I mean, look at those locking lugs, they're ground off at an angle! Normally firing out of battery is bad, but on this weapon, every shot is slightly out of battery. @@TheLARPist It's tragic how often AKs and children go hand-in-hand
Yes?
I think what Ian meant on those rivets with "at least there's one rivet holding the trunnion on" was that there was at least a *proper* rivet and not some half-assed... whatever was going on with the others, not implying that it was a good rivet but just implying it was an actual rivet.
Edit: I Iiked the expIanation anyways though, Brandon!

9:10 this reminds of when Ian was talking about late war K98s and their lock up system still intact despite the corners cut on those things the rifle was legitimately safe to fire. It would be so counter productive to remove the leurlocks or not even bother with them. Otherwise you'd have a Phineas Gage situation where the bolt finds a new home in your eye socket. Thank God that gun wasn't fired a hell of a lot.

But this kit costs $2k? Surely there's cheaper kits available
Corey S ruining a perfectly good high quality kit is exactly the point that made Brandon feel so bad for the gun he wanted to fix it..
If you have access to this kit, a metal lathe and the rest of the equipment used to botch this AK you've spent more then what a brand new AK would be.
Hell renting a lathe is, not possible in my area (one of the 3 places in Canada that churns out Machinists with federal licenses.) and the actual machines are crazy expensive.
