Blanks will not cause significant bore/throat/muzzle erosion. Certainly not a rate that you claim to be observing here. Ive actually never, ever seen a BFA rifle experience bore erosion significant enough to prevent servicing. At some point these rifles were fired with live ammunition or were built using barrels otherwise removed from fieldable service. Hope this helps.
Then you have no idea how much these guns were used (or more like abused) with limited cleaning and very high volume of blank fire. Theres enough evidence to show that a lot of these guns are not close to being in servicable condition
@@aquila3958 that isn't really saying anything in terms of data though. What I'm referring to, is my experience with militarily used rifles for blank fore use. Guns with alot of time and use on them that don't show barrel wear like this. And I am certain these rifles didn't see nearly as much use as examples I've seen in South America or even our own use here in the American side. The only time I've seen this, is when guns went from live fire use, saw the end of service life on barrels, then were converted to BFA exclusively.
they may be built on yugo M64 barrels, one of the differences from the M64 and M70 is the m64 has a slightly longer Front sight block, so if you build an m70 on an m64 barrel the front sight block will be set back a little too far like that I'm sure they were built w/ junk barrels since they knew the government was going to use just for weapons familiarization or firing blanks
Your weapons are of recent production, you should try older versions if possible from the 80s and similar, I worked as a plant manager in the Zastava factory in the former Yugoslavia where weapons were produced, of course the model you are testing and I guarantee that they are older models far better than newer models and can even compete with many new weapons
From what research I did, the early ones were almost completely milled. Later in the years they switched to the stamped receivers and started cheaping out on some of the parts. The later models are no joke either tho. They have 1.6mm stamped bulged rpk receivers
@@Freedm762 It serves two purposes; it is a ladder sight for grenades and also a gas cut-off valve because the grenades are rifle grenades. They fit over the barrel and are fired by special blank cartridges.

The NMRG partner force I worked with had rifles that were basically identical to these. I remember the had a US builder mark on them, and I do not recall if they were select fire. They definitely saw live ammunition though.
Remember. Gas shutoffs are mostly for firing rifle grenades .. they're both a bit of a hot mess .. not bad for the low price.. good truck gun . . I’ve got a century yugo m70ab2 I bought back in 2011. It’s in mint condition. Trunnion on it is stamped 1994 an still has its original serial. It has the ak47 milled carrier without the lazer cut, milled gas block with the original ak vents etc it’s a beast. I paid a fortune for it “then” I can only imagine what it’s worth now right person also mine has the 4 revit stock. Who ever at century put it together, built it to withstand a bomb. Both the Yugos in this video have the akm style gas tubes on them, which is odd with the old ak carriers. You think they would ran the lazer cuts. Only thing I’ve done to mine is put a set of battle field pickups on it. That originally had someone’s initials on it. But I refinished them to match the rest of the gun. Go to the Ak forum an they will tell you all about them an there differences. I’d like to strip mine back down, an configure it back into a milled receiver as it was mint to be. But I ain’t doing all that I’ll just keep rocking my 94 trunion a stamped receiver. Or maybe one day do it, I’d like to have one Period correct. I get back to rolling in the cash, need to send it to the ak guy Brandon. Have him put it on its milled receiver. That way I can throw it off the Empire State Building 😂 I’m pretty sure mines suppose to be the M70A, century just slapped the parts on a stamped receiver and decided to call it an AB2

These look only a bit worse than my first AK which was a Century AMD-65 which looked like it was put together by someone under the influence of several drugs lmao
Surprisingly enough the two I got from Buds had no chamber wear, just dirty spouts. Slightly weak springs and one had a safety that needed some bending. I feel really sorry for the people who wanted one of these and got unlucky
Man, I brought 8 AK's this year (no idea why). My least favorite is ZASTAVA M70B1 original yugo surplus (suprisignly). Bolt get's stuck on trigger everytime I let it go slowly, furniture cracked during cleaning, rod falls out after 30 rounds, heavy af, matte barrel (no chrome), idk feels like crap (but shoot's and looks good), second is original AKM - it's great, don't get me wrong. BUT it's a historical piece, unshoot, expensive, it should be in museum so I care and worry about it and that means it's still in the gun safe. Third is SAIGA 103, same thing (but i also had 3 malfunction on first 100 rounds). I kinda fall in love with chinase norinco, new production. It server its purpose: not expensive, feels cheap, crap materials, i don't care about it, shoots well, 5000 rounds, 0 malfunctions. So my experience is quite the opposite as everyone else's but I don't care what everyone says, chinase **** ak's rocks. 😂🤘
Trigger hangup is normal. All aks do that. The trick is 1 stronger return spring 2. Dremmel or file off the angles of the hammer 3. Use a hiperfire trigger or other triggers that already come with rounded edges on the 2 angle points
@@jason200912 Not true. I have lot of AK's, lot of them never been in someones hands and only zastava m70b1 do that. Of course it's fixable, everything is fixable. Built a Polish Circle 11 underfolder from a parts kit. I did have to fine tune the extractor with a file but you cannot make it hang up if you try. Stock parts. Childers receiver. Your extractor probably just needs some tuning. Some builders probably just slap them together.

