Makes me think about my half brother. We have the same father but his mom and our dad had issues getting along. One day i was about 4 and he was 8 at the time and i went with our dad to go see him , boy he must have been waiting by the window of his house because the moment he saw our dad's truck pull up he came out running in his power ranger undies and was jumping up and down yelling daddy just so excited to see him. He immediately brought out a bat and t-ball and the three of us starting playing in the front of his house and we were all having the time of our life. Dad went to go ask his mom if he can start picking him up on the weekends to have both me and my brother spend time with him , my dad was giving her cash for child support and she told our dad basically no he cannot go over the weekend with us and they started arguing so my dad in his anger told her if that is the case she can stick the child up her you know what and we left. That was one of the saddest days of my life because i knew my half brother will never see his dad again. And i hated the fact that i got to have our dad all to myself , i felt guilty that i had our father's love and not him. There were times my dad drove by his house down by flagler somewhere down between south miami and little havana but did not stop by his house and i would try to reason with my dad as a child why don't you stop by to say hello , but he would tell me he couldn't. Till this day i still think about what could've been. The year after that happened my half brother lost the only other man in his life at the time which was his grandfather from his mom's side who while changing a tire on the highway got ran over by an 18 wheeler. I still pray for him at times
A time gone by but it's meaning and realness is priceless I thank God I was exposed to the old school music and ways even thoe my life is not so good today I never forgot that old school standard as if it was a normal thing !!!
