THIS is the review I was looking for. I got the dot and the echo on it's way to me, because I could not decide which was better based on other reviews. Now I know. Subscribed.
The small echo dot is not bad if you live in a small apartment building. I leave to do laundry with music blaring and I can hear it down the hall. So if you're on a tight budget its worth it. Man my neighbors would hate me if I got that bigger one 😆 a girl can dream.
alexa.amazon.com/ This website is amazing. Might have been my eero Wi-Fi messing things up from the app, but trying it with a different Wi-Fi, it worked flawlessly on the app
Great video! Got the echo dot 4th gen, it suits my needs, I use it for Alexa and for functionality, I have a separate speaker I can connect with the echo dot if I want music, great review! I absolutely enjoyed it!
Loved this review, and the fact that you compared them to the first gen. I’ve just picked up 4th gen cheap on sale to replace my 1st gen and couldn’t find a comparison anywhere!!
@@DayoAworunse going to stick it in the bedroom to replace an old Sony Bluetooth speaker so will still have use of the handy wheel, which is great when you’re changing the volume in a rush.

Hey, something that might interest you. A couple of days ago my Amazon account was closed with no warning for after hours of wasted time they're telling me it's for excessive returns which I think is an error but that's beside the point. When they closed my Amazon account all my Amazon devices that I own for years primarily all my Echo devices stopped working. I lost access to the Amazon Photos and Prime Video which I pay for. So apparently the devices you already own are subject to be disabled by Amazon on your perceived shopping habits! I assume the same applies to all other Amazon devices and services like fire OS tablets, Ring cameras, and probably AWS as well. Just wanted to make other people aware of this because they definitely don't tell you this when you buy your hardware and services.
@@DayoAworunse like if I want to use the dot and the echo paired as speakers for a movie or song. I never owned any. But I bought both. After your review I might return the dot, but it comes with the clock.

@@DayoAworunse hey bro thanks for replying. I ended up cancelling my dot order. It was going to arrive next month when they are in stock again. My echo 4g going to come in a few days. I just got the big echo as a bday gift. However I'm scared to set mine up and debating returning it. I don't want it recording and listening to everything going on in my house and I don't want to have to turn it off constantly either. I mean that would defeat the whole purpose
I got the echo and echo dot as a prize for winning a hackathon. Still don’t use it as much due to the annoying setup process. Also I didn’t have Spotify premium so I couldn’t connect my Spotify. I get the point but I wish it was easier to set up ( haven’t used the Google and Apple speakers so can’t say anything about this)

What are your thought about the echo plus 2nd gen over the echo 4th gen???
They're probably equal. The music might be a bit better, but I wouldn't necessarily switch for that slight upgrade.
I always smell my stuff when I unpack it too. 😂
for the dot turn the bass up in the settings
Bass is still lacking
I've been considering getting an Alexa at some point. But I'm still on the fence. Not sure what would make it worth it to me.
Take homepod mini
Get Google then
