    Nicely done. That was a good idea to cover the front of their tank as well to keep the fish calm. I like your tanks. It's fun to see so many baby angel fish. The community tank looked beautiful with the dwarf lily pads, plants and all the fish! 🌿🐠👍

    Hey great video. Those 2 little Angels I got from you in October are huge now. All cat fish doing well. Same as bristlnose. Keep up the great work Blake🐠🐟🦀

    Hey just come across this video. Has some great tips.
    I have a pair of angels in my community tank spawn a few times and I will be moving them to a smaller individual tank for their future. What size tank would you reccomend for a single adult pair ?

      The tank size isnt too much of a factor for a breeding pair, id just like to see 45cm / 18 inches tall at a minimum

    I just had 2 lay about a gagillion eggs on my anubius leaves today. So should I take the eggs out and put in a grow out tank. I've got a kribensis pair and the angels just laid eggs today.

    Hey , good stuff bro. I have a pair and i got one good spawn from them so far but the male seems to be aggressive towards the female and has her eye all cloudy , what can i do??

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would definitely separate until they are both 100% healed as any damage will continue to be picked on.
      Have plenty of hiding spaces so the female can get away

    What size tank do you keep the fry in, and is safe to keep multiple broods in the same tank if theyre about the same size?

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes i do, i keep them in a 15g / 60L tank

    What are your water parameters...? My angel pair lays eggs every 2 weeks and then nothing ever happens... They look fertile, not whitish, but never hatch and eventually get eaten by the parents or my pleco, after a few days... I was told, the eggs might need softer, more acidic water.. I have 7.6 ph and 330 TDS... and wondered how much yours differs from that... I will probably have to remove them into their own small tank, to have them breed successfully, but I want to know if I'm wasting my time, with my current tap water... in which case, moving them would do no good! Thanks for the video though! You got some pretty babies! 😍🐠

      Mine is 7 with 0 kh, so the substrate drops it to 6.6 or 6.7 Quite soft.
      I would definitely take out the pleco.
      The eggs can take 3 days to hatch. Another idea might be to leave the lights on the entire time so that the parents dont forget about the spawn

      @@BlakesAquatics I actually keep a spotlight on top of the tank, pointed at the spawn, so I don't have to adjust my automatic timer on my aquarium lights. That's the only way I even got to 3 days.. before they'd get eaten overnight, immediately... but now, it's like they lose interest and stop guarding the spawn or eat them after 3 days... I think I definitely need to set up some kind of tank cut with RO water or something... sorry to pester, but what substrate do you use? I think I can get my water to 7.0, but I will need help to lower it any further! Thanks for your help!

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheZenGinger not pestering at all. I reckon you have enough youtube credits to ask as many questions as you want.
      I use ada amazonia light. Since you want it down a fair way maybe you could use normal amazonia, just be wary it lets out some ammonia at first so maybe soak it in a bucket beforehand.
      Could also give it a go covering the sides of the tank, maybe its too strenuous guarding when people walk past regularly?

      @@BlakesAquatics ok thanks! I'll try it... I just wanted one batch to raise, and it's been almost a year of disappointment! So, I'll be extra grateful, if matching your parameters works for me! Either way... You're awesome! 😉👍

      @@TheZenGinger fingers crossed for you. Once they figure it out once youll be able to set your watch to them. For example now with this pair they have had 4 spawns and its almost systematic that i decided i needed more, netted them into this tank, 2 days later had eggs

    Fyi, that is not a koi angel.That is a gold marble angel. Proper Koi Angels dont have as much marbling pattern, and they do not contain (striped gene) which basically means they do not have patterns on the fins.

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks yeah I couldn't remember the name at the time so I just said koi instead of a long pause.

      For majority of people watching it won't make a difference and it served the purpose of identifying each one.
