  • @Legoguy9875

With Clive and Wrench, I think a really good way to address the health issue (apart from what you suggested) would be to move the meter itself up to the top left where the collectible counters are. It just feels odd to have such an important element crammed at the bottom while the counters are displayed large and in-charge at the top (especially in the context of a 3D collectathon, where I'd usually be checking my completion stats more often than health). Having the health meter on the top left with the collectible counters wrapping around it would be a good compromise, since then you're getting all the necessary information from one quick glance of the HUD, rather than needing to dart your eyes around every corner.
Does look like a fun game despite that though. Might consider it next time I'm in the mood for a 3D platformer.

Platformers have always been my favorite genre of all time, so to see the amount of platformers growing over the past years really brings a tear to my eye.
It also helps that many of these platformers stand out from the crowd with their own unique flavor of gameplay and visuals (especially Hell Pie, because it reminds me of 6th generation platformers, where, not every platforming adventure has to be all colorful and cheery)
It may be a while before I acquire these games mentioned personally, but I will definitely keep them in mind, and I am also interested in seeing other platformers be brought up in a follow-up video.

Toree 3D also has a sequel, Toree 2 and two free expansions, Toree Jumbled Jam and Toree Genesis. I think all of that adds up to like a small, but full sized game. For 2 bucks total!
Also, Toree and Super Kiwi are made by the same person, and Super Kiwi 64 is a sequel to another Nintendo 64 style collectathon, Kiwi 64 (which is only one level but it's free), and sort of a continuation of story of Macbat 64, which is also a free Nintendo 64 style collectathon (this has several levels and more of a story).

I hope to see way more of these videos! It can be difficult to stay in touch with all indie games of genres that interest you nowadays, and videos like these really help and are very fun too watch :). You talking about games you enjoy is just always a good time!

In contrast to horror games, the quality of indie action platformers is improving year by year.I'm very happy.

the funny thing about this indie game craze is
it's only recent because all the big games only released recently
which is a good thing, considering the things pizza tower did with its development time

Finally someone saying something good about Clive n wrench I freaking loved that game so much

Clive N' Wrench basically looks like all the major ps1 and ps2 era platformers combined. I was kinda getting a Blinx vibe with the level designs and story notes.
Hell Pie basically looks like if somebody was a Vivzie Pop fan and said "what would a Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel game be like?"

There's an indie game called Hobo Cat Adventures. It's a 3D platformer which seems to mix Conker with Dark Souls. Not sure if it's any good but could be an interesting game for a second episode like this.

Conveyance in general is a major problem in Clive n Wrench’s combat. The first boss uses bright silver projectiles on an icy background and I had to strain my eyes to see what I was supposed to be dodging the whole time. You’d think that would be easy to catch during development and change.

My guess is The 3d platformer got its biggest popularity during the mid and end of 2000s, meaning they're now ripe for a 20 years nostalgia comeback.
