how accurate are the measurments? especially the hrm and steps ... i also play ping pong, do you think there is a way to track this activity as well? also at home at night, can you see the time with normal lighting without using the watche's light?
Hello! Can you check that Stratos can connect to a cycling cadence sensor? Can it utilize the data from the sensor? If yes, are there any constrains? Thank you!
If you have a moment, now more than a month later, still love the watch? Battery life? Can you tell me if vibration is strong? And have you ever done any strength training and is the hr accurate when doing so? Easy to read indoors? Thank you.
Im thinking of buying Stratos. But my question is, as a normal watch user not a fitness guy at all i just want a watch that shows me notifications , waterproof and i reallt like the looks of stratos, is it worth it for that kind of use?
Absolutely. It’s not a pricey watch, so I’d definitely say it’s a great watch for just an average user. Another to consider is the Amazfit GTS as well. It has better battery life than the Stratos.
hey there :) i like both the pace and the stratos but could you please tell me a bit about what are the main differences between the two devices in the fields of running-training plans? how many training profiles are there or can i customize them? as a girl with smaller wrist the stratos can be a bit big? thanks for helping me :)
My personal opinion is that it is definitely better. It just offers a lot more than the Garmin 235. A more comparable Garmin watch is the Vivoactive 3 Music, but it's about $70 more than the Amazfit Stratos.
Personally I like the Amazfot Stratos more, but if you want better smart notifications, then the Ticwatch 2 is the way to go. For me personally the fitness tracking is a bigger priority, which is why I prefer the Amazfit.
Great consumer analogy. So I love the Amazfit for obviously the looks but the shitty rubber band got to go. But, I love the advanced features of the Ticwatch pro which as an added bonus of a better battery efficiency and NFC. So what do you do? You buy the Lemfo LEM4 Pro and wait for the other two to get better. IDK....
Nothing but new underdog hype...2 days battery life?! That's horrendous...I got rid of the Samsung Gear Sport I got within a week after having to choose whether to charge it for 1.5hr every morning or 2.5hrs every other day... the HR and altitude tracking on this is crap and it's pretty big, so might as well get a refurbished Fenix 3 HR (or Vivoactive HR even cheaper if not a triathlete) and pair it with an HR strap...and get about 4 times the battery life...
The 2 day battery life on the Amazfit Stratos is only if you are using the GPS and Bluetooth music regularly. If you don't use Bluetooth it extends the battery a lot. I've found that just using the GPS on the Amazfit while running doesn't use a whole lot of battery, but the Bluetooth and GPS combination will drop about 15% of the battery in a typical 6 mile run (40-45 minutes). As for the HR, it has been really accurate for me, and very consistent. The altitude issue I have no idea about though. It is regularly an issue for me. Today I am picking up the Garmin Vivoactive 3 (Music). It just came out a couple of days ago and it's $300, but I want to compare it to see if it's any better and worth the extra $140 price tag. As for Samsung... I'm pretty much done with them when it comes to fitness tracking (running). I just haven't had any luck with accuracy on their watches.
Donavon Hornbeck thanks for constructive response. I was a bit harsh, after re-looking at refurbished fenix 3 HR prices they are still not really in the same league, refurbished Vivoactive HR doesn't look as nice and was never very comfortable for me so for runners I guess this is great and can pair with a chest strap. I do gym based workouts and I saw reviews saying the hr sensor on this (sucks for those but most sensors struggle with those...). Seems Fitbit Versa (better than the ionic with the same sensor somehow -but maybe it's because versa came with newer firmware) leading in that department so I got one. Connected GPS has been an issue for me the couple of times I tried but i dont care about it too much
I wanted to like the Stratos. I got it today. Spent just over 2 hours to figure out how to get music on it even watching videos and reading the instructions on Amazfit website. I had to remove the Android File Transfer app and re-install it finally to get the MP3s to transfer to the watch. But the thing I really don't care for is the really poor or nearly non-existent step counting. After a 2,000 step brisk walk, only 156 steps counted in the end. It has been completely useless and that is a deal breaker for me. You must have gotten lucky with your watch.
I've actually had 3 Amazfit Stratos watches, and I've never had that issue with any of them. The only metric that is consistently inaccurate for me is the elevation in a workout. It's weird because I had the Chinese version of the watch and it never had the elevation issue, but with the International version it is consistently not accurate with the elevation.
I wonder if it is the accelerometer in mine then. I am moving my arms as normal, but wonder if I need to flail like the inflatable tube man/wacky waving inflatable man.
No, GPS is just for positioning, the watch doesn't take a SIM. The GPS is just used to track exact distances you travel during a workout like a run, bike, walk, swim, etc... I use use it to track my distance and Pace while I'm out running.
Lol... If you want a full blown smartwatch then go with the Ticwatch, but if you want a great GPS running watch/activity tracker with good battery life, then go with the Stratos. The biggest downfall of the Ticwatch is the battery life. It has to be charged as often as a cell phone, but it is accurate for fitness tracking.
Donavon Hornbeck Lol 2 days battery life, inaccurate HR (for anything but steady state cardio) and altitude tracking...no weightlifting mode...this watch is nothing but hype! Might as well get a refurbished Fenix 3 HR (or even cheaper Vivoactive HR with slightly less features) and pair with a chest or arm HR strap - it's a bit more accurate without HR strap, has a weights mode AND around 7 days battery life!
Donavon Hornbeck yes sir, keeping this aside i wanted to say that i am guy from india and i am newly subscriber to your channel but i really need to say that i loved your channel very much, keep going sir hope you get millions of subscriber coz you deserve it😊
Donavon Hornbeck welcome... Sir i participated in the giveaway but i recently i replied to your comment and it counted as two comments from me would this affect the giveaway?

