I'm glad I ran across your video. I had this happen on a brand new SLS holster that I got from Safariland years ago (my first foray into their platform) but instead of exchanging the holster they just refunded my money and ghosted me. I'm just getting into a new 6360 lv3 holster so there's no excuse now. Cheers.

I had a hell of a time getting my locking nech out. It felt like I was going to break it. Your video did the trick! Thanks brother 👊🏻

First and foremost, thanks for your service brother and thanks for the video.
One of the main issues with Safariland Holsters is "And I don't know to what level" are put together in Mexico than sent back to Florida (?) for final inspection. I gave Safariland my exact pistol model and waited nearly 3 weeks to receive my holster and it doesn't sit all the way in the holster. Mine model comes fitted with an extended threaded barrel, but it seems they built it around a sub-compact model.

This just happened to my als holster after 8 years of use. Came to TH-cam and found your video. I’ll be reaching out to Safariland for for replacement. On side note if you run an Acro this isn’t an issue. Since Acro sits taller than rmr there’s no room to push up on holster and remove gun without manipulating the release

I have the opposite problem, got a new holster and it doesn't really want to release the pistol when I depress the lock mechanism. At least not reliably or easily.

I'm having that same issue...have you found a solution? I'm about to take this thing apart, lol

Same! Im watching this to learn how to get to that part so I can maybe file it a bit in a few places and give it just enough room to release.

Getting that part is a real pain and it's super hard to see what's going on in most videos

I got a 6360 and for some reason the red dot hood wont click into place anymore. Both the ALS and SLS are working so not really a big deal but it just stopped locking on close. I see that there should be some plastic nub but it appears to have been sheered off if it was ever there to begin with. Did you have any similar issues when putting back together this holster?

I did not. Those plastic nubs can break off. 🤷‍♂️

Where did you get that ALS part at? I need to order one.

I contacted Safariland direct about needing to order it. They shipped it free. Said it was covered under warranty.

I think ZEV duty slide will be a good replacement of your glock slide. ZEV duty slide will not damage locking tab inside safariland holster like your current slide do..

I recently had a Safariland ALS holster wrapped, however, during the reassembling process, the ALS wasn’t put together correctly. How would you approach this type of issue with Safariland?
Great video and thank you for putting it up.

That’s a bummer. I would contact whoever wrapped it and have them fix it. If they won’t or it’s not possible, I’m sure you could just reach out to Safariland for help.

So I am trying to see the problem here and how it applies to the part of the als that drops into that ejection port without having to buy the holster. You didn't show that part on the old als so that sucks.
But from what I can see on the new one, it looks like just a little bit of that nub drops in to begin with. Couple that with the less surface area of your gun in that part of the port because of that flat edge of your slide that runs to the serations and the port, looks like that lessens the contact area for that plastic nub. So between the little bit of plastic and little contact area of your slide, feels like you don't get very much positive locking to begin with when its brand new.
I guess the serations filing it off over time makes quick work of that plastic. I feel like you just need a traditonal rounded edge slide or you will keep having to replace that als fairly often. Maybe even get rid of the serations but plenty others have those on their guns and they as far as it looks like don't seem to have that problem. I don't think the design of the holster is sposed to make you have to replace the als like at all.
I wouldn't feel confident if someone tried to brute force that gun from your holster with a new als and much less after you been drawing for a while, that it will keep the gun locked in regardless. Plus that plastic nub doesn't look too thick either. Interesting stuff to analyze before buying.

Thanks for the comment. Sorry I didn’t show enough. But you pretty much got it. Yes, the slide work I had done was wearing the surface of the plastic. I agree with you on trusting it, that is why I don’t carry that gun anymore for work. Cheers.
