twitter user @ louderup pointed out that the game awards game of the year 2016 was OVERWATCH, not UNCHARTED 4. i was going purely by memory and i now realize i did not actually watch the game awards in 2016. i'm sorry . . . i had something interesting to do that night. HOWEVER!!
HOWEVER! if i had gotten it right, that would have given us a day number of 106! which *is* cyberpunk 2077's release original date! i feel like a fool!!!!!!!!!! oops

"You probably think I bought my jacket at Urban Outfitters" is such a specific, detailed, scalpel-like cutting remark, that, while I can't imagine there being a better Tim Rogers bon mot in this video, I know with it being said at 11 of 45 minutes into this video there in fact WILL be a better one. This video is confusing me. Tim says he's going to publish tennis monster in this one year old video, but then in the TokiMeki memorial video he seems to have changed his mind and Tennis Monster has reverted back to a finished private novel. Tim we want to read it, the world is ready. You're ready.

I like the original Mass Effect trilogy, but it wasn’t a childhood game for me, so I am able to look at it critically without nostalgia getting in the way. I can honestly say that while the original trilogy are good games, they have plenty of faults. The side quests are often boring or very fetch-quest-like, the RPG elements are lacking in some respects (e.g. the money spending system in the first game, the limited weapons and limited ability to customize teammates in the second game, the ending of the third game, etc.) and the character creation is normally very difficult to work with, often resulting in characters that look great on the character creation screen and either hideous or mildly deformed outside of character creation. BioWare has just always really sucked at character creation in my personal opinion, though.

Tim Roger's hype for games is so dense, he consistently convinces me to buy games that, 10 seconds after starting, I find are completely against every atom of my being. I didn't like Dragon Quest XI, but he convinced me to buy it, and ten minutes in I found out that I absolutely hated the thing. He convinced me to buy Death Stranding, and ten minutes in I found out that I absolutely hated Death Stranding AND somehow Hideo Kojima.
Therefore, I suspect that, as one of the few people who has possibly played and consumed more RPGs than Tim will ever in his life, somehow, irrevocably, I will not like CB2077, and will walk away from the experience profoundly disappointed in the notion of existence.
Tim should be hired to ideate, produce, and market games as, it doesn't really matter what the final product is. This man could sell you on old Atari copies of ET... Still half buried under garbage.

I just woke up from a dream where the Kotaku office had a publicly held contest, which stated that the first person who could parkour up the walls to Tim Roger's secret loft balcony office got an entire day to use his PC and play a pre-release copy of Cyberpunk 2077. Naturally I was able to shimmy along a window ledge and leap across the common room grabbing a pipe and making my way up to the strange lofted PC setup before any other contestent. There was a note on Tim's desk. It was written haphazardly in red magic marker, and informed me to look inside the liner of the bomber jacket resting on the desk's chair. A hidden lable within the jacket informed me that the pre-release build of Cyberpunk 2077 was buried in the game files of Ghost of Tsushima which was currently loaded onto the PC, and only by playing through it until the first time "thewindrises.exe" appeared in the coding (and clicking on that line in the code) would the pre-release version of Cyberpunk 2077 actually launch. I played hours of Ghost of Tsushima. More and more contestants who had followed in my path gathered behind my screen. My character became lost in a stone maze as I scrolled through miles of code only to find nothing. My alarm woke me.

Considering how hyped everyone was (except for me because I wasn't too interested in it, though I paid attention to everything because I love observing events like this), and considering the final product and the reaction of said hyped "everyone"; let's just say I'm really looking forward to the Action Button review of Cyberpunk 2077 simply because of how interesting this situation is, and interested in how different his opinion is of it when the video releases will be.
