no sound quality difference that I know of. Mayyyyybe depending on the type of cable you use.

I'd recommend a dedicated recorder. A phone is more expensive and you dont want to tie up your main phone for an entire set.

I want to recordmy dj mixes on my DR 40x but the mics keep picking up the outside noIse (Cueing, moving the plates).
How do i get the mix only?

You have to go into the recording settings and select external instead of internal. make sure you have cables hooked into your mixer and the recorder.

Does the Tascam let you create start IDs for each new track and do they carry over when playing on another device?
