    Nice job, nailed it! This watch is one of my two daily drivers (as well as the Apple Watch series 3). For the price, it does a fantastic job.

    Need some help. I have a small wrist, have a 44mm casing watch and it looks fine. Will this watch be of smiliar size as that?

    I am between this watch and samsung galaxy watch 46mm ... I v heard that the heart sensors dont work well on samsung watches and once I tried in a shop samsung was giving me 100 bits when other watches where giving me 75-80 bits . If money is not an issue which one would you choose and why?

  • @lm7692
    @lm7692 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. I can only imagine how busy you are. I am just going to take a pass on it. Every single one of these watches have some issue - battery, not bright enough, inaccurate, etc. Some are perfect in certain areas, and weak in others. I have tried Samsung, Fenix, Fitbit, etc. I have genuinely concluded that it is all one gigantic scam because any company that attempts at creating the so-called perfect tracker/smartwatch will end up not making money in the long term. They keep spitting out bits and pieces of updates, all the while teasing the consumer with the next and best 6 months later, a year later, and so on. I have gone back to traditional exercising without the use of a tracker.

    What’s the difference between this and the amazfit stratos 2?

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure I don't have the Statos any more or have ever had the Startaos version 2. I have abandoned their products after my original Statos died on before the year warranty was up and Amazfit did nothing to rectify the problem, very bad customer support.

    Did anyone else try and wipe away the bug from the bottom right of the screen at 2:43 ?
    Great vid, I've ordered the watch, just a little concerned that it's going to be too big, I won't really know until I've tried it out. Already got a new leather strap for it, as I want it to look a little less sporty.

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha. It's not very heavy so that helps make it not feel so big.

    Can I ask, how are the vibrations during notifications? Is it strong? Indoor visibility - is it easily legible when just walking around indoors? How is the heart rate monitoring during weightlifting?

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vibration is pretty strong. HRM is like most other wrist optical ones for me while weight training and does not keep up. I pari mine to a chest strap in the gym.

    can I ask a question? I purchased Amazfit Stratos after this review. But couldn't get the data on Strava. I had chosen the option in the Amazfit app also. But in vain. Can someone help me?

  • @MrJhuang999
    @MrJhuang999 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just got this watch. Loving it so far. Just wished it tracked gym workouts and pushups. How do you use it for that? Hope that Amazfit comes out with updated software for it. Even if weights and reps have to be manually entered. The Samsung galaxy watch looks tempting for that reason, but it’s also double the cost

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just put on a heart rate monitor and then select "Indoor Bike ridding" (No GPS) and use that for weight training. I get my calorie burn and that's all I'm really after. There are other programs for tracking sets, reps and weight used.

    • @MrJhuang999

      getfitover40 thanks for the tip. You recommend chest over arm band still? And Polar H10?

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chest will always be more precise,. I can not recommend the Polar stuff. I had two Polar H7's and when they worked they worked great but right about at a year after buying both of them they died mysteriously just after the warranty period? Changed batteries and even tired a new strap but the units would not connect any more? After the second time I lost faith in Polar and so now I am using a Wahoo TICKR Heart Rate Monitor. So far so good...

    • @V4D2
      @V4D2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      getfitover40 hi,
      nice review man.
      i have been using a polar H7 for years, now..and yes..the batteries burn, and i am on my 2nd strap.
      still...the sensor unit is pretty much working as it should.

    • @V4D2
      @V4D2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      getfitover40 anyway....
      i have been looking for a cheaper watch..cheaper that the Polars and Garmins, at least.. that can do a lot of analytics..and give me a lot of data.
      since i have got a dedicated sleep tracker..the fact that this watch doesn’t do that great in sleep monitoring..isn’t a big deal.
      what i am after is the ability to plan and build your workouts.
      i have seen a guy online do that, in the app..but the timer / time cycles..are only adjustable in minutes...not in seconds..
      Have you got any input on that issue ?
      this is very useful for HIIT workouts..for eg.
      Plus,. is there an indoor rowing mode?
      thanks ;)

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It about as good as most wrist based heart rate monitors.I still prefer to use a chest strap for more accurate readings.

    For the interface, do you have any laging experience on the stratos? Since its not a wear OS from android.
    And what do you think about the ticwatch s? Which one is better.
    Kinda confuse which one should i buy, stratos or ticwatch s. Each one has its pros and cons, like ticwatch use wear OS by google, but you cant change the straps since the gps antena built inside the straps.
    And for the stratos great design, you can change the straps, but using a proprietary OS and not an OLED screen

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I understand the OS is based off of Android, it doesn't lag too bad, most of the time it is fairly responsive. I have never used a ticwatch so I can not compare?

