Thanks for watching and commenting. I haven’t had one problem with the pedator. I treat it like a snowblower. Stays in the shed all year. I start it the day before the first snow of the season. I snowblow the driveway, around the barn area and the parking lot. Then when I’m done back in the shed till the next storm.
I did have to move the mounting bracket but there where stamped knock outs on the deck that had to be removed. After I drilled them out I reused the same mounting brackets and the spacing was a perfect fit.
A year later and the price of this engine has increased 50% to now $150. Still worth it... but 50% inflation in 1 year. Rediculous. Usually it takes 10 years for the dollar to lose half its value.
YOUR SHEPPARD HOLDING HIS KONG BALL REMINDS ME OF MY STORM... MY WHITE SHEPARD. .... GOD I MISS HIM......!!!!! great vid. ...I'm in the middle of doing this exact same thing on my Ariens 624. the idiot who owned it ran it without adding oil FIRST. .... blew the connecting rod clean in half. !!! I'm gonna switch timing houses from a single shaft 6hp to a dule shaft. ...! Wish me luck....! 01/10/21
PROUDAMERICAN good luck that sounds like a fun project. Thanks for watching my video. Sorry for the loss of your Shepard. Awesome name though for an all white one.
brandon murphy that would have been a little easier. Harbor Freight had the 212cc predator on the shelf and it only comes with the smaller shaft. Thanks for watching and for your comment
Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. Hope the video helps solve your problem.
great video I'm going to do the same with my 926le and I was concerned about going from 9hp to 6.5hp but I feel better after reading the comments
I am going to do this on a toro this weekend. Great video.
Thanks for watching my video. I hope it works out as good for you as it did for me.
What did you use to notch out the key way on the original pulleys
nice job.. just wondering how the predator hold us in the outside snow weather....

@@g65woodandiron thanks for the update
Can you share the link for the spacer you found on Amazon?
I will try and find it for you thanks for watching
Does the headlight work??
No the headlight doesn’t work. This engine didn’t come with a stater. I have seen other videos where the person put on an after market one.
What about the deck mounting holes, do they line up with the deck that a Tecumseh Snow King uses?

5/16 x 24 fine thread by 2.5”
The next sized predator 301cc has a 1 inch shaft
Tooter Turtle good to know for the future thanks. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video.
@@g65woodandiron But it is double the $ anyway if it works it works
For an 11 hp 30" machine I probably would have gone with their 301cc or 420cc motors. 420 preferably.
Good to know as I my do the swap on my MTD 24" snow thrower.
How did you notch the pulleys and then how long was the key way
Glen Van Swol I cut the notch in the pulleys with a Dremal tool. The key way was about a half inch long on each one.
Cracked then spun.
Should have bought a one inch shaft engine

Idk the 212 is little underpowered at that point. Thats a 11 horse machine
Too small of an engine for a 30" bucket. It will big down big time once you hit snow.
Not true in my case. Been running strong for 2 winters. Last winter we had a snow storm that dumped 40inches of snow. Never skipped a beat.
