I'd really like to see this thing turned into a high horsepower build. The 7.3 is a really strong engine, but that van is heavy af, and you could really pump that engine up easily. I'm not saying that you should try for 800 whp, I'm just saying that it'd be cool to see it making 500 or 600 whp with a bigger turbo, more boost, and rolling coal. Every truck I own is a diesel, and I've been tempted to pump them all up at one point or another, but they're all work trucks, so bone stock they remain.

the 7.3 has weak rods they start breaking around 500whp
I think if you tuned it, or went through the engine real well, and threw a bigger turbo or twin turbo setup on it with some stout injectors and a better fuel pump/filter setup, it'd be a SWEET setup and Perfect to make into a rock crawling off road camping Monster!!

Looking good! Raptor liner is the way to go. Tans and black would be sweet! My orange jeep has been done for about 7 years now and it still looks new even after hundred of tree limbs and a couple tree's run down the sides.
Stoked that you got the van up and running so quickly! Personally I think you should do an interior conversion to make it livable in there. Having a rig that you can tow car with to tracks that are far away and be able to sleep in the van at the track would be sick! Also having a converted van just for camping would be badass!

Just try swapping the CPS, I know everyone says that but that fixed lot of my problems on my 7.3
Check the MAP sensor line and also the EBP sensor.
My e450 stock boost was only 10 lbs of boost until I chipped it with a ts 6 position
Now I run 32 psi with a billet wicked wheel and 1.0 ar exhaust housing
I'm so happy to see this van run and drive good job there not the easiest to work on some times also if you do a backup beeper put it on a switch
No switch. Get it on reverse light so it will get activated only on reverse
Do a full shop clear out and show selling of the parts 👍🏻👍🏻
I love the van. It's seems like the perfect road tripper. It doesn't need to be quick, just nice and reliable so you can take the fam away and do the occasional burnout.
stock 7.3 intercooled trucks waste gate opens around 15psi. usually they make 14-16psi depending on load. needs a TS chip

With diagnosing cat heui systems there would be a value for desired icp and actual, if that's an option for you to look at that would definitely show if you have a big variance between the two.

FDE/Desert Tan raptor liner with all black accents on 33s?? Sounds bad ass. Maybe a blacked out right rack and exterior lighting. Back ladder and fuel rack. Make it a bug out/ mountain camp rig.
I would copy the paint scheme of your truck onto this one, so that both your truck and van would look like a combo sitting next to one another.

I have to say that you literally have the vehicle that I would love to build, my vision was that it would be lifted on some decent suspension, 40” all terrain tyres, a big power upgrade, a full length roof rack with a pop up tent for the kids and seating that can transform into a comfortable bed for me and the wife.
I’d go for a white raptor lining on the body and orange for the wheels, roof rack and all of the trim pieces like the grill, mirrors, bumpers and door release handles. Something completely different from the usual military colours that have been done to death.
This thing is sick now it just needs some custom lights, the tint fixed, and the interior cleaned up
Edit: gray raptor liner would look really good, and for the interior maybe look at buying the interior from like a flex and make custom brackets?
Yo Trevy you should do pine tongue and groove interior in the back of that van and bolt down some couches
Has some fuel knock at start up and idle. Other than that it would be a great start to an overlanding build.
You need to wait for the glow plugs to heat up, there should be a light on the dash.

Unplug the icp and see if the pressures go to default or if it's at default. They will run fine with the icp unplugged just they will run at where the default trim is so you may already be at "default"
Build it for taking your beautiful family to the outdoors bud they will love it
Flat GunMetal Gray with black wheels and bumpers. For the inside i say keep the first row for passengers then everything behind it should be a custom RV type thing. (Rooftop tent/bed system)

Desert Tan with black wheels and accents!!! Maybe go the junk yard and get a four nice matching seats for the front to rows and clean that carpet or replace it Trevys Custom style and hook up that steering thing no death wooble.
corona virus response team van or like a zombie response team van, kinda like a mad max theme idea, now that would be pretty sick, put a mean grille up front, fat tires as you mentioned, bars over the windows, yank out the seats and do the camper set up inside, man you could do alot with this thing!

Keep it as a local even carrier. Or keep it as a carpool van. If y'all ever are going to an event and a buddy needs a ride. Pitch in on gas and let's go. Taylor ray had a 7.3 in his dully if I'm not mistaken. And he had boost issues like crazy.. you might wanna call him or watch the video of him resolving the boost problems
If only it was possible for you to do a 2011/2018 F250 dash swap on this, plus the front bucket seats.
The rear really looks like they need to be extended out a bit.

Would imagine there are two ways forward:
A. polish it up (headlights, paint-correction and polish, tires, check the brakes, oil chance etc.) and make some decent money by selling it
B. Add an intercooler, injectors, tune, bigger wheels, monstaliner or something similar, 2 bunk beds and go offroading :P LOL
P.S.: no, don't use it as a tow rig. You have the F350 - that's perfect for towing.

Raptor liner is not a good choice IMHO. Some individual or small CO ski resort is looking for a van like this. Do some simple touch ups and sell as is. Let them figure out what if and how they want to modify it.

Should have put a new oil cooler on it while it was apart. 7.3’s are notorious for the oil cooler o rings going out.

Cold start 7.3 tip.
Turn key on, wait for Glowplug light to go out. Then start cranking. If you just start cranking before the Glowplugs are hot you get a Long crank time and could damage the Glowplugs

As a relatively new guy here I don't know much of the history about the boogy van. But what I do know is if you aren't going to use it much I'd fix it up and flip it. Sitting won't do it any good and there's enough projects to spend that loot on. You get off those ice blocks yet? Digging the content! Wish there was a tad more Saab stuff but I get why there isn't.

the hard start my be from the IDM box stock box is 100 volts best to have is 120volts
Put a map sensor for an international DT530....gives you loads of bottom end rather then comin alive at 55 quick eaay plug and play

I say make it a drift tow rig and pimp it out on the inside with a couch mini fridge put some clean modern day panels in it with leds and a mini tv with some kind of inverter to power your 110 electric items and make sure the ac works it would be a great place to hang out during drift events to cool down if it gets too warm out in the summer

It also don't seem like the glow plug isnt working right also. The Quigley is going for around 9000$ fix it and sell it. You don't need to just let it sit. It needs a basket on top with light bar. Raptor line it. The tan and black looks good

Honda has a newer color called sonic grey or gray for the civic hatch it reminds me of the battle ship idea you were thinking
