    Oh man, that McDonald's Piano Recital commercial is one of the definitive 80s commercials. I could still recite most of that song...

      Every time I hear Fur Elise I think of this ad.

    Something very soothing about the yellow tint on McDonald's breakfast ads

      Something I've noticed about 80s commercials (especially late 80s), they tended to feature warm, natural looking lighting and make use of shadows, and were often filmed at sunset

    Corn Flakes- I wonder if that Library would have books on who eats Frosted Flakes, Cap'n Crunch, Lucky Charms, Shredded Wheat, etc.?
    McDonald's Recital- That girl has some exceptional improvisational skills, coming up with lyrics for "Fur Elise" on the spot like that. She's going to be big someday, I bet.

    1986: When things were so bright and cheery. So bright and cheery, that McDonald's decided to film their commercial right on the Sun with one of the future Directors from CSI:Miami.

      Well, “The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades” by Timbuk 3 came out that year...all jokes aside, it sure seemed like an optimal time of human existence.

    Still better than the crap that passes for today's television shows.

    Amazing video quality. I would watch it is it was mud, but this is SO well done. Agreed with other comments, very DESERVINGLY sentimental. So much less ego and pretentiousness in the world, then. Cheesy and silly sometimes but it was HONEST(er) , EVEN in advertising :)

    Lot of iconic McDonald’s ads in this volume! I especially like the “By the Hand” one inspired by the Andrews Sisters’ “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”

    The old McDonald's slogan is way better than the stupid one now...I'm lovin it. No one says they love McDonald's. Especially their high prices now.

    My first job was at McDonald’s and I can tell you that the “fresh egg” and hand-rolled biscuit footage is complete bullshit.

    I want this book that lists people who eat corn flakes. 😹

      I love how there are at least six other identical books on the shelf next to it. I can only assume those are other books in the same series listing other cereals that people eat.

    The luggo’s bros pizza jingle is catchy despite it’s a commercial for Round table pizza.

    I think the mercury Sable is waaay uglier than the merkur.

  • @DanZero77
    @DanZero77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That Merkur was certainly an ugly car it looks like all the changes they had to make for them to be sold here as well as the exchange rate with West Germany at the time made them not sell all that well, not too different from the British Sterling line of cars that were out around the same time.
