"A year from now" - Haha! During Squirtle CDay I purged my stack in one day. Missed out three good encounters and a hundo sunglasses Squirtle, I had no idea I spun that many stops. 🤣
Something I've done with my research stack is to try and fill it with things that have easy excellent/great windows. Then, when I get a spinda task or anything that needs a bunch of excellent in a row, I have a way to get them easily. for nearly a month I had a bowtie lapras at the front of my stack, which was excellent because it kept jumping out of the ball, meaning I got 2 or 3 spinda on it easily before it finally caught. I also ahve several snorlax and onix in the stack, and I'm pretty sure a TON of adventure week stuff is in there too.
Absolutely love this video, such a fun idea to open from the stack while visiting Hard Offs. Great to see the backstory to the Gameboy Advance you did mods with too!
Eco Town Hard-off. Out in Hachioji. Yes, from Akiba it takes around an hour on the train. Many people consider it inaka 田舎. But there is a big Pogo community out this direction (and pretty friendly as well).
pokemon pinball r/s/e was 2/3s of my childhood. the ost and sfx just being the gen3 ost and sfx really cemented these sounds and songs in my mind, i can practically hear a pokemon pinball round going in my head. i'm working on an edit right now where i'll actually be using the game over window and sounds and stuff as a bit, i'm betting it'll pan out pretty damn well. love the gba era so much, even if it is mostly nostalgia i will never not look back on just about every game i played on gba with love. my first two games i ever owned personally were minish cap and pokemon ruby, as they were gifted to me alongside my first ever own personal console (that wasn't a hand-me-down), my red gba. just, peak gaming days there.
It's nice to see some more videos from Japan! Looks like you got yourself some good deals. It was lots of fun to watch, and what you did with that GBA turned out great, too! By the way, I heard there's another big Hard-Off in Kawasaki. You might want to check that one out next time ^^ It also seems Akiba is becoming more and more of a tourist trap, but I'm not sure where else to check. Ikebukuro? Nakano? Next time in Japan I'd love to get Pokemon Cards (new ones, too) but I heard that's super difficult right now...
How dope would it be if Pokemon go actually put a mystery box in the shop where once it's purchased it becomes a research with 10 rewards & the encounters could be ANYTHING. Mythicals, Legendaries, Costume & event pokemon, Shinys etc... This actually would be an awesome idea.
You could have catch all those sableye in catch 3x stardust event or new 4x stardust catch bonus event for a lot more stardust. Just a suggestion. Also congratulations on your video games supplies in Japan.
Imagine walking in one of the stores and hear hear someone tap you on the shoulder and say “excuse me the store is now closed, please exit the building”
Genera tip with doing this. If you gae a berry to your first pokemon in you're stack it will flag it as your top one. Once you hut 100 in your stack, the top pokemon gers deleted. 100 fills pretty quickly- im honestly surprised he hadn't lost a ton of pokemon.
Prices in Japan opposed to a couple of years ago is actually crazy. There's been so many scalpers and resellers now that stores have been getting picked clean, so all prices have been going up steadily.
Wait if you do a quick catch and don't know if it worked it just means the Pokemon is going to the stack? I always assumed it just ran away like when I would try to catch while I was in the car and I had no chance to try to catch it again
I'm amazed you took so long to get your stack full. I almost always need to catch my (full) stack every community day (to get the xp or stardust bonus)
Curious to know what the name of the place you went to that you got the green version from that was cheaper several years ago? Or which Hard off location it was?
That always got me about the different currencies. The yen feels like it's expensive when you see them anywhere between 100 to 1000+ but from what you've shown on this vid, it's not that much in US dollars.
I was hunting for this kinda stuff Akihabara a couple of weeks ago! I remember the prices from your videos, but caved on a 4980 yen copy of Crystal. I did also buy a stupidly high priced Alolan Raichu & Raichu team up card but we don't talk about that.
Hey nick just watched the video and loved it. Im currently Hard Off hunting myself up in northern Japan and literally just brought a copy of Red for 550 yen from Hard Off in Aomori. They also had blue and green for 1000yen and yellow for 1500yen. Just was so cool I brought it today and watched your video now
Was also at a Hard Off in Hilosaki earlier today and they had boxed gold, silver for 4400 yen and Crystal for 8000 yen. I didn't buy hoping to find it again on my travels, hope it doesn't come back to bite me. I have photos of them if u wanted to see aswell
I never really thought about it but I really wish I had the ability to recollect the old pokemon games I lost to a house fire but they are so damn expensive now. There is a shop in my town with only one Blue version still in the box and its almost $300
Wait....only 100? Does it just throw them away after that?! I really wish it said how many and let you cycle through, I've been saving them for probably a year or two because they're trash, but when I need something specific for a special research I catch a few to try and see if I have what I need.
