The best advice to give for this great game is to look around, talk to people often, eat a fish and just enjoy the ride. Unfortunately, Yoko Taro removed the breaks when you weren't looking and OH MY GO-
One of the best games I've ever played, the soundtrack alone is worth listening to almost everyday. The story and gameplay are one of the greatest in a long list of Square games.
Why, yes, the music rocks. It is also a language created for the game. A future-ish fusion of several languages. And then they got this singer to sing it like it's their natural tongue.
The Nier/drakengard lore and timeline is one of the most crazy cool and insane in history. There's a video detailing it all and it's 6 1/2 hours long and doesn't even get to everything
Damn, you never played Nier Dipper? It's one of my three favorite games of all time along with FFIX and FFVII. Hell, don't crucify me for this, but last play through I did of remake I modded in 2b instead of Tifa XD
It's my favorite game. Always happy to see new people discover it for the first time. Regarding the lore and why people left the Earth you should play Nier:Replicant for a lot of context. Both games tell beautiful story and I'm always crying playing these games.
I remember I bought Automata on a whim I think about a month or 2 after it released.. I was casually having fun with it right up until I took an elevator to a certain place. At which point, my jaw dropped. I had to stop what I was doing, and I've been obsessing over the lore ever since. I cannot talk both Automata and Replicant up enough, Yoko Taro has turned me into a lore addict. The man sticks lore into live orchestra conserts with no warning, I've been translating Hexadecimal code that barely flashes the screen in the anime to try and figure out what it all means. There's a real 16th century alphabet known as the Angelic/Celestial alphabet. It's been in the game since the series first started way back in 2003 with a game called Drakengard. which is an ENTIRELY nother can of worms, But the point is that it translates into real shit... Yoko Taro did this to me, and he'll do it to you too!
This is a great game. For me, it's literally the best in terms of story, with some very special and unique ideas at the very end. The game takes full advantage of the interactive nature of what a video game even is, it's unique and sublime
yea is a great game in my opinion, solid gameplay, great music, and design, and a very nice story, but don't want to spoil a thing, please have fun with it and enjoy the journey and the wild ride of Yoko Taro
There is no game like this one. It may not seem that way at first, but the more you play it the better it gets. Without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played.
Still my favourite game of all time. I knew nothing about it going in, bought it on a whim, and had the time of my life. Those high ratings are from people who saw the final ending and went "Man, I did not think games did that". OST is also top-tier. Keiichi Okabe is up there with Soken as my favourite videogame composers. The director though... He's something else. He wears a mask of one of the characters at all public appearances, and he has gone on promotional video for a new shirt rolling on the floor saying "NIER AUTOMATA T-SHIRT, NIER AUTOMATA T-SHIRT, F*CK SQUARE ENIX"... Have fun, enjoy, prepare tissues.
@@angel__king and if you play replicant first then you already have an idea on Automata’s big twist in route B which is a major bombshell without the prior knowledge of Replicant. And Emil doesn’t play too large of a role in Automata so it’s not like it’s really gonna ruin anything
I think this is kind of a dumb debate. The games were clearly both made so that either one could be first and you would get different big reveals depending on that order. Both orders are totally valid.
Two things...i would love to see Dipper play P4 and see her reaction to somethings in there plus...it doesn't have to be streamed or anything but...i would love to see Dipper play Baldur's Gate 3...she would have fun with everyone there
How to say it… this game is an experience Sure the story is great, but this game showed me, that game can be an art form and there is something that only this genre can make you feel, which the others kind of art can’t
Before XIV, (at patch 5.3) Nier was my fav game of all time. Please take your time and hit some of the optional quests. This is another story I wish I could forget so I could re-experience. Also, Platinum games makes some really good action ^_^
You should watch Skill Up review (at least the intro). I believe it represents perfectly what most people that like this game think. Also what Jim Sterling said: "if history forgets this game, then f history"
I am just watching a trailer for a game and i am already crying, Automata is such a good game, without a doubt one of the best games and best strories i have ever witness.
Tbis game touched me more than most any other. There are certain songs that can still make me cry if im not prepared. I can't feckin wait for this. The fun and the not fun both
Great action gameplay, amazing soundtrack, and a mind-screw-y storytelling style. It's worth your time. You should also look up some stuff about the creator, Yoko Taro. He's... different.
If you're playing Automata on Steam, you're in luck. You missed out on the game being in bad shape for the longest time. It was in a bad shape for over 4 years until an official patch fixed it in July of '21... over 4 years after its release. Plays great without issue now.
Definitely one of the best games I ever played. Although I also know it's not for everyone, because you gotta like story heavy games that don't feed you the answers.
NieR is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I LOVE all the NieR experiences so far. I CANNOT praise and recommend NieR enough! And i'm not sure if you're aware, this is technically a sequel, but playing the first game is NOT necessary to enjoy Automata. also, NieR 3 already happened. it was a mobile game but square shut it down. so. We're waiting on 4 now.
if she wants to know the lore she actually needs to plat Drakengars series and read the manga and novel then go to replicant before Automata so she will know the lore TBH it is mind breaking but worth it😅
my only complaint about this game is the map is kind of small while the desert part is too big aside from that its one of my all time favorites, the replicant rerelease is great too overall i like its story better though even with the upgrades you can still feel some of its rougher game design that they didnt quite have nailed down when it was first made. the rerelease fixed lots bu there was some they had to leave in to avoid changing the game completely
This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This can not continue This is going to be an AMAZING journey. Also, are you going for all 26 ending? the 5 main? or just 1?
Automata will knock you on your ass, Replicant will drown you in a pool of your own tears. Have fun Dipper, these are two games that stay with you long after they're completed.
Never played Nier, but I'm glad I will be able to see the gameplay for the first time in your stream!! Let's find why so many people find 2B such an awesome character besides the looks~ On the side note: You can hear the "Oh shit" change of tone when she realized she need skills for the game instead of luck
I'm fully willing to accept AI as a human-equivalent entity if/when it happens to ascend. Also, is it even an RPG if you're not trying to unalive god at some point?

