrait!

It's wonderful stuff, very unique and rewarding
Wonderful gents! 😊 Thank you
Beat you Rich 😉

Any resemblance of Mitsouko to ALD Antiquity?
Yes, there certainly are similarities. Although, the bitter oakmoss is such a big part of the personality of Mitsouko, and I don't find it nearly as prominent in Antiquity.
So do they sell nombre noir?
Ha! No, they'd be rich if they did!
@@WaftsfromTheLoft theres a bottle of it on Etiket's website for 2700
Omg 😮
Seriously, guys! 3 weeks since your last video? Where have you been wafting about?
Sorry! We’ve been busy, but we are filming a few this weekend
“You are amateurs, SUCH amateurs” hahah
Sounds a bit mean, but I think she means amateurs as in ‘lovers of’
I also beat Rich!

*O*
Djedi???
Yep, she let us try it in the Guerlain store
@@WaftsfromTheLoft What is your impression of Djedi?
😆 Abandon the music please....but I adore the vid! 💕
You guys have the best friendship. So awesome! I'm going to keep an eye out for my sniffing partner.
Thanks, we do have a good time!
Not sure calling someone an amateur is compliment. haha but language is tricky. NICE VID AS USUAL
Thanks! I think 'amateur' in French means 'lover', as in 'lover of Guerlain'
Brussels sprouts.
Perfume Porn. Fin. 🖤
Hahahaa!
First!
*WOTS THIS*
Indeed, "amateurs" usually means "fans" in French. 😂
ahahhaha 😭
Sure they are nice but the only brand that matters is TOM FORD.
HAHA. GOOD ONE
Lol ... thanks for the laugh
@@dieselboy77 I'm sorry your sense of smell is limited and not able to appreciate the masterpieces that Tom Ford offers.
