Which Dry Fish Food is Better (Flake or Pellet)?
It was great meeting you this weekend, the tanks look incredible and plants!
Likewise!!!!
Really makes the colors of your neon tetras pop! I personally like plants more than blackwater. But thats just me. I have enjoyed watching this tank evolve. Its been very interesting. Would changing the setting on your background light stimulate the plant growth you are looking for? Just wondering. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for commenting. To my knowledge the background light has no effect on plants in any setting. But I'm not 100% certain. I have thought about it...
You're spoiling us with so many videos!!
Is it too many?
@@LushSaltyAquariums Never! I appreciate the content. If I had the skill to make my tanks look this good I'd be posting regularly lol.
@@Scaperoot79 Thank you for the clarification. I'm pleased you appreciate the content :)
those tetras can be caught with patience and the expense of your lower back
Where there's a will... However, from my seat in the fish room it is the Neons that I see and I would likely miss them, even if the Licorice Gouramis did not.
A smaller tank but a large vista, plenty to see and enjoy!
Agreed! And thank you for the support :)
I PAINTED THE BACK OF ONE MY TANKS LIGHT BROWN BEFORE BECAUSE THATS ALL I HAD AND FELL IN LOVE WITH THE LOOK. IN RIVERS AND LAKE FROM WHERE MOST OF THE FRESHWATER FISH SPECIES WE KEEP THE WATER IS RARELY BLACK AND NEVER BRIGHT BLUE. THE BROWN GLOW SETS THAT TANK APART
True AF, AF! Thanks for dropping by :)
Cheers and keep it up 👍👍🙋♂️
Danke! What's the weather like by you? assuming it's hottest time and wondering how your ecosystems are faring...
Just set up my first LifeGard tank, the same bookshelf as this--and my first rimless tank ever! Thanks for inspiring me to finally take the plunge.
I have a similar cubical small aquarium what i need to do remove smell. as it smell bad some time.Which plant would be good.
A bad smell may not be rectified by adding plants (please check your water chemistry and substrate condition) though abundant healthy plants will mitigate the issues that cause certain foul aromas. Hornwort and many other fast growing easy plants can be very beneficial. Good luck!
Nice setup
TY! This is my most "low tech" aquarium. But it gives me a lot of joy :)
I use plant holders like you have in 2 tanks. I noticed the other day one of my female white clouds, (I have golden white clouds)going in and out of the slats on the holder. Then a male. Fingers crossed I see eggs soon on the patho's roots that are inside the holder.
Sounds promising! 🙏
🌵☘️
TY for stopping by!
This really is a wonderful little set up. The Anubias looks so happy!
@@audrameyer9558 the Anubias are in their element for sure!
meanwhile, my previously bare-bottom holding tank for Anubias and some fish just got substrate.
@@MorningDriftwood more than one way to skin a tank!
How much time per week do you spend on maintenance on your tanks? They look awesome
Well... Though i spend very little time on this particular tank I spend probably 7-10 hours per week "with my hands in a tank." But it's a labor of love for me. And honestly it should be for every hobbyist.
@@LushSaltyAquariums nice! I agree totally! I don’t consider it to be labor at all😆👍🏻
Keep it up Steffan and greetings from Germany ☺👋
Thank you, Matthias!
How in the heck do you get corys to not dig up the carpet ?
Hook it up with some moss ! Lol I’m in Chicago
@@DavidTorres-fb9lh Plant a lot and plant deep! And yes the moss is like "caulking" :)
Absolutely stunning !! in my opinion you've got a big knowledge concern the hobby due to your early being on this , you create a peace of art in your leaving room and the rainbows Male are stunning everything looks perfect
@@S.MO.K thank you so much, dear friend. Aquariums are living art for sure!
Oh man what a wonderful display of variety. Well done man 🎉
@@4kfishes much obliged, 4k. Thank you for the compliment!
That's a beautiful set up.. I smashed all your buttons thanks for checking out my other channel munky wrench aquatics
beautiful tank, what was the contest? could we get a update on on the carpet
flip aquatics had a nano tank aquascaping contest! I made the final four but did not win. Lots of fun though :)
@@LushSaltyAquariums that's a winner's attitude my man! stoked to see everything grow into itself in the future those licorice really set off that beautiful scape.
@@yoYogurtYodeler Yup- not to sound like a snowflake, but everyone with a healthy aquarium a winner ;)
I really respect you for your normal videos with normal human speech without any grimaces, antics, special effects and annoying, tiring musics or drums or sounds in the background.
Thank you so much for the validation! I tend not to like all that crap either plus it takes a lot of time and effort to create detracting from what matters.
Beautiful tank, and you are so right about the Chihiros lights. They are great. I have so many problems keeping Brasilian Pennyworth.
