My priest told me that the corporal should theologically square and in 9 folds. What is the theological reason for this?

The corporal symbolizes both the burial shroud of Christ, and the Body of Christ. The nine squares symbolize the perfection of Christ: 8 is the number of Man, plus one = the perfect Man.
