    Chicken Shahi Daal Mash Recipe
    Ingredients:For the Daal Mash:
    1 cup Daal Mash (split urad dal)
    4 cups water
    1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    1/2 tsp red chili powder
    Salt to taste
    For the Chicken:
    500g chicken,
    cut into pieces
    2 tbsp oil
    1 large onion
    , finely chopped
    2 tomatoes, chopped
    1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
    1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    1 tsp red chili powder
    1 tsp coriander powder
    1/2 tsp garam masala
    1/2 cup yogurt, whisked
    Salt to taste
    Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
    2-3 green chilies,
    chopped (optional)
    Instructions
    Prepare the Daal Mash:
    Wash and soak the daal mash in water for about 30 minutes.Drain the water and add the daal mash to a pressure cooker.Add 4 cups of water, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.Cook the daal mash until it is soft and mushy. If using a pressure cooker, cook for about 4-5 whistles.Once cooked, mash the daal slightly with the back of a spoon and set aside.
    Cook the Chicken:
    Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and oil starts to separate.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.Add the chicken pieces to the pan and cook until the chicken is browned on all sides.Lower the heat and add the whisked yogurt. Mix well to coat the chicken with the yogurt and spices.Cover and cook the chicken on low heat until it is fully cooked and tender.
    Combine the Chicken and Daal Mash:
    Once the chicken is cooked, add the cooked and mashed daal mash to the pan.Mix everything together until the daal mash is well incorporated with the chicken.Simmer the mixture for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.Sprinkle garam masala on top and mix well.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and chopped green chilies (if using).
    Serve:
    Serve the Chicken Shahi Daal Mash hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