Getting this watch tomorrow, can't wait. Got it on Amazon with a $70 gift card, only $99.99! Good review, thanks!

Thanks for letting us know it able to connect Strava!
I got one and really like it, but the app won't show maps on my iPhone. Though it did work on an Android

Please show heart rating monitroing with mobile in repory show
I got the Stratos 2 Month ago and i "LOVE IT" finally after 6 smart watches a GREAT one.
Can you turn the screen of the Stratos off!?

how the accuracy of the heart rate?

Great review kudos to you, would you be so kind to advice, as a runner which one you prefer the stratos or the verge? Thanks in advance.

How does it compare in size to the fenix?
What is the deference between stratos 2 and stratos plus
The saphir screen protection
The coupon code wont work for me :(
Great review just purchased after watching this thanks for that . Has it an weight training section ??
Have you experience unregistered step in everyday use?
Hi, does the PPG(Heart Rate Sensor) blinking seem normal?
I got mine today and saw this.
Hey Donavon, Great review on the amazfit stratos. Would you pick this watch over the new Samsung Galaxy watch? Thanks
Thank you for the DISCOUNT !!! It really worked .Thanks !!!
Can you connect this to external HR monitors, such as the Scosche Rhythm24 or Polar H10?
Yes, you definitely can.
is it better than garmin 235?

It can connect to strava..i love it😍
Good review! I really like how this watch looks.
Great review mate! fingers crossed!

Nice. I think it actually works through the end of this year! I think you will really like the watch. I know I do.

Would love to upgrade from my Fitbit Blaze. Thanks for the review!
You bet. The Blaze is a good watch, but I think that this would be a nice upgrade for sure.
My favorite Smartwatch, too !
I like this watch because of premium looking & cool features
It really is a fantastic watch. Definitely my favorite right now.
Mine also
I really like Amazfit product, good review Donavon Hornbeck
Amazfit makes the best watches IMO!
:)
Very good information!
Yeah the watch is great but it seems that fit bit versa is better and as compared with price amazfit pace would be better than amazfit startos
Yeah, I also have the Amazfit Pace, which right now is pretty easy to find for less than $100, which is still a great smartwatch.
