- There is no getting around the fact that the BMW G 310 RR is essentially a rebadged TVS Apache RR310. But there are some changes that BMW has made to differentiate this motorcycle. Zaran Mody finds out what they are, and what effect they have on the riding experience.

The wise decision would be to buy Apache with all kits added and after a year change the colors and graphics to BMW, and stick a BMW badge to the side fairing.
Well, I was looking for a beginner bike and did went through all the better value for money propositions - finally got my BMW RR on Aug last week. For me its the much cleaner looks with the standard black storm metallic, premium buying/service experience and peace of mind with higher QA standards.
People dont give enough credit to TVS for bringing us such a great bike like the RR310. The prrof is that a reputed GLOBAL COMPANY like BMW has released the same bike with their brand, sure does say a lot .
If I have to choose between the two. The only main reason I would go for Apache is because of the tyres. And tyres give you confidence. And when it comes to bike confidence is everything

Better to buy the Apache and fly under the radar. Instead of gathering attention, the capability of the bike is what matters more and you’re definitely getting a good value too. I loved the Apache when I took it for a test drive in India. Unfortunately TVS aren’t selling any bikes in Saudi Arabia but BMW do, so that means this means will come here in the BMW form but will be pretty expensive.
To be very honest, the BMW logo and the Style Sport paint does make a difference. Very happy to see the BMW-TVS collaboration doing very well. Made in India, exported globally.
Coming back to the Apache BTO. A better deals sans the badge. Love the BTO.
Both bikes are great and most would logically go for the Apache. I like the BMW due to the paint and the appeal.

The badge for many I think is a very VFM thing even if it's ₹35000 premium.

The obvious and simple answer to the question was always a big NO, except for the fact that if one wants a BMW badge and has a bias towards foreign companies . Also , vast majority see BMW as a luxury brand , that's why it catches attention . No vast majority but only minority of people find this bike sporty and striking looking BMW. BMW does excellent job with its other sports bike in 1000and above category motorbikes , so also launch of bikes like these by BMW is underwhelming.
34K more for BMW stikers and some cut down features !

I believe is that... Apache might be a good choice... but most of the people out there have various versions of Apache, where as BMW RR will stand out unique... in its own way.
Also the style sport variant is amazing in compare to any color/graphics combination we get on Apache..!!
Buy this only if you want to show off the badge. BMW really dropped the ball when it came to specs.
If bmw want to capture Indian mid segment market they need to work very closely with TVS to provide better service,and availability of parts on reasonable rates.
Indians middle class now have budget they are willing to invest on 3-4 lakh bracket bikes.

I don't know much about bikes but how both rr 310 looks similar? Just the brand is difference?
No one is talking about its after sale service..I own a Rr310, I've faced a lot of issue regarding service..its only available in selected service center.. not in all TVS service center
What about engine malfunction problem found in Apache rr310
In conclusion - Buy the TVS and get BMW logos and put it on. As simple as that

In Malaysia we didn't get Apacer RR310... maybe BMW will bring 310RR to Malaysia like G310 ans G310GS...
This makes sense in the export market not India. Same markets where BMW GS is doing quite well.

Its like two wife's sons of a rich man. One (bmw) is his son from his cruel wife and another one (apache) is his son from a poor girl he loved and married but never accepted by his cruel wife.

BMW rebadging TVS, Toyota rebadging Suzuki. I don’t know whether I should be happy for TVS and Suzuki or sad for BMW and Toyota.
On the bright side you can buy this bmw and get cheap servicing and parts for Apache ....

The Engine of Apache rr 310 is from BMW only. Good Collaboration between TVS and BMW. Expecting good quality bikes under their collaboration 🙂
This is why I'm never selling my Apache RR310.
Get the apache rr bto and enjoy the ride. It's as simple as that. This bike is gonna be marketed in Europe and US markets. It's not meant for India to be frank.
Get an Apache with more equipment..
Use that extra 35k on accessories & gears rather than a logo..

For parallel twin refinement and very affordable sevice costs - ninja 300
For Insane performance - KTM
For something worth it - Apache
For brand value and feeling premium - Bmw
Apache for looks, ninja for 2 cylinder engine, ktm for acceleration
Can't specifically say the best, But if you consider best in overall than Ninja 300 could be the one as it has most comfortable seating position u can even cruse long distances on it & also the Kawasaki engine & all etc.
Go for Apache 310 because
1) price and maintenance is low
2) it looks like a big bike some 600 cc
3) better milage
4) made in india
