Getting your CO2 cylinders filled for fueling your planted aquariums can be an adventure! Here’s how I refill mine -where I go, how much I pay and other tips and fun facts.
I use a local fire protection service (I’m in California) to refill my c02 cylinders… about half the cost of the local welding supply. Thanks for the informative video!!
Interesting stuff. I didn't use co2 because my plants were the "can't kill them" varieties, but I might when I start up the hobby again once I get moved back to Houston. I'm really thinking about going large, like 250g, but with all nano fish. Although that red crypt I had that was growing really well probably would have actually turned red instead of rust colored with co2.
Hey there. It's trickier using CO2 in huge tanks. I do it in my 135 but any bigger I'm thinking the only way is with an in-line diffuser and a lot of output!
Funny you mentioned the dangers of this place . One of two places in my area i shop there was a fire there. Some cylinder shot accross and over an elevated highway. Was scary a shit. Just watching the news video. I worked literally across the street in a midas auto shop out of high school
Thank you, I had just assumed it was more costly. In Buffalo NY you can go to Irish propane 70 Katherine St. 14210 for refills
Thank you for the data!
Thanks you Steffan for sharing this part of hobby. Same sort of prices in NY.
You want an eye roll tell your wife you’re off to buy some gas!
New subscriber! Keep up the good work!

interesting vid dad!
Oddball part of the hobby for sure :)

Interesting... Is that the same as a fire dept station or something different?
They are a fire extinguisher sales and service company and also provide fire safety training.. separate from the local fire dept
@@spotweldon1 I see ... Thank you!

Yikes! In a way these gas stores are like the fireworks factories that always go off in cartoons!
@@LushSaltyAquariums that is exactly how it looked and sounded. Many explosions
@@josepolanco1228 Curious was anybody hurt?
@@LushSaltyAquariums no. And it happened during the night. Not many people around
