I’m a bass player of 20 years, and I can honestly say that YYZ is in my top 5 hardest songs I’ve ever played.
You nailed it!
Rush was a amazing canadian band! 3 virtuose musicians. Geedy Lee is a beast, play bass, keyboard, bass pedal and singning at the same time, just crazy… Anyway you mastered this great piece! Bravo!
Bravo! Very well done!!!
Playing this bassline and smiling is impossible. But you did it anyways. WOW
That depends on what you smoke first! And if you take LSD, it slows the song so it is easier to keep pace. That is not meant to take anything away from the amazing Gary (Geddy Lee) Weinrib!
@@gordondafoe3516 Don't think she did smoke anything but I could be wrong
Im soooo jealous !!!!!! fantastic playing
"The greater the technique, the less it is apparent." Robert Fripp
You cruise through this with such great time, tone and groove. Thanks for showing us how it's done.
Just bloody fantastic, overtones and bass chords and great technique!
Please do more Rush 👍
Apoiado!
la villa strangiato
just saw your video of "Roundabout" and I thought. "pretty dang good, but can she play Geddy Lee or some Justin Chancellor?" didn't have to search your page very long. Very well done indeed. And you picked a great song to play too.
Been a RUSH superfan since 1980. I don’t take others playing them lightly….since they are such masterful musicians. Your playing was very good. Enjoyed it. If you can play like Geddy…then there is no limit to your playing.
So, you'll let us be the judge? Great job. You win first prize. You nailed it. Thank you so much for sharing!
Congratulations young lady. Well played.
It's so nice and cool and weird to hear just the bass part, because I always focused on Alex's guitar work! Great Job!
Totally chill while completely slaying. I can’t get enough of this young lady
It's a good thing Geddy never had to sing over that bass line, well done Alice.
Maybe I understand why 😅
Covered as well or better than most. Actually impressive!
The Holy Grail of bass parts. And you make it look easy. I need to get working on it myself. Fantastic job.
Thank You for doing such a Fantastic job on this. Geddy will even enjoy this greatly. Great respect to your hard work.
It is such a delight to not only hear, but see you nail this flawlessly - and making it look so easy in the process! Well done!
This was even more impressive than when Alice played Roundabout! Bravo, Alice, bravo!!!
Keep searching my brain in the room ... You are just AMAZING !
God damn, that is CLEAN! Extremely impressive!
The Beauty of Sensational playing! You Got IT!🎶
You have to do more Rush songs. They're tricky to learn but fun to play. It'll definitely improve your already considerable talent. Really enjoyed that. 👍
I swear...Alice is a frickin robot. Epic!!
Very Good ! I think Geddy would approve!
2:08 - NAILED IT !! Much respect from Texas, young Lady !!
That harmonic was awesome
That was the key moment! Nicely executed! Would like to see more!
Brilliant playing - so clean!
LOL....awesome. I literally lol'ed when u nailed the part with the little , rapid flurry of harmonics, ha. Great.
You're killing me. That's awesome.
Dayyam - you make it look EASY!!!!!!
Crushed it. Well done!
Flawless. I've been playing bass for thirty years, and I still can't play this track as cleanly as you can. I'm jealous.
And it's effortless.
Geddy would be proud. Well done!
Holy crap - I am blown away! great job!
This is what the internet was made for 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Keep on rockin’
Holy Begeezers...you knocked that one out of the park! Nothing less than awesome!
Alice is as much a Bass Monster as Geddy Lee! My ears love it!
Alice, your playing is totally captivating. Your fingers move so fluidly over the strings. I just started on bass after many years playing guitar. You are an inspiration! ❤
Fantastic! 😎👍
A true challenging piece for sure. I'm not a big fan when technic overwrites music, which is IMO the case of YYZ, but I must admire your technical skill for playing this so perfectly. Congrats Alice.
Great job!!!! I love rush.😊
Impressive. Well done.
Bravo INDEED! Your fingering is smooth & you've definitely been practicing! You even nailed the harmonics!
Awesome playing! Such a killer song on bass.
this is SICK. you are an excellent bass player. and that bass is incredible! never seen one like that
Very impressive! Nice job with the finger picking of those crazy fast riffs.
Wow!!!😮. Nothing wrong with classical piano, but this is definitely more Rock n Roll.
