I've just recently purchased a 177 version and must say its one of the best pcp rifle I've shot I highly rated these and there a fair price gun for what you get
I bought this gun (in .22) just a couple of weeks ago from my local gunsmiths and have joined a gun club not too far from where i live. Yes the auto safety is a tad bit silly but it's not really a big issue for me. This is my first air rifle i've bought after soooooooooooooooooooo many years without even shooting. My RM8 was listed/being sold as "Secondhand" by the gunsmiths so i got it just that little bit cheaper. It even came with a quality "Hawke" scope and i've since added a bipod on the underside rail. At the gun club i shoot at i'm hitting groupings of 6-8 shots the size of a 5p coin at 30-35 yards (but i do need an updated eye test for stronger glasses lol). I can not fault this gun at all and love that on a full charge it'll quite happily fire upto around 180 shots. Only niggles for me is it's a little heavy in weight, the silly auto safety catch and the cocking handle on mine has worked loose twice now (I got the guys at the gunsmiths to sort this out) but so far i'm extremely happy with my RM8. UPDATE------- Had to return the .22 RM8 back to the gun smiths yesterday due to the bolt handle problem. The gun was exchanged for the .177 calibur with the longer barrel.
Excellent review. As someone with hearing impairment I struggled to separate your voice from the guitar background music towards the start of video. Really enjoyed your review one of the best on TH-cam. I’m quite a clumsy person and worried if I get the polymer stock I could break it. So hoping they do the wood stock also on the UC. Returning to the hobby since the mid eighties, there appears to have been an exponential growth in technology. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
I have an FX Crown in .22 FAC when I bought the RM8 in .177 for my Grandson to shoot on the range, fitted a reasonable scope, I was amazed on seeing his groups, at 35 yards it was on a par with the FX a ragged one hole group, unbelievable at that price (£426 I paid new) he's only very slightly better with the FX with a top quality scope, if you haven't bought one but you're in the market you can't do better at this price or even a couple of hundred more.
As the regulator is set to 140 bar in uk for the uc must be the short barrel so they turn the regulator up and lose the high shot count could of opened the transfer port up instead and keep the highest shot count but never mind 80 shots is good for hunting
I've a .177 Varmint that I bought 2nd hand in 2019 c/w scope and 3 litre diver's tank for a good price. Rifle was about 1yr old and hadn't been used much. It's a great workhorse and accurate too. I had an 'o' ring fail in the regulator after I'd had it about a year. Rebuilt the reg. myself since when it's been good as gold. I also have the Walther Reign. A lot more money. I enjoy this one too but it has been the more troublesome.
I've had one of these for a couple of years now & I prefer it over my Weihrauch for shooting rats. It is unerringly accurate & joy to use. I have a .177 version which is deadly over 35yds (as far as I need) using H&N Barracuda Extreme pellets, which after testing several brands, I found to be the most consistent.
Thank you realy good and imformative review i bought a second hand one this afternoon abs good scope bipod hard case 2 mags pellets etc chap said he shot about 4 mags and the safety done his head in 300 english pounds oh and a stirup pumb it will make a nice backup to the r10 regards liam
Hello and good morning . This rifle is on my shortlist for a second PCP . I already own a hw100 kt but would like another cheaper rifle that doesnt mind getting wet /or knocked whilst out in the field . Did you happen to chronograph your test gun as some comments on forums say it can be rather low on power ( 10.5 max ) Kind regards 👍
that dam auto safety , i notice it got you every shot ,i removed mine ,just a small metal clip inside ,but a good gun ,based on the umarex air magnum 850
@@paulmolyneux4216 hi paul did mine a few years ago ,not hard ,if you look at tw chambers air gun spairs umarex 850 magmun ,parts drawing ,part nunber sf165 ,its a small opperating leaver 25 mm 30 mm long 5mm wide ,take that out ,leave the safety button whare it is ,it wont engage with out sf165 hope that helps you

Don't worry - the stock is not plastic. It's wood covered in polymer, with an amazing feel. Good luck!
Thanks
That's a good review not chit chat 👍 executed clean very easy to follow .
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching
Great review mate👌
Thanks

What wouls you recommend. Walther rm8 or airventuri. I am unsure which to buy.
Glad you like it
@@r.b.6619 The RM8 is a very good good gun IMO.

I have the same it's the most accurate rifle I've owned in 48 years.
Do you think its better than the airventuri avenger?
Yes
I have the wood stock version. Love it.
Glad you like it
Is it a good rifle .can it be charged with a stirrup pump and what sort of money should I pay for it .regards 😊
Good review thank you!
Thanks
That safety after each reload is a pain in the arse.
Agreed
@@IRateGuns Not if you actually remember to do it.
I just bought this love it so accurate
Would help if you turn the music off
good call, all my new videos have minimal music
good review!
Thanks
Will a handpump charge up the 200cc buddy bottle air tank fitted to the walther rm8 sub 12 ft lb ?
Can’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t
Yes, but don't let it go below a 3rd
It's waiting me toto grab here tomorrow I can't wait
How did you get on?

Sorry I don’t
You get 80 full power shots with the uc
👍
Incorrect, I have an fac version in .22 & it’s turning out 22ftlb
Cool
Did you chronograph this rifle? Thanks.
Good luck with the channel. In my opinion, background music is very annoying. ATB MMMD
The music has been removed from the new videos
Can you get to the hammer spring easily?
Sorry not a clue

This was useful
What distance was the target shot over?
So it’s a compact RM8?
No, it’s a RM8
Como fasso pra conseguir uma dessas
👍
Could you rate the Gamo Phox/GX40 please?
if you send me one
I have both a gx40 and an rm8uc.would rate either tbh. The Walther is definitely heavier but both shoot really well.
I've just had a go with the RM8 and it's a lovely bit of kit, very accurate a little heavy but not too bad
Looks better in the flesh than on video
WHY THE 'MUSIC'??
I know, music has been removed from my new videos
Which rifle would you rate best, the Kral NP02 or the Walther RM8
Dunno never shot a kral, but the RM8 is very good
Thanks for your advice.
How to order pls.
Go to a shop?!?
turn the annoying music off
Ok, music has been removed from my new videos
enjoyed the review but ffs whoever thought to add the music needs to be punished lol
😐
great gun BUT wood stock always :D
👍
That music beat me, sorry.
You and everyone else, I’ve changed it on the newer ones
To be honest after the way the Germans were towards us over brexit I will never give them my money against
They do make good guns though
The Germans do make good guns I’ll definitely be spending my GBP buying more of them.
No
