Yes, if it is within the limits: Up to 7kg and 56cm x 36cm x 23cm + laptop bag as personal item. Usually they are not strict when it comes to the personal item as long as you keep it reasonable.
Flew wit them twice 2 disasters. First time security at transit took almost 2 hours marking me run for the last bus others seemed to have missed the flight because they where not as fast or though they had enough time to transit. On the way back a delayed flight made a lot of trouble and the guy that was supposed to guide us spoke no understandable English but used so many doors our group of ~ 20 people was reduced to less than 10 in minutes then I lost him. I am a quick walker and used to a fast pace at work. People with less than good mobility must had have a horrible experience.
Etihad flights were really excellent when I used them last, a few years ago. I would certainly recommend them for long haul flights. There was that extra comfort, making a long journey, easier to cope with.
