Scratching on vinyl should never get old when done by a pro. It's classic and simply awesome to see.

You can actually scratch digitally also, no need for vinyl unless you want to have a large set up say in a club or something like that. But you can actually scratch digitally in your own home without all the expensive equipment.

I needed that session!!! I'm 51. I grew up on DJs tearing up the wax. They were integral part of hip hop from my generation. Too bad...today's artists have forgotten one of the ELEMENTS of HIP HOP!!!!

It's a time code record. The sound samples are virtually projected onto the record using a software called Native Instruments Traktor. See 2:00, 2:32 and 3:03 where he changes the projected samples. A time code record contains signals that are recognized by the software. The software plays the sounds according to these signals. If you play the record faster or backwards, the software plays the sound samples accordingly.

@@djscratchdogjust saw this for the first time and usually I wouldn't be so quick to say this but you are now at the top of my list as far as greatest DJ on the planet.
watching your slide hand takes me back...I used to live with two DJ turntablists and they could scribble about as fast....and the tracks you sample are close to the ones they'd find at the record store. One of them was more your style and the other guy was more house music and techno with dub step. I love what you're spinning. Mix-Master Mike was cool. I got to see him a couple times. And DJ Scribble.
I woke up scrolling through TH-cam saw your video and played it. This made my morning man good looking out! I remember going to underground clubs and raves just to watch the DJ man. This made my day good looking out my brother and continue to be the best!
In the past everyone were so excited about the future. Now that we are here, we are scared of the future and much rather wana go back to the past. ❤

In 92 we went to Earl's Court for a DJ's equipment show or something along those lines and they had the worlds no1 scratch DJ' there. He was amazing.

This is the way...great skills on the one. That's how you freestyle on the wheel of steel! I'm 48 and bustin out the new digital age with my 16 yr old son who wants to do it. Different but same concept, nothing beats the feel of vinyl under your fingers and the pull of the belt from that turntable. I told him...THAT'S how you do it right there bud, on a vinyl record. I wish I had my 1200's from back in tha day, let him get a taste ya know? You don't have to be the best at it, just doing it and making people dance or just listen? Its all good. Theeze kats just haten because they young and don't have to search for the next record anymore, load deck A, and B. psss hahaha thanks bruh.
I feel you on that man. 24 years and counting and I went to digital kicking and screaming. I still use real vinyl along with dvs. I miss the vinyl but I dont miss carrying it around everywhere.

I knew Q-Bert back in the days. Him and this guy named DJ Rob were two of the best scratchers I knew. He went by Robski then but is still doing it today as DJ Rob Flow. Might have seen him in the Chappelle Show’s I Know Black People skit. But that dude was awesome.
