This is a weird question, but seems like a decent place to ask it. I’m in a position to buy a nice used 07 400ex from a good friend, but also have kicked around the idea of ordering a 25 Raptor 700r SE. I have a lot of riding experience, just no experience with either of these quads.
@Bajablast_scuba_cat the raptor is the 400exs big brother almost. Like in my opinion the power curves are similar the raptor is just literally double the power haha I have owned both and I prefer the 400 over the raptor. It handles alot better. However a brand new machine has ALOT of perks! It's so reliable as long as you take care of it. I think in your position it's whatever you want to spend. $10,000 on a new machine or $4,000-6,000 on a minty 400ex. Both good routes!
Hey man what age do you think would be good enough to handle a 400ex I’m 14 right now but I’m worried it might be too much power to handle and I might flip the quad. If I can hear your thoughts that would be great
If you have ridden quads in the past 400ex isn’t that bad I’m 5’5 and 90 ponds and I can ride mine wel. If you have never had a quad before go with a 300ex or raptor 350
My neighbor has one for sale for $500 two tires don’t hold air, plastic is pretty messed up, and the seat is nothing but a slab of foam, but it runs and drives fine. good deal?
Hmf competition slip on. I'm a big HMF fan 🤙just get the performance one unless you want to change volume of your quad then you would want the competition
Hey I’m 5,6 155 and I ride a lot of dirt bikes like crf150rs and stuff, I have ridden quads and can rode them really good but they were mostly raptor 250s. Do you think I could get a trx400 as my first quad or go with something smaller?
for sure, I know this comments late. You can start on pretty much anything. Quads are hard to mess up if you respect them. I started on a 250 2 stroke dirtbike after only ever riding a Polaris quad. 400ex is like the perfect power balance
I have a 400ex but it needs to be tuned badly, probably rejet but I’m not that confident with those things and I live in Europe so very little people know how to tune these quads😢
Never seen anyone take such good care of their quad on TH-cam🤘
Looks may be deceaving haha it put it to work but I do routine maintenance and cleaning! Haha thanks
Brewer Offroad that’s good
Matthew GAmon hes really nice to his quads

At 7:24...Nice recovery Bro. You stayed calm and handled it like a Boss. And that could have been really bad. Impressive.
i love videos like this
Love the new cam angle and useless cleaning count.
I have 2 400ex a 2000 and a 2003, love the 450 too though!!Great vid keep ‘em coming!
I didn't think the 400ex's were this wheelie happy!! That is crazy
They aren't crazy but they have a light front end they are fun to wheelie 🤘
Liked the video, your riding area looks fun, hills and creek crossings. #savesportquads
Thanks I appreciate it!
Pretty good looking trail and this helps me alot for looking at a four wheeler to get so im honestly looking at a 400 ex
3:00 looks like you could make some good little hills right there to the left of the screen 4:03 there to the left also
I have a video going on all of my trails on my channel go check it out! some nice hill climbs on there

What exhaust do you have

How much acres do you ride on?
Do you think a 400ex is a good starter quad for a 16 year old that has little experience on a quad and a pit bike.
Get a 250ex lol
What’s the age range?
Age range for? Sorry the video is alittle old I dont remember everything I said haha
The age range for the bike

They help keep the mud down some!
