DuroBump Install on Tacoma

- Will these DuroBumps fix my up travel problem on the Tacoma? After cycling the suspension with the bump stops on, I believe it will definitely help slow down the upper control arms before they smash into the wheel well. My only concern is that it might limit the up travel too much to where rise quality is affected.

Yeah i can confirm installed choas lca and it was further away from stock bumpstop, they send the kit with a spacer with them if youre still using the stock spacer. i went with sumo spring up front because they are fatter, thinking that absorbs more energy.
Perry Parts bump stops are also a good option! They are a little newer to the bump stop game but have proven they can hold up and preform great!!
Durobumps are a great compromise of price and performance. I installed these on my son’s truck (2005 x-cab 4x4 V6) on both the front and rear with their rear u-bolt flip kit.
When your boy says you're not spending enough time together and then shows up wearing a Big Daddy 69 T.shirt! 😂
Just an fyi, durobumps compress to the same height as oem bump stops, so you will still have an issue with rough bottom outs. Add a spacer to the durobumps or the oem ones.
Wouldn't the inner fender be better to address? Crazy they didn't build that bump with a slight angle to be flush with the pad. I'm curious if this actually worked on the full weight of the truck?
Long term, yes. It would be much nicer to cut out the inner fender and do a JD inner fender but this is was more cost/time effective. When doing the inner fenders I’d have to then tackle the project of relocating all the displaced stuff in the engine bay. And yeah I’m hoping they make good contact and don’t bind up weird on compression
Have you ever thought of trying out the new Bilstien 8112 dsa+. They are internal bypass coilovers with a internal bottom out zone and a top out zone.
I'm really curious if these will slightly limit your up travel like how you want, or only reduce the shock of a bottom out how I want. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Have you considered jd fab inner fenders?
Ohh I want those so bad. Especially cause I beat the shit out of my passanger side inner fender 😬😬
Have you had any driveline vibrations due to rear lift?
Nothing directly because of the lift. But the added travel of the shock relocation mixed with the lack of a slip yolk in the driveshaft resulted in premature wearing of the center bearing which causes vibration
You need to tub. This is going to reduce the performance of the truck.
Bro you need to tub it not lower the bumps 🎉🎉
This is way cheaper for the time being 😂