    • @MrOooqqq
      @MrOooqqq 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      getfitover40 thank you!!! I think im gonna choose the ticwatch just for the OS itself.
      Love your in depth review man!

    Greetings from the philippines, im also using stratos for my daily workouts and training so far so good..there are just a few things for me that needs to be fixed in future upgrades, one is the lack of auto pause during run and cycling activities, i know its just a very minor issue..but its better to have it like the garmins. also i have a hard time figuring out how to use its interval training function..hardware wise i would prefer having a chime or sound during notifications and alarms the stratos only vibrates...aside from those minor things this amazfit watch, amazes me😁

      @Sebastian-yb3og 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the ROM 2.3.4.0 it has got the auto pause feature. But it only stops the measurement automatically. To start it again, you have to start it manually. It isn't the best solution.

    Hello! Thank you for the review. I have one question about compatibility. I'm a Samsung user as well and like Samsung Health app and participate in the monthly challenges. Is it possible to somehow integrate the measurements (especially steps) into S Health app?

    nice video. which hr strap do you use???

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the Scosche Arm band which is optical for lower level activities like walking, it works OK for weight lifting but can miss some stuff so I use the Wahoo Tickr CHest Strap HRM for that.

    Hey Michael, hello from Eenesto in Austin. Very informative video on a nice peice of technology. Thanks for sharing info. How's your contest prep coming along? Are you thinking you'll be over 210 lbs on day of? Om sure whatever your weight is you'll do great. I'm exactly 1 week from my next comp. It's The NFF Austin Classic/Fit games. I think that's what they're calling it. I'm nowhere close to you in terms of size, symmetry, & vascularity. Then again I turn 60 next month. Anyway best of luck to you Michael. As always, stay excellent my friend...... Ernesto

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ernesto, contest prep is going well, just a bit of a shoulder injury that sor now is not holding me back form training hard... I hope to be right around 210 weigh in day but I also hope to be the most shredded ever so if I am a bit lighter that will be OK too, I for sure will be at least 205 which is 10 pounds up from last show. Best of luck in your show a week from now, let me know how you do!

      For now I'm testing it out on it's own and so far so good. What I most want in an activity tracking smartwatch is activity tracking accuracy, stability with no crashing or loss of workout data, decent usable software and some basic smart watch features. The Stratos does all that really well.

  • @dpejakovic
    @dpejakovic 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would not agree with you with your enthusiasm over Stratos. It' not even closely comparable with Garmin watches in any term. Accuracy? FitBit Charge 2 has more accurate HRM than this one. It doesen't matter how much it costs if it can't read your HB correct, meassure you cal or steps correct. FitBit and Garmin software also isn't comparable with this one(iOS user). Bare in mind that lot of folks would watch this video and pay for something that thay will use only as decoration. I have tested similar models(price range, etc) of Polar, Garmin, Fitbit and Stratos and compared it with ECG grade HRM on 3 different exercises and was I suprised with results? No i haven't. I'm not a fan of half finished products. And that's what it is. Phrase "for the price" doesen't justify lack of functionality. If you pay for something, you expect it works. Only thing I was thrilled with on Stratos is it's screen. So, for me it's just another thing you could buy on e-bay. And overpay it. Quality means price. It was always like this, it would always be. Just for comparison....cheapest Vivosmart costs arround 20 dollars more than Stratos in some stores in EU.

    • @getfitover40
      @getfitover40  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually found my Stratos to be one of the best all around fitness watches I had ever used. I agree the built in HRM could have been better but none of them really work that well for me even on the high end watches, I liked that I could hook up an external HRM to it for way more accurate heart rate measurements. I now use a "Name Brand" Samsung Galaxy Watch and it's built in Heart Rate Monitor is the worst I have ever used so no guarantee that a more expensive name brand watch will track your heart rate any better. Unfortunately at around 9 months of use my Stratoes kicked the bucket, I was able to get a partial refund from the place I bought it but as I was unhappy with how Amazfit treated me as a customer when I had this issue I decide not to keep supporting them. Not because my Stratoes did not do what I wanted it to do but because of their customer support.

      The Apple Watch built in activity software was not suitable for me so I needs so I installed the Under Armour Record App onto it. In theory Record looks good but was really buggy and crashed a lot resulting in me lto lose entire workout sessions. The Amazfit Stratos has been 100% reliable in terms of keeping my workout data and not losing anything due to bugs or crashes. I think the APple Watch is a great device but there are other options out there for sure...