@@seannunes2041 thank you for the comment. It’s funny how we all have certain plants that give us unique challenges.
I might have asked you before, but wondering if you lose any pencilfish to jumping in open top tanks? Mine used to always jump out at night until I installed moonlight
@@tropicalfishhub maybe one in almost two years!
Yet another great example by Lush & Salty Aquariums.
@@the186element9 wow, 186 - that’s quite a compliment. TY!
Most underrated aquarium channel on TH-cam!!
@@the186element9 OMG- this is like the penultimate compliment. But from all my subs I feel appreciated. Wiser world? Maybe add one day :)
I agree, the plants are super freaken beautiful! Has to feel very satisfying to see what was in your head come together in the tank. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad.
Yup. In this hobby (and life), one has to make concessions as well as take chances. Shame this can't be said for our political system ;)
So vibrant!
Vibrant. That is a good word for it!
Hang in there Anubias!
I'm still praying on the 2.0 version 🙏
👌
😎
Beautiful like always.aybe swap the big Anubis for another plant from another tank cause it really is wanting less light? Great video Thanks for sharing
Yes, something like that a strong possibility. But there are multiple Anubias in that cluster and some are sprouting new leaves. I am not a patient man but I will wait this one out a bit longer🙏
Beautiful tank!
Well, it is eye catching ... even hurting! TY, Talisa :)
beautiful
Thank you very much, Soniya!
is the tank injected with co2?
Yes. However, that has no impact on the above-water growth, which gets all its CO2 from the air.
Wow! And i cant barely get my algea to grow😂
@@Theoffish1 lol and thank you for the support! Good luck with that algae ;)
Tank looks awesome!
Another fan of the "lovely mess" - thank you!
If you want more views change title to "man eats all fish in the aquarium, grows horns" 😂 Excellent tank and video
Or: "Eating Fish makes Man Horny."
@@LushSaltyAquariums 😂 no man, that'll turn off the female viewers. Stick with horns 😂
@@drumultabereim5 😈📯
This tank is stunning Stefan, I love all the plants on top, so beautiful 😁👍
'Tis a Lovely Mess!
I have a 55 gallon planted tank with mostly melanotaeniidae rainbows (nowhere near as big as yours), some congo tetras, a bigger angelfish. I have a small tank with a blue zebra cichlid because I thought I got rid of all the african cichlids I had but a baby managed to stick around, I've had it in a tiny tank by himself until I could figure out what to do with him, none of the shops around me would take him, he's getting bigger, I've been avoiding putting him in the bigger tank because I thought he might attack other fish or destroy everything as he gets bigger, do you think this would be the case?
@@otallono alas, you’ve found my blind spot. I do not have any personal experience with African cichlids. You could try putting a notice on FB marketplace forum or taking the animal to a big box pet store, where they generally take anything as a courtesy to customers. I do think your intuition to move him out is correct.
I have a serious case of tank envy right now😆
@@Scaperoot79 fond of the lovely mess I’ve created, are you? 😂
ADDENDUM TO VIDEO: Not Neon Green Rasbora. They are Neon Blue Rasbora (very different :) The Rotala growing out of tank is 90% likely Rotala Rotundifolia
Beautiful My plants never survive.
Why not? can i help you with them?
I have good lighting and started off with root tabs and they all die in a month. Tried so many plants and they never live. I think the tanks is jinxed. The fish are so happy cause they have cover etc but then the plants die and fish aren’t the same.
@@tktropicals4997 Do you use any kind of soil? And is whatever substrate you do use deep enough to support roots growth (for stems)? Also- There are super easy plants you can try: Val, Pealweed, hornwort... They are almost bullet proof.
@@LushSaltyAquariums I have soil and sand on top Deep enough for plants in my 20H tank.. I tried stem plants and they grow well but then they die off and just sit on top of water. My yo yo fish unrooted them another way they died. LOL I did just put in a jungle val and it seems to be ok. Been 2 months. I have a crypt that seems to be growing and Anubis on a piece of wood that is ok but val not growing like I heard. It grows like a weed, well not in my tank. PH water is 7.5 and temp is 78-81. I put some sage plants in my 10gal and they are ok been 3 weeks with some melting. I did add some root tabs to both tanks. I guess I gotta be patient. I tied hornwort but messy and never hear of pealweed
@@tktropicals4997 Give the Val a few more weeks. it often takes 2+ months to get started but once it does... also: Pearlweed is a super hearty lush growing stem.
All those roots must help so much in preventing algae!
Yup. Algae not a problem in this tank!
Beautiful tank mate. I love your tanks. Regards Duzzy🇦🇺
You're the best, DD!
This tank is my favorite! 😍
Ooh, you like 'em au naturel!