I put a Hogue setup on it. Looks new and has a chrome lined barrel. I put new tritium vials in for the night sights too. It's awesome.
That automat is probably one of the coolest, if not the coolest looking assault rifle out there.
Imagine if you had instantaneous (against infantry) or cumulative (armour piercing rounds) tromblons to fire with that gas brake lifted up as this is what this machine is designed to do!
That would be quite a show!
I still feel better about those over any I.O manufactured AK 😅
“I’d rather sleep with a wolverine under my bed than a mountain lion”
I'd rather play Russian roulette than ever own a Century or I.O build again, these rifles look slightly worse than my Century AMD-65 that I bought brand new which is saying something lol
@@turnermd1302the century amd shouldn’t be allowed to even be called an amd65 that long ass barrel is an abortion to what the real tgi guns were and it’s probably worth not even half of what a real one is worth
Nah, I had one of the IO East Germans back in the day. That bitch was solid. I sold it but kept the manual cause I'm petty!
ID rather have one of these that the Waffen Werks 74's i got, need to replace the entire reciever because some idiot decided nails and welds hold a trunion in better than rivets...
Interesting... I shoot tons of ammo from M70AB2 without a single jamming, but using original Zastava made mags with Serbian made PPU ammo. Use propper gadgets to get serious results. Nice guns that will serve you in the good, bad and evil, till death took you apart, so help you God.
I like the reinforced rpk style receiver block that all yugo ak's have , they made sure hot ammo or prolonged wear and tear won't have a dangerous failure ever

if you rebarreled these aks would they then be ok ??
I heard century used the original barrels and warranty return barrels for these kits. Truly as bottom barrel as you can get.
they may be built on yugo M64 barrels, one of the differences from the M64 and M70 is the m64 has a slightly longer Front sight block, so if you build an m70 on an m64 barrel the front sight block will be set back a little too far like that
I'm sure they were built w/ junk barrels since they knew the government was going to use just for weapons familiarization or firing blanks
ГРЕШИШ ДРУЖЕ, ТО НИЈЕ БОФЛ РОБА!!! ПОЗДРАВ!!!
at least those are most beautifull AK out there :D
That's great! I'm happy for you guys! Enjoy!
To the guy on the right... I see you... you are not alone✊
Great video, thank you for showing is the cool stuff!
Awesome video man! Made me wait long enough. Epic.

And that thing, i think that's a flip up sight for grenade launchers (? Correct me if i'm wrong) makes it looks great
@@Freedm762 It serves two purposes; it is a ladder sight for grenades and also a gas cut-off valve because the grenades are rifle grenades. They fit over the barrel and are fired by special blank cartridges.

Yeah buddy lets go very curious to see how these do wish id have grabbed one they seem cool
Remember. Gas shutoffs are mostly for firing rifle grenades .. they're both a bit of a hot mess .. not bad for the low price.. good truck gun . . And yes blanks do erode barrels with repeated blank firing usually at the chamber throat i wouldn't expect great long distance accuracy from these units but adequate for defensive use. Try some us made contractor polymer magazines
If it only fires blanks and it is an AK, cleaning it would seem unnecessary.

The trick is
1 stronger return spring
2. Dremmel or file off the angles of the hammer
3. Use a hiperfire trigger or other triggers that already come with rounded edges on the 2 angle points
@@jason200912 Not true. I have lot of AK's, lot of them never been in someones hands and only zastava m70b1 do that. Of course it's fixable, everything is fixable.
