Love seeing all the goatie goats, pretty decent routine you have. I don't think I'll ever not giggle when I hear a goat blubbering hahaha. Very sweet doggos too. Thanks for sharing. 💚
Thank you for showing this! I might add sunflower seeds to our roundup if I can get them locally. I'll ask today. I was told they are high in phosphorus but it looks like it should balance out well when mixed in with the milk maker and alfalfa. All your goaties look so great! I noticed Boba was in heat before you said it haha
It is definitely working for us. We have noticed a huge change in all of the goats coats since adding in the black oil sunflower seeds. We don't feed that to any of them separately, always with at least the milk maker. The alfalfa pellets we don't give every feeding either, but more often with the cold weather and because we have 6 pregnant does. Phil (the wether) is doing great with this combination as well. No issues with calculi yet, and we've been doing this for 9 months with them all.
All the SNS goats bullying BCDG lol. I think it's the difference of being dam-raised. They learn to have a heftier pecking order from their dam vs humans :)
oh yea, my girls don't like sunflower seeds. But they adore shelled raw peanuts. Of course. Those peanuts are almost as much for 8# as 50# of sunflower seeds. They are very high in protien and fat so I usually just give one or two little handfuls to the milkers on the stand.
We haven't tried peanuts, but have tried various raw veggies. The only one who was even interested in raw veggies was Olivia. Almost everyone loves animal crackers for treats though!
@@breezywillowacres2390 my girls are real funny about veg. Won't touch most things from the grocery store but they adore homegrown kale and last year there were fights over cabbage & broccoli leaves from the garden!
lol. Boba sounds like a boy; I was trying to figure out why you had a boy in there until you mentioned heat. My girls usually just yell. If it were me I think I would do the pellet and seed mixed together and put it in a big trash can, then you could just add the alfalfa pellets as needed.
We talked about mixing both together but decide not to. We feel having the freedom to control the portions worked better for us. Boba definitely sounds like a buck smelling a doe in heat. She's just adorable!

Boba is definitely vocal when she's in heat. Hard to miss it!

Those 2 girls rule the roost, let me tell ya! Mayhem is the enforcer and she lets Boba be the queen. Hehe
Bullied by Mayhem and Boba?! NO WAY! (sarcasm) Margie is definitely not their matriarch haha. Big attitudes in little bodies LOL!!
They definitely have taken the leadership role!

I saw snow on your A frame. Snow will definitely be an issue when I finally get mine built. Do you scrape it off or not worry about it? 🩵Liz
Honestly, I hadn't noticed it. Probably should have cleared it off. The goats aren't really using it right now either.