Love this. Takes me back almost 20 doggone years now when two buddies of mine and i decided we were going to nail this song. Back when the available internet tabs were probably 90% good at best, and you had to listen to the CD because the MP3 you downloaded from limewire was actually of some dude playing it himself. Where was I going? Oh yeah, the important thing to remember is that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style of the time...
Good times 😍
Brilliant!!
I LOVE hearing these songs with the bass, and your playing, highlighted. It gives me an entirely new appreciation of it. Well done.😃👍
It is SO cool to hear bass over the bridge, much respect!
Nice job, Alice! So sad the band as we knew it may never play again. Keep the dream alive, girl!! (Can anyone really replace Neil? I doubt it)
Great job. Love the Decision model bass and the tone you’re generating
Bass is the motor, and you let us be in front road well done thanks
Attractive warm room background, woods, greys. Nothing clashes. Informal, but still very nice, clean and real.
Nice touch, relaxed look into the camera with a faint smile. Made me smile, too.
YYZ is one of two or three of my favorite Rush tunes, so no complaints there, and obviously perfectly executed.
Keep in mind that your audience would love to hear you speak! Introducing and/or closing in simple fashion, I predict, would explode your viewership. Matters not, whether it's in English, en Français, o qualcosa d'altro. Also say what you're working on, or what venue you are playing, something for subscribers to look forward to. Just suggestions. 🙂
Clean, lean and mean - great job, Alice! Thank you for sharing!
Another well played cover!!!
Another one of my favorite Bass songs.
Excellent!!! Keep up the great work!! Blessing to you!!! : )
Holy Toronto, that was good! 👍
IATA FTW!
wow!! amazing lines
You have my attention Alice. Very nice.
Yes!!! Just yes! Thank you 🥰
I know this song quite intimately and I think you did great! We all have our own version of it. Even Geddy plays it differently at different times. It’s challenging for sure. You were smooth. Love the improv during the lead section. Anyways… awesome. Bass on! 😊
Brava!
You are amazing! This was prefect!
That's a tricky one. Good job!
See kids real music from real instruments. YYZed is hard, and you nailed it, Bravo
Excellent cover! I like that improvisation instead of the single note drone filler after the solo.
So AWESOME!
Nice work! Playin bass like Geddy, and with a similar haircut. Keep rockin! ☺️🤘🎶
Wow! Amazing!
Fantastic job.
Wow, you played it like Geddy Lee. Awesome! Even just thinking about playing bass on a Rush song makes my fingers cramp.
Fantastic!! And you make it look so easy to me, knowing it’s definitely not!
Well done. Sounds great!
Such a beautiful line. Thank you for such a great performance
Right on, great job!
already join to this awesome channel!! keep on rocking!!! nice playing !!
WOW, amazing and effortless! Very talented!
Mis respetos desde Cádiz, al sur de España. Magnífico!!
SO AWESOME!!! EXCELLENT WORK!!!
Wow, it looks like a walk in the park for you! I am impressed, vous êtes incroyable bravo!
you make it look so easy, your timing is spot on! Bon travail
NAILED IT. Sheesh, you’re amazing 🤩
Kudos! Definitely a difficult one to master, and you did it flawlessly.
You payed all my favourite parts really well. The intro and the sections before the main theme, the main theme from 45 sec right through to the bridge with chords. Awesome and nicely done. The bass run while everything else is tacet, ending with the harmonics. Very cool and sleek! Second time listen was more enjoyed and I loved the eye contact, expression and interaction. You politely and playfully acknowledged what you thought were mistakes. I think the guys from RUSH played YYZ differently every time. The Album recording is simply a snippet in the time of countless ways of playing.
You are amazing! Congrats!!!
Really enjoyed this! You made it seem effortless. Liked what you did in the bridge, that was unique.
Great job! Real awesome!
what a beautiful sound. thank you
Wow awesome job!
Amazing cover Alice..spot on sounds great and what a difficult tune to master...really well played
Very nicely done ! Bravo ;-)
Geddy wrote excellent basslines back then. And the radest part that he also sings while he is playing basslines of this difficulty
Great song, played brilliantly here. Anyone who plays bass knows how difficult this song is to play.
32nd notes bravo ❤
Awesome 👍
Just WOW ❤
As a long time RUSH fan, I have to say, well done!
So good. Thanks for sharing 🍸.
AWESOME!!!!
