The hardest part for me was unhooking the dongle. One of the Kawi black key gives me the ability to have the display on until I remove the key, a faulty that I preferred.
On the pre-2022 Ultras, yes you must open the storage door and “bump” the key when the screen times out. On the new skis the Immobilizer slot is in the middle of the handlebars.
JD, I have 2016 15F and a 2023 Ultra LSX. Both skis require me to push the key when the screen times out. You have moved your key to the RH storage compartment. What do you do when the screen times out? Open the storage compartment and push the key?
Yes! You can use the SLO key to reprogram the system for a new fast key. Reach out to Kawi Performance and they should be able to get you what you need
Yeah very easy to add a spare key! And as you know…I definitely need to have one on my person at all times..not always gonna have Ramiro and his giant pliers
If you conducted the test procedure for the immobilizer assembly and confirmed that it’s bad, then you can swap out the unit for another one and it will work with your same keys. The keys are programmed to the ECU.
So since you’ve bought one of these. I’d imagine now you could essentially offer to do keys for other people for free or a small fee Kinda like a side gig

Great way to get a spare key! Thanks for posting this and it's not very expensive either!!
Yeah very simple to do and good insurance against a lost key!
Good stuff man
Now I have a spare so I don’t relive that one time…thanks again for your giant pliers for saving my ass lmao 🤣🤣
@@JDsWaterWorld as long as you don't leave the spare keys at home 😅🤡

You open the storage door every time the ECM times out to push the key to wake up the ECM?

Great content
KP is amazing!
They definitely have tons of solutions and products nobody else has!
What do you do if you only have the slo key and lost the other key? Can you still use the dongle to program a new key or is there an extra step ?

I have a 2014 lx160, my immobilizer is not working, the jet wont turn on. If i buy a used immobiliser, will my keys work??

@@JDsWaterWorld thank you very much, that's what I was wondering, if the assembly or the ECU was the one to read the codes.
I lost my keys what's the next step I have to do? My dealer told me that I would have to spend CA 2200.00$ to replace keys, ecu and key plug.
Give Steve at Kawi Performance a call- tell him JD sent you and hopefully he can help. If anyone can sort it out it’s him!

I don't get why they call it an immobilizer key when it starts the ski lol
You cant start the ski without the key. It’s “immobilized” without the key.
@@JDsWaterWorld lol so is my car but we just call it the car key lol

Hahah well this product was actually provided to me by Kawi Performance, who does offer key service already!
@@JDsWaterWorld lmfao o the emails would be hilarious to read if you did do that and they caught wind of it.