The "Liquor Off" "I hardly know her!" Part had me Rollin 🤣
Killed me with the "This is the biggest Hard-Off I've ever seen" line
The pause got me because I wasn't expecting him to acknowledge it lol
PAUSE
"this is not the first hard-off I've been to"
i laughed HARD because i was thinking it, as he said it (immediately after the maid cafe comment)
The junk section of the hard off XD
Crushing it with the content lately across both channels! Thanks for the entertainment!!
“Oops I walked into a maid cafe” 🤣
Totally by accident....let me just cut the camera off.😂
How is that not an anime title
Lol
Nice to see Gio aka Reversal with you & Tom again I have missed seeing him on your adventures.
"LIQUOR OFF"
Tom: "I hardly know her.."
....KruseShip's a treasure, lmao
So good to see you back. I hope everything is going well for you!
"A year from now" - Haha! During Squirtle CDay I purged my stack in one day. Missed out three good encounters and a hundo sunglasses Squirtle, I had no idea I spun that many stops. 🤣
i am not proud of how loud i laughed at "i hardly know her"
lol same. it was such a good one tbh
LMAO yes
Tom is hilarious. Im still laughing

"Liquor off"
"I hardly know her"
Haaaaaaaaaaaa! That's a good one!
14:19 When you use a golden razz on a research task mon. Lol
The "blank" off jokes made me laugh. Especially the liquor off and Tom's comment on that. 😂😂
Absolutely love this video, such a fun idea to open from the stack while visiting Hard Offs. Great to see the backstory to the Gameboy Advance you did mods with too!
“I hardly know her” LMAO
The second set of ghost pokemon were from hoen tour as i remember getting a shiny sableye from research that event

Nick the travel vlogs are always the best but this one might be my favorite TrnrTips vid of all time.
Don't do this. You can only stack 100 of these encounters, and it clears the oldest ones.
pokemon pinball r/s/e was 2/3s of my childhood. the ost and sfx just being the gen3 ost and sfx really cemented these sounds and songs in my mind, i can practically hear a pokemon pinball round going in my head. i'm working on an edit right now where i'll actually be using the game over window and sounds and stuff as a bit, i'm betting it'll pan out pretty damn well. love the gba era so much, even if it is mostly nostalgia i will never not look back on just about every game i played on gba with love. my first two games i ever owned personally were minish cap and pokemon ruby, as they were gifted to me alongside my first ever own personal console (that wasn't a hand-me-down), my red gba. just, peak gaming days there.
Oh that was fun. Wish I had of known about those stores when I was in Japan
Tom’s smirks every time Nick says Hard Off makes the vid!! Sorry Nick, you’re good on you’re own, but that takes it to another level 🤣🤣
It's nice to see some more videos from Japan!

loved to see you final clear out that stack hahaha. Fun way to do it as well, gonna have to hunt some games and consoles at Hard Off on a future trip

"The junk section of this hard-off" is a hilarious concept
That was way more fun than I expected for some reason
You could have catch all those sableye in catch 3x stardust event or new 4x stardust catch bonus event for a lot more stardust. Just a suggestion. Also congratulations on your video games supplies in Japan.
12:30 ...Is that Auld Lang Syne in the middle of August?
Rain in Tokyo is actually surprisingly soothing at times if you embrace it for the day =D
I really like these kinds of videos, where you tour Japan !!
that “hardly know her” might’ve been the best placed one i’ve seen and he didn’t even have to read it
That's Reversal!!
Nostalgia I used to have the old Pokémon pin ball with the battery powered rumble inside the Cartridge
Trapinch was actually my first shiny getting back into this after only playing a short glimpse of 2016. Flygon is a goat 🤞🏽
Imagine walking in one of the stores and hear hear someone tap you on the shoulder and say “excuse me the store is now closed, please exit the building”
The Sableye and Shuppet were from Hoenn Tour in February :)
this was a great video idea!!! i really enjoyed both aspects of the video. Thank You for good content
Such a great video idea! I have such a hard time stacking tasks cause that orange bar bugs the crap out of me! 🤣 Nice to see you again. Take care!
6:20 I literally said pause at the same time you did LOL
Genera tip with doing this. If you gae a berry to your first pokemon in you're stack it will flag it as your top one. Once you hut 100 in your stack, the top pokemon gers deleted.
100 fills pretty quickly- im honestly surprised he hadn't lost a ton of pokemon.
The sableye were most likely Hoeen tour and the flower crown pikachu came right after with the spring into spring event both in march
9:17 what app is that? That did translation
Prices in Japan opposed to a couple of years ago is actually crazy.
There's been so many scalpers and resellers now that stores have been getting picked clean, so all prices have been going up steadily.