Welcome to the world of Yoko Taro, Dipper.
Why, yes, the music rocks. It is also a language created for the game. A future-ish fusion of several languages. And then they got this singer to sing it like it's their natural tongue.
The singer, Emi Evans, actually wrote the language herself!
The Nier/drakengard lore and timeline is one of the most crazy cool and insane in history. There's a video detailing it all and it's 6 1/2 hours long and doesn't even get to everything
2B is very popular, she was in the previous Soul Calibur game as a guest character and she is also in the recent Granblue Fantasy fighting game.
Also in Nikke and some other IP's I think. 2B is probably up there with Tifa in the most popular female characters from a SE game.
The OST for this game is top tier
Damn, you never played Nier Dipper? It's one of my three favorite games of all time along with FFIX and FFVII.

I only have 380 hours and all achievements (not achievement hunter) in the game, hope to catch you streaming it. Yes, I kinda like the the game :D
Game Awards winner for music for both Replicant and Automata btw
This is a great game. For me, it's literally the best in terms of story, with some very special and unique ideas at the very end.
The game takes full advantage of the interactive nature of what a video game even is, it's unique and sublime
Nier is absolutely one of the best series I’ve ever played. Also it’s kinda funny to me how the rating is like “pure genius 4/5”
I hope this won't be one of those playthrough where the cc plays the game for like 2 hours says "I love it" and then proceeds to never play it again
yea is a great game in my opinion, solid gameplay, great music, and design, and a very nice story, but don't want to spoil a thing, please have fun with it and enjoy the journey and the wild ride of Yoko Taro
this game was a masterpiece of a slow burner for me. imho one of the best written video games out there

Dang that's a shame. There's a lot of stuff that hits harder in Automata if Replicant was played first but people really love 2B
When you think about it, some of the reveals in Automata honestly hit harder when you don’t have the knowledge of replicant to kind of hint you along
@@wizardwolf1020not really. It completely ruins the Emil reveal and spoils a bit of what happens at the end of replicant

One of the greatest games ever made right here. I very highly recommend paying Nier Replicant as well.
ive 100% this and then played Nier remake man just listening to the songs in those trailers im getting goosebumps.. Holy what a game
Automata first into replicant actually works better at not spoiling twists of Automata. Still play both. Bomb haw dropper of the games.
0:14 the noise you made was cute❤
The first game to ever make me cry, its just so beautiful and such an amazing game
@dipperdog there's been 5 niers, technically. The 3 drakengards, and the two (3?) Niers.
both nier games are still on the top best games ive ever played.
I wouldn't claim that Nier Automata is a perfect game, but it sure as hell is one of my favorite ever

Hope you enjoy the wild ride this game is going to send you 😂
Music is phenomenal too 🔥
The way I always describe this game is: It is a playable piece of art.
I think you will have a good time with it!
6.19, huh? I am so in.

NieR Automata is a phenomenal game. I think you'll love it.
When I first played this I dodged so much I broke my right bumper(dodge button)and had to replace it.

I'm still sadge that only way to have A2 hairstyles in FFXIV is to mod it even though certain npcs in alliance raids have them.
If ya really want to know more about the lore, you should really play replicant! but starting with either is fine. Hope you have an amazing time!!

About the AI stuff... ya... AI... 😂 I guess you'll see😔 just keep playing and after the game... ends 😂

Can't wait.
I finished this a month ago, took a while but damn it was good in playing nier replicant the 1st game automata is the sequel
Sad that you won’t play replicant first. Playing the sequel first is gonna make things a bit confusing
favorite game; this is just... different...
Theres only 1 encounter that requires skill in this game. The red belt battle.
2b is so cool 😎
Be ready to cry and question your existence.
Yes
Oh forgot there is now an anime for Nier: automata
i still havent done that Nier raid 🤣🤣
Guys explain to me again why are we startingbwith nier 2 instead of nier 1?
Because the fans voted for it
thats true for me
oh this should be fun.
sequel before prequel, hoo boy
9:38 WHAT!?
i see 2b i hit like
Play both

I can after I finish playing to avoid spoilers
