Matt - I think you're great and your ministry is great. However, the Catholic Church doesn't actually teach with specificity that Pride Month cannot be celebrated. What we would have to do is celebrate that aspect of Pride Month that can in fact align with Catholic moral teaching (e.g., dignity of every human being, love of neighbor, etc.). We would have to be clear about what we're celebrating and what we're not celebrating. It doesn't have to be Us vs. Them. The pride flag has numerous meanings - we can agree with the version in which the colors represent virtues. We can find common ground, build friendship, and in that context call to deeper knowing of God's will. Am I wrong? If I'm wrong, why?

@@angelicdoctor8016 Yes you are wrong. The pride flag has one meaning, and that is celebration of the sin of sodomy. What you said is like saying "Well the swastika has many meanings, Indians used it to mean peace." Well, now there is only one meaning. Those who are tempted toward the sin of Sodom, and attempt to refrain from sin should be loved and supported by their fellow Christian brethren. Just like those who struggle with porn and attempt to refrain should be loved and supported. But someone who revels in mortal sin cannot be supported by the Church or Christians.

I can’t stress how important it is for the church to stand firm in ALL its teachings. Especially with this. As someone who left the church for not agreeing with its teachings on homosexuality and abortion and also identifying as bisexual for a long time, by the grace of God I came back to my faith even though I still didn’t fully agree or understand. When I finally learned the real teachings of the church and WHY, and with a lot of prayer I am now very pro life and I no longer identify as bisexual. My faith would not be as strong as it is if my mind had not been changed and I continued to pick and choose which parts I agreed with and which parts I didn’t.

@@desnock There are those within the church that fight the evil in the organization. You cannot judge it based on the few bad eggs who did damage when they were at the steering wheel of power. If you actually met anyone in The church, you would be met with some of the nicest, and tolerant people that anyone can come across. We are not the same church from the Middle Ages. Catholicism also has a history of fighting moral degeneracy such as naziism, socialism, Marxism, communism, nuclear deterrence, drug abuse, abortion, homosexuality, spousal abuse, rape, molestation, premarital sex, abuses within the industrial sector of free-market capitalism, racial inequality, monetary inequality and much much more. We donate a lot of money to research to stop cancer and aids. Countless other donations are made to alleviate hunger, thirst, and homelessness. As for the notion that the church is doing nothing to stop abuses, they are actually doing very much to stop it, including outright excommunication of those whom have been involved with either committing or covering-up said activities, and extradition for imprisonment. I know of a priest in my parish who was guilty of this crime and no bishop came to cover it up. We were as compliant with authorities as anyone else in the same situation. The police had no trouble from the Vatican deliberately trying to cover-up said activity. Our new pope actually was elected because of his stance against the cover ups. The only reason you don’t hear about it from media outlets is because religion is not considered a priority. They were written off as a holdover from a bygone era that is only relevant whenever scandal is brought up. In fact it is usually only scandal the media likes to talk about whenever they display something, religious or not (it gets them more views, higher ratings, and therefore more money). As for you questioning why people follow the religion even though it was guilty of many atrocities, we follow this Faith because of the ideas that are taught. We follow because of the sacraments that bring us closer to God through the distribution of Grace and the traditions that link us to our ancestors that have dedicated their lives in service to God. We follow because of the moral teachings that we need as human beings to be better fellows to our other brothers and sisters on Earth. It is because of our moral teachings that I believe it won’t be long until we clean house and fix the impurity that has plagued the human element of the Church for the recent past centuries. So, in conclusion we don’t follow it because the leaders are virtuous; that would be stupid and illogical. We follow because we want to become better ourselves and to improve the Church and make it better in line with the teachings which we preach. We want nothing less than to live up to the expectations that both God and others have of us and to strive for excellence both in our spiritual and physical lives. That is the truth and the ideal that I and many other Catholics want, and we will die before we accept anything less.

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

I would say, if you want to go on social media territories, keep your faith strong (you have to pray for it), and remain focused on lifting other people up, without being dragged down by people. There are plenty of tentations on the web (negativity, violence, pornography, abuse...), but there are also plenty of people who need a strong help. Even if you are only a stranger making them question their false beliefs through youtube comments, that counts. However you have to be very cautious. Be sure to keep a strong faith, and remain surrounded by happy and faithful people (Church, family...). If you are an isolated Christian, beware of not ending up sinking in despair if you only speak to anti-Christian people on the web! In that case, I would advise you to only visit Catholic sites or channels. God bless you, we have to be strong and defend the Truth at all costs !