How to get rich
1. Go to japan
2. Buy nerd sh*t
3. Go back home and resell
Wait if you do a quick catch and don't know if it worked it just means the Pokemon is going to the stack? I always assumed it just ran away like when I would try to catch while I was in the car and I had no chance to try to catch it again
Pokemon from research dont run away.
@@JamesWiseMagic omg you're right, I completely forgot this was all about pokemon from research only, nevermind haha
I'd laugh if it was TheRetroFuture who came through and cleaned out the GBAs. 😂
HEY !!! i have a challange try to find somewhan in Latvija / Kuldiga hope you do it bc you chould maybe find me or some other players
Bro yt recommend to me both of your channels, and I was watching this video so tripped like it isn't the same guy? Took a minute to realize lol
1:38 is that submarine navigation equipment?
Liquor Off seems like a GTA chain.
Second round of ghosts were prolly from Hoenn Tour in February
honestly I would get to like 10 in my stack and start panicking that I will soon reach the 100 limit
I'm amazed you took so long to get your stack full. I almost always need to catch my (full) stack every community day (to get the xp or stardust bonus)
“Remember to keep comments respectful and to follow our Community Guidelines”….. *Deletes ‘Hard Off’ Comment* 😒
Nice catches. Be safe on your travels
Congratulations Nick caught them All ur videos are amazing ‼️🌍
The ghost are from the event that featured primal Kyogre and primal Groudon
My soldering iron is begging to get in these old consoles and replace the capacitors and fix them.
Damn Metabots!?!? Theres something cool i haven't thought about in years 💫💫
Japan is great. My Scottish grandmother would be so pleased to know they play Auld Lang Syne to tell you to GTFO.
Curious to know what the name of the place you went to that you got the green version from that was cheaper several years ago? Or which Hard off location it was?
Is that some Jort Storm in the back ground music
Going on a 2k trip and hunting for 10$ savings is how life be
That always got me about the different currencies. The yen feels like it's expensive when you see them anywhere between 100 to 1000+ but from what you've shown on this vid, it's not that much in US dollars.
The balloon pikachu is probably from Taiwan event. Singapore balloons had more purple.
I was hunting for this kinda stuff Akihabara a couple of weeks ago! I remember the prices from your videos, but caved on a 4980 yen copy of Crystal.
I did also buy a stupidly high priced Alolan Raichu & Raichu team up card but we don't talk about that.
'i hardly know her'... excellent
Hard Off and others likeness are similar one we have at Del Amo Mall is called Book Off
What happened to trainer tips intro with the classic music he'd play? I always enjoyed that. It's all good. I'm just curious why it stopped?
The Sableye at 13:27 is a hundo lol
I would love to see you find the Nintendo that was before the Super NES!
What does a Let’s Go Pikachu/Let’s Go Eevee go for these days in Japan? - buying wise.
Pokemon pinball was my first experience with pokemon! 💚💚💚
Is that the Jort Storm instrumental in the background?
Edit: nvm its the song that Jort Storm sampled, Maniamaster by Lupus Nocte
Wont it tell you what event ut was from on the mon screen at bottom
Is that Reversal, haven't seen that guy in a while
Hey nick just watched the video and loved it. Im currently Hard Off hunting myself up in northern Japan and literally just brought a copy of Red for 550 yen from Hard Off in Aomori. My storage is always full around 50'ish Pokémon. I'm pretty sure they've changed that a while ago.
This is my jam! Thanks for sharing the experience
They should make an American version and call it "Hard On" 😂😂😂
lmfaoooo the "pause" was good
Been to Japan a few times, never had a Hard Off
I never really thought about it but I really wish I had the ability to recollect the old pokemon games I lost to a house fire but they are so damn expensive now. There is a shop in my town with only one Blue version still in the box and its almost $300
HO hachioji has always been great.....far too expensive now though.
I want to visit Japan so much 😭😢you are so lucky ❤️❤️I love your videos
Amazing video Nick
1 year oh my..... I catch my stack every month if not less. 😊
Seven years and you're still the best Pokémon Go youtuber ❤
Nah he’s like 3rd
Wait....only 100? Does it just throw them away after that?! I really wish it said how many and let you cycle through, I've been saving them for probably a year or two because they're trash, but when I need something specific for a special research I catch a few to try and see if I have what I need.
Wow, it's Reversal!
I would die if I see a HGSS game in on of these store. I really want one
Now I know where I’m going when I visit Japan
Those stores look awsome, I'd get some gameboys if I could.
Liquor off is so crazy😂😂
I thought 200 was the max, i probably lost out on some Pokémon 😂
Also, couldn’t imagine not knowing there is a shiny in my stack haha.
everyone passed up his liquor i hardly know her joke
classic
using a golden razz to catch a research Pokémon is crazy
So jealous you can be in japan for so long
God damn Tom is a legend hahahaha
