I enjoy being able to see them while they play this out. I would greatly appreciate it if they did this more. Even without the outfits. Just seeing these actors at work, is amazing! Love the show!
Could we get a crossover scenario between TAP and Chaotic Neutral, I don't know if there's a two faction scenario or anything like that, but if we could get Dan, Joseph and Dannan on CN along with 3 of the CN regulars and Dom keeping it would change lives
Man this channel really should have way more subs by now. Hopfully having their ugly mugs on display attracts a larger audience. Being able to see these gentlemen perform their roles really adds to the experience.
I’ve come to like these even more than chaotic neutral tbh. Especially the ones that are set in the 1920s. Something about seeing classic scenarios played straight and done really well is just so satisfying
So much this. I saw these first and now can't help wish the NRB players were a bit more serious and straight about them all. They're still fun, but I do prefer the Apoc Players. Each to their own though, and I'm not going to yuck anyones yum who prefer the comedy.
Have to agree too - much as I like NRB, with them it's more about being as funny as possible all the time and the dramatisation of the story is very secondary. With TAP, I can enjoy the adventure their characters are in, knowing any comedy moments will play out naturally, but that the story they are all part of telling comes first. TAP are the TTRPG group I'd want to be a part of.
@@simonc3847 yes, very much this. And another thing I have realised in the last few days, I can have NRB happily in the background, and potter about doing other trivial tasks , but with TAP I find , myself either lying down with headphones on totally engrossed or sitting drinking tea watching a screen that doesn't really change as I listen intently.
Probably say it's worth watching both, as Dom makes references to his podcast scenarios every now and then in Chaotic Neutral. Like there's a villain who very briefly appears in the finale of NRB's campaign (the one on the boat) who came from one of The Apocalypse Players sessions.
Can’t wait to see more in the flesh! I get giddy whenever I see an upload where Dom is hosting, both here and on chaotic neutral. Happy late Halloween everyone 🎃
I thought my group had a horrible conclusion to this scenario until I watched this, thanks Apocalypse Players for making us feel better about ourselves
Wow man 👏👏👏 I did not see this coming what a story I was expecting this to go many more episodes just going by the audio scenarios going 10-13 episodes so the fact everyone just went completely insnae and it tunred into a horrific shit show so fast was amazing😂 I was attached to these characters too already preparing myself for Love this classic setting and characters the music and everything is just perfect for Call of Cthulhu
What an excellent one-shot! And in a delightful change of format, the entities known as "the Apocalypse Players" have taken their (un)earthly forms to subject our fragile minds to even greater eldritch horrors. Sanity rolls abound...
thanks for uploading the video version - to my American brain you all sound very similar and I can't follow the audio-only podcast versions very well :( I think once i've watched a lot of these I'll be able to tell your voices apart and can revisit the podcasts :)
as someone who struggles with mentally visualizing; i love these on-camera videos. i love the podcast but sometimes my brain can’t visualize what im hearing without an actual visual (if that makes sense) which is why i love these type of videos so much
Well, what a story that was... Fantastic as always. Are you lot actors by any chance? How much harder is video production compared to audio production? Can you consider this experiment a success? As a viewer, I can tell you that video is a bit easier to digest compared to audio, seeing how the players cover their faces in horror really pulls the strings of my soul.
I know a lot of people will happily consume podcasts as just audio but my brain refuses to focus on just audio, so I need at least subtitles to reliably pay attention... But also seeing the expressions of whoever is talking makes it easier to make out who's talking when. This was extremely enjoyable like this, thank you for the extra effort, video production is no joke!
@@hranisame, I really struggle to stay focussed on audio only so I hope this video is the first of many for the group! I really appreciate the extra time and effort that has gone into producing it, but more please!! ❤️
Joined the Patreon last week to get access to the history and other stuff and decided to watch these and listen to others on walks. Plan changed I had one on on a walk to Sainsburys. Got so into it, walked straight past Sainsburys. I love the videos and if they didn't exist I wouldn't even know of this group, but to all those not subbed or heard the audio ones, so it. Even just for a month. They feel so immersive and neck tinglingly good.
@@apocplayers I knew it was mostly available for free, but very much wanted to support the channel (it's my new obsession) and to get access to the exclusive stuff. Also feel the need to point out, and it might have been already so apologies if it has, that Dom knows it's actually 'Play it, Sam' not 'Play it again, Sam'. I knew he'd be the sort of chap that knew that. Well played sir, well played.
I haven't heard the song in closing in on two decades now, but that chanting my Iggy struck me like that "breakdown" part in the middle of Korn's Freak on a Leash where Jonathon just starts scatting :D
Oh for the love! Well, I wasn’t expecting that ending….😂. I’ve ran this scenario several times, and I can’t say it ever ended like that! Wow! Thanks guys! I look forward to the next one!
Thanks so much! If you haven’t already discovered our podcast, there’s a backlog of about 20 scenarios in professionally edited audio format for your enjoyment…
I loved running Deadlight! at one point my investigators tried barring a door of the cabin and braced against it... until the door turned to charred wood and they fled for their lives 😆
I loved it too! I had the Dead Light descend like a waterfall of light from the roof of the cottage, splitting the party as they exited the front door. Great fun!

Great series - Dom was obviously awesome, and I loved Iggy Sugar! I can see that there is a vague trigger-warning in the description, but feel that some specific themes really need highlighting - the sudden appearance of abortion as a theme came out of nowhere for me, and is pretty distressing for many. Still, now I feel obliged to go back and work my way back through the AP back-catalogue! X
Iggy's scatting was definitely very Korn-ish, so glad you pointed it out as well. As for the person complaining about death/dying rules, maybe they don't know it has changed with 7th edition? My first Call of Cthulhu was Kikoskia's 'podcast' on TH-cam, where he used 6th edition rules and PCs went unconscious on 2 HP and died once they reached zero and received no healing within a round. Also why were the players so determined to kill Emilia in the end? Did they mix her up with Mary?
Just for future reference, do y’all have any preference between catching up on your backlog here on TH-cam or via a generic podcast app? If most of y’all’s support comes through Patreon anyway, I’d figure there’s not a huge difference between the two, but idk how the nitty-gritty would split when accounting for TH-cam Premium/whatever visibility help y’all might get for hitting download thresholds or whatever :)
We don’t make any income whatsoever from downloads so do what suits you really… unless you use Apple Podcasts, where reviews and ranking are a bit more visible - so I guess that’s best of all?
@@apocplayers Gotcha, thanks for the quick response and for maintaining a substantive library of work! Found y'all via Dom's NRB crossovers - the more serious tone + large volume of classic scenarios should make for a fun binge :) I wasn't sure if y'all had monetization on here in case that shifted the calculus (not that even the premium payouts are that good iirc), but all else being equal, listening via Apple Podcasts seems like a no-brainer.

Should also add that Dom has to be keeper because he wants to murder everyone equally
That'd be sick
YESSSSS
iggy gradually becoming posessed by Jonathan Davies from KoRn with the demonic scatting was beyond hilarious and enjoyable to witness.
absolutely brilliant performance!
He invented nu metal in the 1920s!
Love how this one just exploded with sanity checks once the excrement hit the oscillator.
Man this channel really should have way more subs by now. Hopfully having their ugly mugs on display attracts a larger audience. Being able to see these gentlemen perform their roles really adds to the experience.
Scatting as a sign of mental instability is my new favorite thing. Something about that just feels accurate.

I'm relistening to the crack'd and crook'd manse and just got to the part where Johannes Bergman looks for a penknife :p
