Do you still like it? The game now is oddly intent on reminding me of the year that Germany invaded France, for when ever I fire at a BB or cruiser, I get an over penetrating hit that does a measly...1940 damage. I could make a montage of this.....
I noticed many of the BBs have clocks, but none of them work in-game.. Seems weird to animate turrets and AA stuff but somehow making a working clock that just syncs to your client's time wasn't considered.
it's side armour does a better job at advertising france than actually protecting the ship 4:39 neither both for it is more like a huge stale baguette after getting soaked in water.
Most of the Dunkerque players haven't been doing the Bow on to other ships that and i've seen that her guns have issues hurting the heavier armored battlehips such as Arizona, New Mexico, and Bayern. Then again in-game she's the cruiser killer of T6.
She is an amazing ship in game when played right, definite cruiser crusher and packs a surprise punch to DDs. IJN BBs broadside get nuked US and German are a bit tougher for her to crack but aim for guns and bridge you'll get solid returns. Or set them ablaze your choice. She is fast and nimble with a decent armament. Player her slow at the start keep close to your fleet, and use islands and reverse to throw off other ships while maintaining a fire solution. Once you feel you have advantage charge into the enemy.
Inaccurate ? What ? I always get some nice Dispersion with Dunkerque, better than Fuso and NM and IRL, the crew was smart, they shot the number 1 gun, then 3, then 2 and 4, that means better accuracy And Richelieu got timers that made her guns shoot at the same time, meaning no loss of accuracy
The ships were only attacked after the French refused to join the British fleet. If the Germans made it to the port, they would have taken the battleships in the harbour which would have been significantly worse than what the British did. They could have caused some serious changes in the Atlantic

I don't even aim at the body of the ship. If I can, I target the gun turrets. Nothing fuqs over a Dumbkerque captain like losing one of those turrets. Two weeks after her release in the game, you can't find a Dunkerque anywhere.

you make it sound like the Brits where heartless. we gave them 5 choices: sail to Britain and become a French squadron, sail to a French port outside of France, sail to a neutral country port, scuttle your ships or be blown up. they choose the last option because of the occupiers in France but they should of except the neutral ports instead of defying the RN

If they had joined the royal navy the bismark and tirpitz would never have sailed, the supply lines from America and Russia would of been protected even more so. The uboat threat could of been dealt with even more efficiently. But no the one time French people decide to not be cowards and defy the best options they get punished in under 15 mins

Well mainly the Scharnhorsts. But they had great armor protection unlike the Dunkerque‘s. Well they were designed as “battlecruisers”, so that kind of explains it. A ship with battleship caliber guns, and that sacrifices armor protection for speed is classified as a battlecruiser.
this ship I've seen rip apart other ships not prepared encountering it. I've also seen it burn pretty good when it gets surrounded by cruisers firing at long range. best way to catch her is pretty much nail her at the tail where there is not long range guns. :P.

You really painted Britain in a bad light about Mers-el-Kabir. You forgot, for instance, the British offering them to come and fight with the free French forces
Except they had signed a treaty allowing them to keep their forces and lands they controlled in southern France, and doing so would have broken that treaty and guarantee their take over, Britain bombing the ship of course was seen as break of it as well. So yeah, Britain essentially screwed over what was the only parts of France not under German control due to fear.

The main French fleet was actually anchored at Toulon on France's southern coast. The Nazis ended up trying to take the fleet with tanks at first but the French began to shell them. The Nazis then sent in their troops at which point the French commanders finally decided to blow up their own ships thus scuttling most of them and denying the Nazis a bigger force to harass the RN with. Dunkerque and her sister ship were a total loss. Immediately after the scuttling the top French admiral sent a message basically saying "I told you I would deny them" in regards to the earlier correspondence between the French and RN admiralty about what to do should the Nazis attempt to take the French fleet.

I would like to point out that this video is false advertisement in order to sell premium ships. The video CONSTANTLY shows large hits being done of 6k+ per salvo. The likelihood of that happening while playing the Dunkerque is MINIMAL at best. You will ALWAYS overpen with this ship, regardless of range. Hit a Tirpitz at max range? Overpen. Hit the broadside of a cruiser at close range? Overpen. And you want to know the real joke which is an utter disgrace? Your overpen damage is 1940 90% of the time. 1940. The year that France was invaded by Germany. GG Wargaming.

The real battleship Dunkerque (the French navy never call it a "battle cruiser", even if we can classify it as seen these characteristics) had the qualities and flaws listed in this video ... it is not really the same with that of the games ... (but it is valid for all the ships of "World of Warships", which, on many aspects, relates more to the arcade games than to a true naval simulation)

After playing it for a week or two I actually really like the Dunkerque.

and on that clock what does it say High Noon
it was used to warn of heading and distance of targets to allied ships, so everyone could concentrate fire even tho only one ship can see it.

I haven't understood why people keep knocking on the Dunkerque, I've had 3 games in her. 120k damage, 80k damage, and 150k damage. She's a monster!
Probably one of my favourite BBs atm. Offers a diffrent and fun way to play the game. I highly reccomend this for experienced battleship players

A quad-shot battleship, ive seen a few ships haveing this amount (4 shots in each turret) of shots in one turret.

The likelihood of that happening while playing the Dunkerque is MINIMAL at best. You will ALWAYS overpen with this ship, regardless of range.
Hit a Tirpitz at max range? Overpen. Hit the broadside of a cruiser at close range? Overpen.
And you want to know the real joke which is an utter disgrace? Your overpen damage is 1940 90% of the time. 1940. The year that France was invaded by Germany.

False advertising? ... It all depends! ... The real battleship Dunkerque (the French navy never call it a "battle cruiser", even if we can classify it as seen these characteristics) had the qualities and flaws listed in this video ... it is not really the same with that of the games ... (but it is valid for all the ships of "World of Warships", which, on many aspects, relates more to the arcade games than to a true naval simulation)
