- The New Zealand Special Air Service, abbreviated as the NZSAS, was formed on 7 July 1955 and is the special forces unit of the New Zealand Army, closely modelled on the British Special Air Service (SAS). It traces its origins to the Second World War and the famous Long Range Desert Group that New Zealanders served with.
The New Zealand Government states that NZSAS is the "premier combat unit of the New Zealand Defence Force" and it has been operationally deployed to locations including the Pacific region, Afghanistan and the jungles of South-East Asia. Individual members of the NZSAS have received honours and awards, most notably the Victoria Cross for New Zealand awarded to Corporal Willie Apiata. In 2004, the unit was awarded the United States Presidential Unit Citation for its contribution in Afghanistan.
The NZSAS was accorded regimental status in 2013. It has the responsibility of conducting counter-terrorism and overseas special operations, and performing the disposal of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive hazards for military and civilian authorities.

Almost a hit, but Aussie one is very close of a release too
I never thought that you would do NZSAS thank u some much I love it
In military terms, New Zealand has adopted a policy of ENORMOUS budget cuts over the past 20 years.
It retains zero combat-capable aircraft List of active New Zealand military aircraft - (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_active_New_Zealand_military_aircraft) and only two long-range offensive naval assets (List of active Royal New Zealand Navy ships - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_active_Royal_New_Zealand_Navy_ships)
So....what are they going to do?
Stand on the beach with their thumb out or ask big brother Australia if they can borrow keys to the Falcon?
New Zealand's Finest.
KNOCK KNOCK? WHO IT IS? ITS HYPE, AND IM BACK!
Gotta love the new thumbnnails.
Whats interesting is that with New Zealand being such a small country population wise that they still have a pool to choose candidates from that are a cut above.
@MALA2243 Truly amazing. =)
Being a country that is heavily involved with hunting and fishing I guess this sort of activity would follow suit.
At the end of the day of these activies a cold beer is rewarding!
Yea I'd say quite a few of those guys in the unit , especially the ones who were raised on the farm and are from rural farming communities, would most probably have grown up with firearms and hunting all their lives... Interesting point you made about that, because my uncle who was nzsas in Vietnam and was a very avid hunter... In fact if he wasnt at work he was always up the bush pighunting or shooting deer... And getting me to carry it out for him...💯😂
New Zealand crew checking in 🤙
Good to see that they are following suit just like the British SAS.

I’m fairly sure that they use use 416s. I might be wrong though.
@@super_3410 they trialed hk417 when the nzdf were selecting a dmr.
But they currently use tricked out lmts
I love how the song keeps saying "the original" when the NZ SAS was literally the third unit named SAS to be established.
Its a fair point

@@hayesywxm guess who were along side the SAS during thier first missions in 1940?... NZ. They also adopted some of the NZ units tactics too. They we're all figuring it out together which I'm sure they still do. 1980 attack on the Iranian embassy SAS deployed and I believe thier were 3 kiwi SAS men in that team.
@@kiwibird8441 ok mate its jokes chill out
@MALA2243 ok mate its jokes chill out
I want to know about the use of fluorescent stick that members wear in their childhood.
Originally for seeing in the dark lol
They are used to tag stuffs usually by color code at night, such as entry points, danger zones, IEDs, etc. But they are commonly used to tag cleared rooms in CQB.

Warriors!
the king is back!!!
V.B.U.S.
I still am wondering why they are using PVS-21c instead of the new ones.
NVGs are almost personal choice, a lot DEV guys still picking 31s instead the GPNVGs, the main reason is the weight, for longer operations or daylight missions, 31s are more suitable or comfortable. So I believe some of the dudes prefer the 21s for own reasons
MHS Productions “Eye examines”
One word.... money

If i am a foreigner with new zealand citizenship, can i join this unit?
Im not sure, about Special Operations, but you can join the military
@@MHSProductions thanks
Colombian SOF or SWCC please?
Nice one editor
I will like to join so bad but because of work and and my family i just wouldn't be able to leave them for 9 months. I was searching to see if nz had a reservist unit for the special forces but they don't which sucks as other countries do have
It’s because all tier 1 SMUs need personal to be 100% committed that’s why tier 1 units don’t have reserve components
@@chrisjackson7137 yeah true. Obviously it's for the country's security, but will be so good to at least have a try, but probably will never be possible
@@MB-nu6pg no disrespect to you but I think the best thing I was told by my mentor was if your not able to put everything on the line for the unit then your not the right guy there looking for
@@chrisjackson7137 yeah exactly my friend. That's what i think. It will be amazing to try the special forces, but the country cannot risk its security just to make my day happy ahahah
1 about indian SF please
What editing software do you use?
@MHSProductions any chances your going to upload previous taken down videos to an alt site? Great work btw!
Sadly not, I miss the ROKSF and GSG9 videos bruv, but still in my mind bring them back as close as possible as the original edit
