Just got it for myself as late christmas present 😅 Will be a switch from curved 27' 1440p QD-VA panel . Always i wanted the QD-OLED and that MSI one was the only reasonable option and best specs that i was looking for. Now i cant wait for it, will replay all my games that support hdr and i already know i will be mindblown. Only a slight change someone would say but i know how OLED's look and the difference still will be abyssmal. I hope you enjoy your monitor as i will be soon 😉
Hi!! Yes this monitor is very good and plus Bestbuy had it for 699 so took the bait and got it. I had an LG 39" 1440 ultrawide monitor and it was very tough deciding what to use because I like the width of ultrawide but I will give that to my dad and use the MSI one. Have a good day!!
@ I really don’t use HDR. When I do use it it would be for TH-cam videos of nature scenes but that is about it. I would use the windows calibration and set it there. For normal viewing I don’t use the brightness at max I have it around 70 and contrast around the same. I do use premium color settings to bring out the colors. When I get home tonight I will give you my setting.
@@stinkerpot70 ah ok i really appreciate it. I feel that watching any game in 4K HDR on this monitor and its relevants is only way to see true level of it.
@@H2_S0_4 My settings for this monitor (SDR) Game Mode - (Premium Color), Brightness (65), Contrast (65), Sharpness (0), Color Temp (Normal). For Display HDR - (True Black 400). Also if you are using a Nvidia graphic card I use Digital Vibrance at (67). The colors pop on my screen depending on what your room situation is (windows, lights) this is what I use. Also use the Windows HDR Calibration and after set that up u can use Window key +Alt + B and will switch HDR on. As I mentioned earlier I don't use it and the text looks wierd on my end. I might try to make a video on settings. Have a good night!!
How do you find the white balance while in HDR? For me, it's been an adjustment trying to get used to how warm it is. And you can't adjust much while in HDR. Also, what graphics card is in your PC? I ask because, apparently, you need a specific type of graphics card to update the monitor firmware. However, I've read that people with older graphics cards updated successfully. I've even read of people managing to upgrade with mini PCs that just use integrated graphics.
On the graphic card I have a Nvidia 4070 super. I didn't have any issues doing the firmware just make sure when you download it unzip it and just follow the step by step instructions with MSI website. I didn't have any problems and did it in 1 take. On the HDR honestly I don't use it. I tried calibrating it with Windows HDR calibration and just the letters or text was just off and it was bright I think if I left it on any longer I would have had tattoos of text on my retina. The colors in premium really do a a good job.

@stinkerpot70 do you have any pro tip about ingame settings of hdr? Like what max brightness and paper white to set up to match the monitor ?
