Thanks a lot for this. My family background is Mexican and the major stuff I hear in Flamenco is what most reminds me of the Mexican music I've heard in the background all my life. This will be a fun one to learn y tocar por me abuelita.
Fantastic tutorial. I have the book and when I listen to Juan's CD, it does not sound like the written piece in his book. The way you play it is exactly as it is written in the book and reinforces my understanding. Excellent work. Please keep it up. I have also followed your Seguiryas tutorial and absolutely love that piece. Thanks again.
If my videos can contribute in some small way to your progress I feel good about that. But at the end of the day it's you who is putting in the work to make it happen.
Thanks. Those moments of confusion are not planned. The truth is I do get confused sometimes. I leave these moments in the video because I'm too lazy to edit them out.
Hello Sal, does Martin have a cejilla on the 3rd fret for these (like the soleares and this allegrias) pieces in his method book?? BTW, BIG THANKS for reanimating these works!!!
All of the solos in the book use the capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret. I just follow the way he plays the solo so I can play along with the CD audio track. It a pleasure top cover these pieces. Makes me practice harder whwen there is a reason to play.
I don't know. I'm not a good one to ask about current guitar brands and pricing. I started with a Yamaha classical guitar and later owned a second hand flamenco S. Yari 1971. Other guitars I used for flamenco were cheap classical guitars of various brands from the local second hand guitar shop because I couldn't afford even a cheap flamenco. My test was to sit and try every guitar that felt good and sounded good and had a low action with not too much buzz. My thinking is pretty basic. I never became knowledgeable about guitars beyond basics.
That's a good question and a topic that has occupied me for years. The first question is how much money do you want to spend? The semi professional starts at 3000 euros for a guitar. Manufacturer would be Felipe Conde starts the F14 at 2800 euros I also like Hnos. Sanchis López 1F Extra. There are a lot of other manufacturers and a lot of money to spend. It is always a matter of taste which guitar you tend to go for.
Yes. I want to do a tutorial video of the Tarantos I uploaded in 2006. When? I need to write it down first. Maybe in a couple of weeks if I don't get too distracted with other projects. I also want to do another tutorial video of the Tarantos in Juan Martin''s book.

Thank you Sal. Another brilliant video. I'm starting to feel like I am getting somewhere thanks to you.

I love this channel. Exactly the type of content I am looking for.
I'm glad to hear that.
I love stars on your head
😀
Must we use the capo. I am an absolute beginner and enjoy your lessons.
Est ce que le livre de Juan Martin flamenco el arte est ecrit en tablature?
Oui, je confirme, en notes et en tablature. j'ai la dernière version de la méthode (2017).
@ Patrick Delouvée a raison. Il y a une notation standard et une tablature bien écrites dans le livre
That's right

What do you consider to be the cheapest flamenco guitar that is at a professional level? Thank you.
