Imagine the media outcry if Newcastle were planning to sell a young player to Saudi for £60 million.

the fact they also sold Diaby to Saudi and Duran clearly going for the money, there character checking has to be questioned whereas Eddie's no dickheads policy clearly works.

Yeah selling two players who played most of their minutes from the bench for around £120m in the days of PSR is bad management isn’t it

It is frustrating not to be able to sign anyone this window but fans need to understand that not signing anyone now means a stronger summer. If we buy someone now for the sake of it, it affects us later down the road if its not value for money, especially if we don't make Champions League because we'll have less revenue

I think it is risk Worth taking because we do have mostly 1 game weeks for the rest of the season. Injuries obviously a concern. But if it works and we got top 7 or hopefully top 5 we can massively go for it in the summer window. Would love for us to get J David as well either way. Of course I would love a signing and if an opportunity comes up but not a for the sake of it one.

The Catch 22 is that we're unlikely to score Champs League if we dont strengthen now. Those world class stars might not stick around as a result.

I think at this point I trust the club to do what they need to do. They know the PSR situation better than anyone. I think Mitchell cashing in on players now is risky however it's very much beneficial in a PSR world. The involvement of James Bunce has certainly helped us with injuries so hopefully this will continue. Save it for the summer

From last night's Villa team, only Rodgers (at RW) and Martinez would get in our starting XI.

Villa have sold a ton of players like Graelish, Diaby, Duran, Douglas Luis for big money
All those went for between £50m to £100m a piece
Who have we sold again? Not including swap deals Maxi is the only significant sale at £22m
    We are terrible at selling

When do the new PSR rules come in? Villa nowhere near complying with 70% wages to turnover. NUFC are fairly comfortable with that, mainly due to our higher turnover. I think this looks like Villa panicking.

I prefer to look at the clubs medium/long term plans to judge our prospects. We are going to build a £200m training facilty which will be the envy of all and comparable to Real Madrid, We are probably moving onto Leazes Park and a 70/80000 seater stadium that will eclipse Tottenhams stadium.
The club are being driven by real professionals who will invest in the squad this summer to complement our present and future world class players. Isak, Tonali, Bruno, Gordon, Hall and Botman.
Patience is required but fans need to chill and just enjoy the ride. 🙂🙂

I beg to differ Kamara is just as good as Bruno we als have Ramsey and Rogers who will be full England internationals soon, your opinion about Villa players is baseless, Newcastle have a strong first eleven but are couple injuries away from being an average side. I concede that Villa have PSR concerns but we are better managed club this is based on your lack in comings this January. As for Champions League if but and maybe's..

Villa are and will always be bigger than Newcastle. Just cos your up there not surrounded by much else and have a huge fanbase does not make you a big club. You’ve a history that could be written on the back of a stamp

Four league and titles and six FA Cups, must be a pretty big stamp?!
Just because Newcastle haven’t won a trophy in recent history, it is still a successful history, regardless if it doesn’t fit your narrative!
      Goodbye!🤫

If you were born in 95 you’d be alive when we won 1… Two league cups with a year gap (93/4 & 95/96) Newcastle haven’t won a major throphy since England in 66 😂😂😂 we’ve had a League title, European Cup and European super cup since then.

There’s no comparison. As for being a feeder club, the players we’ve let go in the last two years have usually not been first 11 starters. We currently have one of the most successful European Managers in the world and of all time and you’ve got Eddie Howe hahahahahaha
