First heard the jingle in a 1984 compilation on this channel and that was roughly the same impression I had. Really like the jingle. As for the Absorbine Jr. spot, I wouldn't have been surprised if S.C. Johnson filed a complaint charging that the Absorbine ad ripped off Glade's longtime "Plug it in" jingle
Downy- I like how everyone in the classroom, minus the girl writing a letter, have blank expressions on their faces. DOW Bathroom Cleaner + Mr Clean- I always thought that the Scrubbing Bubbles characters and Mr Clean should of have their own animated series. Especially both of them teaming up to fight dirt and grime in various houses.
I can't believe they was showing movies like Scanners on regular ass tv like that back in the day lol, also it seems like laundry products across the board were having glow ups at this point in the 80s lol
I read the list of what commercials were in this volume and I was STILL shocked when that Le Cafe dinner one came on. Was thinking it would be a cologne/perfume commercial 🤦♀️
Citrus Hill Select Orange Juice-background melody sounds a bit like "What A Fool Believes" by The Doobie Brothers Alpo-Godspeed,Lorne.. Tampax-but what if they want to switch Le Menu-nothing like rushing home in your fancy sports car to eat..a tv dinner Bounce-shouldve said"BOUNCE!" in the chorus instead of Jump Scanners-in some broadcast television showings, the famous head explosion was kept in all its glory
Le Menu - If you live as well as these people do, you do not eat microwave meals. I don't care how French the food tries to make itself sound with its name.
On your most recent volume of 70s commercials, someone thought you applied a "retro" filter and altered it from the original. For this volume of 80s commercials, is this ripped straight from VHS or did you do some sort of digital cleanup to it? The video quality in this volume is amazingly good!
It is a straight VHS rip (though not originally transferred by me). Sometimes I do some cleanup and color correction, but not with this recording as it needed none. It’s essentially original broadcast quality.
The three generations of dogs in the Alpo ad was so heartwarming!!!
That Citrus Hill Select jingle is an example of the jingle being better than most of today's music...

The Glade plug in product didn’t even exist at this time. They were introduced in 1990.

10:24 - I wish I had a magical Roger Ebert to pop up and whisper movie advice in my ear...Seriously, I do, I miss that guy! Siskel, too!
These days, United Airlines is more likely to LOSE your luggage than find it!

The tampon commercial? Never see those on TV anymore! LOL!

They don't call me Iron Mike.
This guy used to be Mr. Clean, now he's Mr Proper

Yuppies drinking champagne with their TV dinners...I don’t buy it.
You'd be surprised what affluent people will eat. Some will throw in quick unhealthy microwavable meals just like anyone else.
The box said "ham steak"! Uber classy and sophisticated! lol
