Born and bred in Blidworth. Family of miners and lived there until I was 10. My mother , Aunt and big sister still live there with their families. Wish you'd shown Rickets Lane and the Dolmen there too. My Dad's ashes were scattered there.
Thats cool. Yeah I never walked over to rickets Lane as I had kids with me. Might do a drive down at some point! Like you I dont live in the village anymore but visit when I can!
Thanks for showing us around the town and the country walk. We have libraries here where we check out books. Some you have to pay a small fee to be a member. Most are free (paid for by taxes). Love seeing the memorials, “Less we forget”. Take care.
Ah good 👍 was wondering. I assumed you had them but I had no idea how they worked. This country we pay for them via the taxs we pay. I'm glad because we all need paper copies to loan. As you know everything is going digital now. Yeah I like to check out war memorials whenever I can. Thanks for watching as always Joe appreciate it
Yeah the fowl was so 😍 we have a lot of stables in the area. I think some if ours have been shutting just because people go digital now or moved into community centres. However all of our towns have them :)
@@RaymondoLeeTravel The Conservative Party since 2010 have been closing UK public libraries tbf. Many UK citizens used libraries as places to relax and study, not just borrow books. Unfortunately seems like our towns are also about lose these valuable public spaces.
Hahaha well I wasn't too sure 😅 in the uk they are slowly disappearing. We have big ones in towns and buses. The school has a good one. But some village ones starting to go. Thanks for watching mate appreciate it

Excuse my french; DAMN... what a change. When I worked a Blid pit, I used to turn left, (in a car), and go pastChicken Georges' Chip Shop on the RHS, then go into a slight'dip' in the road and there was a pub on the corner, opposite a 'Jet' petrol station??? Has my dementia got hold too quickly?
Hi Kevin, many thanks for dropping in and watching. Yes you are correct bliduth had a pub called the forest folk opposite the garage. we also had the white Lion up the hill thats also now gone and The jolly friar down the bottom of dale lane thats now gone and been turned into houses. You are right though its all change now. i actually bumped into george and his wife a few years ago as they had bought another chippy in annesley opposite the badgerbox but they sold it after a few years. Take care
@@RaymondoLeeTravel My Mum used to work part time at the 'Frair', when Jenny was the landlady. Yep, the Forest Folk is where we used to call in for a quick dinnertime pint after Friday day shift lol.At this rate, we'll end up being related lol. Regards, Kev.
Hello, The windmill is just a ruin now but its up on the hill where you see the path leading down. Its on private land so not able to get close to it. You have brought to my attention time stamps on this that ive no idea how they were made. thanks for watching.
Hello Raymondo! Picturesque views, thanks for sharing, your vid made me relax for a while 😁 May I ask what camera do you currently use? Is it still Osmo Action? It works perfectly, the picture is flawless.
Hi 👋 thanks for your kind comments and for watching and liking. Yes this upload was created using the osmo action camera in 4k 30fps. Not all my uploads are using this camera. Some are much older and some I do on my samsung note 9.
@@RaymondoLeeTravel OK thanks, I'm thinking about buying some light, handy camera but cannot make up my mind 😋 the one you're using seems to be perfect when it comes to the price/quality ratio
@@CatExplorers I did my research and overall I think for the price you can't go wrong. Its more reliable than a go pro, can use same attachments, costs less. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the software on the mobile app. I've been using i movie on the i pad instead
Also make sure to check out vlogging camera like the ones sony do. If your budget can stretch for filming indoors with your cats. Your footage is pretty good with whatever your using👍 my issue is pc speed just not quick enough for editing
@@RaymondoLeeTravel Thanks that you appreciate the quality, I'm doing my best to set the best possible light when filming indoors, I'm using my phone for now but definitely need a change. Thanks for the tips! 😄
Correction to amount of time I was in blidworth cadets. I was only in it for a few months before moving to Mansfield cadets.