Great point. I am Catholic and i deleted my Facebook almost 7 years ago, and my Instagram almost a year ago. Some of the sins I was falling into was covetousness, since I'd compare my life to others and wish I had what others had (even with all the blessings God already gave me) and I'd even feel depressed. Also sloth-ness, since I'd lose hours scrolling when i could be doing better things, like reading God's word and focussing on my family. I also disliked all the sin being displayed on people's posts and accounts, lots of negativity, not much faith or grace. I can tell you that it was a huge relief to have deleted my social media, i felt like i gained so much. It feels strange at first, like you might miss it. But after a few weeks you'll forget you ever felt you needed it. I also wanted to add that a few years ago i was sucked into "new age" because it was so trendy on social media, i didn't know it was a sin in disguise. So that's another point against social media. The devil is sneaky and if you're not careful you can be tricked. Getting off social media will be one less way he can attack you.

Ok this is personal. I had left the church long back and did not understand the existence of God. Then I was leading for long a life of depravity and debauchery and leisurely walking on the broad road into Hell. Sad.
Luckily a chance meeting with a Lady preacher fron Greece, of the Greek orthodox church and I eventually changed understood that Hell exists and is eternal. I came to know that unrepentant grave sin leads one into eternal damnation. Sad.
I then onwards left my sinful life and repented and followed Gods Law and the commandments of the church.
During this period I was spiritually dead i had three life threatening experiences but miraculously survived. Here the words of Jesus rings true " Again and Again I save you from the eternal fires"
Yes Jesus saves and saves however at stage one's times up and down one goes if in grave sin.
I now pray a lot for the lost.
If we see YT video of the celebrated atheist astrophysicist Stephen Hawking in hell where Jesus says " He is asking for my mercy but there is no mercy here. Let's go " and hurries away. Sad.

Happiness: best advice I heard from Our Lady of Medjugorje. She says" if you want to be very happy, lead a humble simple life, don't delve into your problems but let God solve them"

    • @beautifulspirit7420

I was baptised and received into the Church in Medjugorje. A very holy and gracefilled place where thousands of people devote themselves to Jesus daily. Mass is said in many languages from 6am onwards each day. Pope Francis has blessed the power of the conversions coming from Medjugorje. No need to believe Our Lady is appearing there, just experience the power of Christ and his Church. It is a oasis of peace.

    • @beautifulspirit7420
      @beautifulspirit7420 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@T_frog1 well I have been there a number of times. I also took supplies to refugees there during the war. As I said, no requirement to believe Our Lady is appearing but there is no denying the huge amount of conversions and vocations that flow from Medjugorje. The Balkans were under the Ottoman Empire for many centuries, it's miraculous that the Christian faith survived and then under Communism. In this current period when so many people no longer see the value of marriage and children it's a powerful witness to the Sacrament of Marriage that the majority of the visionaries married and have stayed married for decades. There is no requirement by the Church that a person claiming to see Our Lady should become a priest or religious. If you are willing to judge a place from afar you have done more than the Church which has not made a final judgment except the Pope has said people are free to visit and Bishops and priests should support the faith of the faithful. If it was as fake and evil as you claim the Church would have shut everything down a long time ago. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion of course but as someone who has never visited you are preferring your own judgment over the Franciscan Priests who serve the Parish and the Papal Envoy who visited and stayed for months and gave his seal of approval to Medjugorje as a place of pilgrimage without confirming the claims of Our Lady appearing. I for one, my 25 yr marriage to my Catholic husband and my Catholic children are all direct fruit of Medjugorje.

@@T_frog1 hello Trevor. I am responding to your message because I really really pray and hope that you will look at Medjugorje again. If you can, go there! Because these are the last apparitions of Our Lady on Earth. On June 24th, the 40th Anniversary of Her coming, I will pray especially for you, that She Herself makes it known to you that She is truly there. I have to speak and defend Medjugorje, because I am alive because of Our Lady of Medjugorje. I was miserable and unhappy. Two of my brothers, Andrew and Michael committed suicide around age 32. I think I would have ended up like them. I have so many friends from Adoration, who converted through Medjugorje. Archbishop Hendrik Hoser, an old and experienced Priest from Poland, is there in Medjugorje, watching over it at the request of the Pope. I heard his interviews in Polish, he has only good things to say, because he sees conversions. Fr. Don Calloway converted because of Medjugorje. Watch on TH-cam Fr. Leon Pereira, who is Chaplain there to English Speaking pilgrims. Don't take one man's opinion of Medjugorje as your own.
