One major drawback with solid-state batteries, is the swelling of the battery during charging and, ultimately the degradation of the cell after extensive recharging, lithium is a very toxic metal for the environment, not many countries want to mine it, 98% of lithium is not recycled and goes in to land dumps, the huge amount of lithium used to make one lithium car is not sustainable for all cars, it takes 1000 gallons of water turned toxic to mine one lithium car, (horrible) the way fuel cell catalysts and membranes , there anode and cathodes are becoming so efficient that one day a larger coke bottle full of cheap green hydrogen will take your car 1000 miles, this is coming, and new home solar cells that make hydrogen coming to market , they will run homes and cars at cheap cost effective prices, why because solar cells have become much more cost efficient in making green hydrogen or getting bang for buck from solar cells than having battery storage or just plan electricity, fuel cells will always have 10 times more power than any other lithium battery or solide state battery, fuel cell are proven and solide state or lithium will loose in the end when it comes tp power , fuel cells are becoming truly remarkable engines for all transportation ect, fuel cell tanks for cars, tanks are made with carbon fiber 5 times stronger than steel made for super safe impact, making it safer than combustion engines or for that matter a lithium car, secret about hydrogen fuel cell cars is that each car actually cleans the air as it runs due to it`s clean watered electrolysis when released onto the atmosphere, fuel cells will run everything in the future and not lithium or any solide- state battery! after all lithium batteries cars are still connected to oil and coal grids.

Ok. Rambling along. Are you talking about an engine or an electric motor. Rapping a rotor with carbon fiber isn't a good idea in a sense. Why would you need to do that in the first place. Seems like a waste of time and effort.
There were early EVs in the 1880s, several different variations and inventors, decades before gas engine cars became common to own in the US. The idea that Musk is ahead of China is lamebrained.
Remember to all my comment friends, combustion engines cannot run without electricity, you need electricity to run your combustion engine, battery, alternator, you will always need electricity..,even in yourselves, electricity is priceless..!!
Sustainable transport was and is based on the internal combustion engines of 30 or 40 years ago. These engines could be adopted to run on etheric energy. Hence why regulations banning such modifications and the constant changes to disallow the adoption of etheric energy retro fits. What? And you didn't know this? EV's are a very temporary fix.
Sounds good, but how about making a two battery system self charging car/truck, so we will never need to plug it in again, with the two battery system, while using one battery the other one is being recharged back to 100%!!! Because once all gas powered cars being dropped, the price to charge these EV cars will be as much as the cost of the car!!! All being charged by the governments pushing the EV cars!
There’s more unsold EV’s in massive car parks around the world. People don’t want electric cars in some countries electric is so expensive your cheaper with petrol or gas.
It seems like there is an element of what I would call delusional grandeur about all this. It's cool and fine that they have improved the design of motors for electric vehicles. Along with the possibilities of other applications for this technology. But if you have one of these carbon EV vehicles and you still have to wait no less than three to four hours for a full or nearly full recharge of its battery or longer away from home, that is definitely not going to appeal to a lot of everyday people. Not to mention if the battery's cells still degrade over time... These geniuses need to make some serious leaps in BATTERY and other technologies. Charge times are still way too long for these current vehicle lithium batteries, which hurts their practicality, not to mention degradation over time. Here's another thing I thought about in the wake of all this EV tech... You know how gasoline engine vehicles have an alternator that keeps the 12 volt battery constantly recharged with no need to plug into anything (normally, anyway) to be recharged? Could these engineers and such come up with some kind of continual current generating and/or alternating system that would NOT require the battery to normally be plugged in and recharged? At least not on a regular basis like we have to do currently every 75, 100, 150-300 miles or however long a full charge lasts with our current battery and other technology. Plus, there are other "sustainable" forms of energy that can be used for vehicle propulsion besides electricity...like salt water and other methods. But maybe the "powers that be" don't really want that and so on...
